Reality TV World Message Board Forums
PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats, but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are encouraged to read the complete guidelines. As entertainment critic Roger Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

"Reality TV is a New Old Idea"
Beleive it or not, that by creating programing that is going to depict human behavior, this will cause people will emulate this behavior. Its like the FCC not being able to do anything about trash radio. Radio stations take the 1st to allow trash talk to flood our airways. It is said if you dont like it turn it off. What of the children whos' parents listen to this, hoot and laugh at this.

The First Admenent didn't foresee "Mass Media".

Imagine a growing Country, growth beyond exspectations, and then crashing in the late 20's. Even thou The Great Depresion affected the city people more than noncity people, it left 30 years of wanting something better. In the 50's media made it real. TV gave a sence of beloning to all in life. Watching a program that shows a differant life than your own was ok. It's Entertainment. But when Entertainment is taken beyond the normal ream of life, and has to be scripted to make a buck, there is a problem.

I have never watched this stuff. I found this site by surfing. It was a topic of conversation at work today.

Lets not give shame to our Forefathers, lets hold up our values for our post and future Fathers.

Mass Media is controlling our airways.

Turn it off

Doesn't the same thing apply to serialized fictitious stories, such as Dickens' works in the newspapers of his day? Or for that matter, all literature?

Had I lived in the time of Shakespeare should I have boycotted the Globe Theater (though the word 'boycott' had yet to be invented)?

Why not take it all the way back to cave paintings?
