kingfish 19155 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Playboy Centerfold" 01-09-09, 10:23 AM (EST) "Parking Wars on A&E" "Parking Wars, featuring the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA), illustrates the real life parking problems of drivers who turn road rage into parking rage ..." I found myself watching this the other night, and was unexpectedly very entertained. And you don't want the parking authority in Philadelphia to get your car, some of those people have to spend hours and hours and days in line after line trying to straighten out their various problems. A friend was out one night, left the club when it closed, and went to where his car no longer was. He thought it was stolen. But no-I forget how he found out it was towed a block or so away because a film crew was doing something. So he gets to location #2 and his car is not there for some reason or another. Towed again! It took him I don't know how long or how much money to get his car back through no fault of his own. He laughed about afterward but at the time he was wiped out from running all over the city trying to track the car down. Suprising because it's part of the basic cable package here. "Parking Wars" does sound like a joke. Which may be what caused me to tune in. I don't blame you for having skeptism. Suffice it to say that after watching a couple of episodes, I went out and made sure that all of the paperwork I was supposed to have in the car was there, that my driver's license was up to date, and that all tickets had been paid. And I do not shrug off "No Parking" signs or zones. In short, it shows the horror stories of people that get trapped in that system as well as the frustrations of the people that give the tickets. Everybody seems to come out losers, but it's edited to be funny, in a laughing at others way. What those poor people who had not paid attention to those things had to go thru to get their car out of impound was so impressively frustrating that it moved me to make sure that I could not get caught like that.   Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
