"Top Chef NY ep 4"
I really enjoyed the challenges this time, this show seems to have really gotten back on track. And I say that even though Rocco is my least favorite of the perennial guest chefs.

This was the teach them to manage their time episode, cooking for nimbob morning show hosts was a stroke of genius. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

The breakfast quickfire was wonderful. Honestly, who wants to spend a bzillion hours preparing breakfast? It may be the most important meal of the day if you're Quaker Oats, most of us are in too much of a hurry then. But I seriously want one of those egg decappers, what a totally cool tool.

Even more seriously, does anyone know how to spell bre-oshe? This isn't the first time this trivial term has come up on this show, and it seems to me hor'derves by another name, but it would help to know how to spell it, thank you. Breakfast hor'derves, fabulous concept.

Bacon is a plus.

ARRRRRRR!!!!

brioche

I was talking with a co-worker yesterday morning about Top Chef, and had questioned where were the little prizes that were so abundant (at least in my memory) in previous seasons, and lo and behold! the winner of the quick fire gets a Rocco cookbook and the winner of the elimination challenge gets Rocco's favorite tools. What a coinky-dink!

I, too, was most impressed with the egg decapper.

I enjoyed the show, but I thought it was pretty obvious it would be Alex. One, they commented several times on his upcoming wedding and two, don't they always say dessert is the killer on Top Chef? I think Richard said that last week and it was his smores that got him sent home.

I thought they ran through the Today show segment pretty fast - why did Kathie Lee spit out her food? Was it the Ken Doll's dish?
