The idea of having an episode that features both the desert and a winter wonderland is pretty cool. Um, no pun intended. Lance & Keri were eliminated, and I'm kinda bummed to see them go, as they struck me as pretty genuine people. They would fight and stuff, but it wasn't anything close to what we've seen with other teams. Week 4 Results

Because everyone gained points, the only downside of the week was Sam/Dan's 5th place finish. It didn't lose any points for anyone, but they left points on the table for many. You know we had a good week as a group if "some only broke even" is the downside of the week.  The Perfect Bet Award goes to several players, each doubling their points. Congrats to mikey, ARNutz, MaxZ, and ohmyheck. Way to go!This week's Greatest Gainer Award goes to ARNutz who halved their rank moving from #32 to #16. Is 8th place on the horizon? We shall see. Bonus Pick - Time spread between Meghan/Cheyne & Mika/Canaan Since it's the 5th week, it's time to begin the real bonus games. Yogi has chosen the following... Bonus Game - Loan Sharkin'This should be fun, as this is traditionally one of the last bonus games in the season. I'm a little frightened now.  This week and this week only, players have the ability to borrow up to a max bet, which is 55 points, to wager on teams. If you borrow these points, you may bet them on any team you'd like, irregardless of how you wagered your own points. So, if you had 60 points to spend this week, and you bet: 55 points - Meghan/Cheyne
5 points - Brian/Ericka You have the choice to borrow up to 55 more points and bet them on whoever you want. So, in this example, you could throw yet another 55 points on Meghan/Cheyne (making your total bet on them 110). Or you could bet them on Brian/Ericka or whoever. Just make sure you say how many points you're borrowing (if any) and put that wager separate from your others. So, this example entry might look like: 55 points - Meghan/Cheyne
5 points - Brian/Ericka Borrowing 55 points.
55 points - Meghan/Cheyne There's one catch. After this week's scoring, you'll have to pay back the full loan to me, plus 20% interest. That means, if you borrow the full 55 points, I'll be taking those 55 points back next week, plus 11 points of interest. But, hey, if you can turn those 55 points into 100+ points, it won't matter much. If your 55 point loan turns into a 0x payout... Well, you'll be paying for those points out of your own bankroll. 1. "Payout Table Construction" |
This post is a guide for the person who wins the Bonus Game this week. Think of it as a weekly reference guide. The rules will change throughout the season as the game gets a little looser.After the new episode airs, I'll post the correct answer in this thread, identify the winner, and send a private message to that individual. The winner has until the following Tuesday night (midnight) to contact me with their Payout Table for the following week. They can either post it in this thread or send me a private message if they want to be secretive. If the winner doesn't contact me with their Payout Table by Tuesday night, I will create the next Payout Table instead. Payout Table Rules(These may change throughout the season when we get farther into the game.) 1. Your Table must have a ranking for all the potential rankings of the teams. Use the format that I use. 1st place -
2nd place -
3rd place -
4th place -
5th place -
6th place - (This is assuming they eliminate a team on Sunday. If they don't, add 7th place on there.) 2. 1st place must be 2x and last place must be 0x. 3. The payout multipliers must decrease as you go down the rankings list. Therefore, you can't do something like... 1st place - 2x
2nd place - 1.8x
3rd place - .3x
4th place - 1.2x That would be pretty mean if you did do that anyway. We'll save that scenario for potentially later in the season.  4. The sum of the multipliers must equal the number of rankings. If there's 6 teams left next week, the multipliers have to add up to 6. If there's still 7, they have to add to 7. 1st place - 2x
2nd place - 1.5x
3rd place - 1.3x
4th place - .7x
5th place - .5x
6th place - 0x 2 + 1.5 + 1.3 + .7 + .5 = 6 Think of it as the good payouts balancing out the bad payouts. 5. No negative multiplier numbers. Man, why would you do that to a person? 6. Round each decimal to the tenths-point. No 1.24235245x payouts. 1.2x will do just fine, thank you. If you follow these rules, your Payout Table will be accepted. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Lucky 7 - You'll place a wager on a pair of teams whose ranks at the end of the next episode will add to 7. If they add to 7, then you win the bet. If they don't you lose it. 2. Five True Statements - A new game. Players place a wager, and make five statements about which teams will beat which teams next week. Each statement will be something like, for example, "Meghan/Cheyne beats FlightTime/BigEasy" or "Maria/Tiffany beats Gary/Matt". You win the bet if all five of your statements turn out to be true. The only rules are that you have to use all 6 teams somewhere in your statements and you cannot use any team 3 times. 3. Mini-Wagers - Players can make wagers on which team says a certain word first. I'll post somewhere around 5-10 different words you can bet on. These will tend to be several smaller bets and players can bet on different teams on as many words as they want.
