"}> Fairness on the Island......."
LAST EDITED ON 01-25-01 AT 00:16 AM (EST)

Just a note to all of you out there who believe in fairness on the island.....Here are a few facts.
Have you ever kept track of the video clips they show at the fire pit? To the girls, they see barely anything...a kiss on the cheek or some harmless dancing. To the guys....Billy gets a glimpse of a very indecent part of Mandy's date but meanwhile, Taheed gets to see Ytossie feeding her date Tom. Why didn't he get to see her kiss him instead of some baby treatment? Who cares about a wiped face? Or hand feeding?
The show seems to be trying to save grace where Taheed and Ytossie are concerned. It's funny how the couple struggling the most gets the breaks while one of the couples who seem to have it together are guided into a video war.
How does that seem fair? A simple game of temptation? More like a rigged game of war for the ratings.

The show's name isn't "Fairness Island". These people signed up, and probably signed away a lot of rights, for some quick fame and cash, so they're getting what they deserve.

Don't forget the psychological profiling......all the couples "made the cut" here, meaning the producers are betting they'll give us the most interesting show. All the stable couples that applied are sitting at home just like us.....these folks that we're watching are ripe for the splitting. Me, I'd like to see all their relationships fail, because I think there's something wrong with the couples that apply to be split apart by a TV network.

People don't want to see the couples see the truth in those videos (no matter what you think). They want dirt.....and the more the producers can stir up, the better. You may not agree, but this is what keeps the show interesting.

Exactly! It's all a manipulation. That's part of the twisted fun, though. Mess with the couples' minds. That makes for better tv and better ratings. Hell, i'm hooked.
If there was fairness, then who would watch? No controversies would be stirred and no one would be talking about the show. You gotta love it.
