I must disagree. You're saying that they're putting the people in each other's mouths (gross!!). I could have a cheeseburger in front of me and choose not to eat it. Plus, if you had the option of a nice home-cooked meal, or a greasy nasty one that will give you gas all night, which would you choose? On second thought, don't answer that.

I will say this in reply to your comment.A lot people have will power, yes, but a lot of people who also have self control can throw caution to the wind when faced with a situation which requires them not to analyze and think so much, these are the very same people who when asked if they would sucumb to temptation scream and yell"hell no" when in the back of their minds they are planning their sinful act. What temptation island is offering is a chance for people to do "bad" things without being judged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you would eat the cheeseburger my friend, if the home cooked meal was miles away and no one cared.

If eating a cheeseburger meant that I would risk never being able to eat a home cooked meal again, of course I wouldn't do it. Besides, having eaten cheeseburgers before and knowing the pain of having to deal with the repercussions of all that extra fat (and the chance of finding a long black hair in my food), that's the one thought that keeps me sticking to my diet.

Okay!!!!!!!you win, this cheeseburger thing is getting out of hand, that was just an example, i don't even eat cheeseburgers. All I am saying is when a person is forced to deal with temptation a lot of surprising revelations are made, I mean think about it, they provide the bloody island(privacy factor), they provide the entertainment(the music, the sea,the goodlooking people, the food(not cheeseburgers),and they tell you its okay to let your gaurd down, you can do whatever the hell you please and no one has the right to judge you, HEY!!wait a minute!!!!!!!!they just provided the "opportunity". You also have a chance to win 1 million dollars just for having fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!Temptation island is a tv show that has brought to life millions of people's fantasies, people who claim they would not be tempted but have already shagged every bloody attracted person on that island in their dreams. As for the cheeseburger , please get over that.

I don't eat cheeseburgers either--you kept bringing up the metaphor, and I continued to run with it. I'm not even completely disagreeing with you about the idiots that are all on the island drooling over strangers. It's just that we're all faced with temptation every day, and it's not with the vapid pretty people that are on the show, it's with sexy coworkers, or your significant other's roommate, whatever. The problem with women is that they're psychotic and think that they're so great and that their boyfriends will never stray; the problem with men is that they can't just be happy with what they have--they're always thinking that they're something better out there. Can we move on to fish filet sandwiches now?

Anyway, you are right about men always thinking the grass is greener on the other side, and those who try to test the grass get burned in one way or the other.

8. "RE: To Tempt or not to tempt"
I think it more has to do with this idea that society has imposed on us that we always have to be happy, and that comprimise is just something that isn't necessary in relationships, and if we keep looking, we'll find that special perfect someone who has no demands and is a complete ass kisser. These people should only have a dog. and stop looking for human to fit that bill--I could get a lot more impassioned (empassioned?) it because it's what I'm going through now, but I won't.

The BOD says this....

Stay with the cheeseburger analogy and lose the HENRY MILLER quote. I get it.

As for men always thinking there is something greener out there - don't stereotype all men that way. Some of us are perfectly fine with the one mate that we do have. Do we still think other women are attractive? You bet. We are men for crying out loud. What am I, made of stone?

OK - I am heading for McDonalds. Who is with me?

The BOD.

10. "RE: To Tempt or not to tempt"
Of course I'm not trying to imply that all men have the same stupid views on women. I'm just saying that most of them do. I've spent most of my life trying to prove myself wrong, and I have many wonderful male friends--and most of them have cheated on their girlfriends at one time or another. I mean, I have too, but that's part of growing up and getting into adult relationships. It's not like these are 17 year olds ready to get married and have never dated anyone else.

Of course, on the other hand, I love watching this dramatic crap unfold--since they took Melrose Place off the air I've been sentences to 90210 reruns on FX--so let them do what they will. I'm not really judging them on their bad behavior, I just think that it's funny that after the show they have to return to real life and not everyone is going to look at them as instant celebrities, because most people will shake their heads. I think they have a much better deal than those poor Survivor chumps that have to eat worms. Ew.

As for my quote, I like it, so nanny nanny boo boo.

Everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from, everything we deny, denigrate or despise, serves to defeat us in the end. 13. "RE: To Tempt or not to tempt"
Look, I'm not taking myself too seriously or the show--it's obviously hard for someone to get their point across without 2 dozen people posting their arguements right down your throat. Like I was trying to say from the very beginning, I don't think that just because people are tempted by these people means it is "IMPOSSIBLE", as you said, to not cheat. By that rationale, no one would ever think it wrong to start hopping on every attractive person that smiled their way. Also, I don't even think cheating is such a bad thing--it's just a very obvious sign that you aren't really interested in saving your failing relationship, and you might as well get out while you still have a shred of dignity. I don't think that being faithful to someone you really love is that difficult, that's all. If you want to sleep around, just don't be part of an exclusive couple! Besides, I thought we were kind of agreeing on some levels, poopy pants. I'll change my quote and maybe it will appease you. By the way, it's meant to be humorous, not psychotic.

"The dumber people think you are, the more surprised they're going to be when you kill them."--William Clayton
