LAST EDITED ON 04-21-11 AT 10:59 AM (EST)I seen two episodes. They're doing it different this year and I don't like it. I kind of liked the rotation because you saw more of each chef during their episode. I am liking Curtis Stone as host. *eyewaggle **runs from Boo Floating my cares away with Agman - 2011

I like the weekly elims better than the rotations.I was a fan of Celina Tio going into this (I loved her on Next Iron Chef). It's been disappointing to see her in the bottom so much. Naomi Pomeroy drives me a little crazy, but I started rooting for her when I found out what her charity is. I LOVED the bug challenge. I'd like to see it repeated in the next TC season, with chefs preparing bugs for the masses. I was disappointed that Curtis refused to taste some of them. Slice n' Dice's Sigpic Chop Shop 2004

LOL! When I peeked in over here and saw the thresd title, I was wondering why a golf topic was here. *snicker* Anyways... I love Curtis' accent too! He's a much better host than the old one. I was sorry to see John go last night b/c I liked him. Naomi? I can't stand! I like this format much better b/c it's not one shot head-to-head and lose and your out like the previous ones. BTW, do you call it puddin'? I call it pudding!

I like this format better, maybe because it is like the original. I think these chefs seem to have a harder time dealing with some of the challenges. The very first episode had 4 chefs who couldn't plate on an elimination challenge.I can't stand Naomi either, although her dishes always are on the top. She actually did a good thing in the beginning by organizing everyone, but she just kept going. I noticed that they all called it puddin also. Why does that one guy have a groomed unibrow? Major crossover next week when they cook for The Biggest Loser contestants. This show always makes me miss Tom and Gail.

Thinking why the masters on the first season were more familiar than these. Maybe most of them had been judges on Top Chef or guests on other shows of this kind.

Some either had their own cooking shows (Michael Chiarello, Rick Bayless) and some had really, really famous restaurants/jobs and yes, had been judges or talking heads on other shows (e.g., Hubert Keller, Art Smith, John Besh, Rick Tramanto, Wylie Dufresne, Graham Elliot, etc.). Therefore, anybody that watched the Food Network sometimes (or even PBS in the case of Rick Bayless!) would recognize some of the names. This crop? Not so much. -A Tribetastic Creation

Which is why the old format worked with there being different contestants for each round...the time commitment each chef would need to make to Top Chef Masters was seemingly a few days to a week at the most. This season, you needed to be able to commit to multiple weeks. Most true TOP chefs couldn't do that, I would think. -A Tribetastic Creation
