It's wierd, the dynamic of certain individuals vs how they are in a relationship. I personally am interested in how Nikkole plays out on the show, while I could care less about Tommy or the fate of their relationship. Her strong personality really shone last night and I'm so rooting for her in any case.
At the same token, Catherine and Edmundo strike me as completely dull individually, but I'm very interested in their relationship as a whole. The only thing I've noticed about Catherine is she's wearing more makeup now than when she was with Edmundo.
Genevieve need not exercise her debating skills when faced with Nikkole; she pales in comparison and has been exiled to Wimpland. And as for her turning over a new leaf? All due to her lack of people skills and nothing to do with her boyfriend. As for him, his voice is starting to get on my nerves and that single who got booted was right, he needs to relax.
Shannon and John are dull individually and as a couple, as far as I'm concerned. She needs to wipe the perma-grim off her face; if you look at the little slo-mo clip they show of couples at the beginning of their dates, her face doesn't change, move, nothing. I'm highly anticipating her emotional breakdown shown in the season previews. Maybe then she'll be of interest. And what was up with the backwards baseball cap thing at one point? Sorry, he's so boring, I can't remember which scene it was. I think it was mentioned here he looks like the guy from the Twisted Sister videos and the cap did nothing to help matters.
Just my observations. While the show gets more interesting, the people just get more ridiculous or boring. Except Nikkole, she rocks!
