shimane22 142 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Blistex Spokesperson" 04-10-09, 02:00 AM (EST) "Wouldn't this show be better with smart people?" I ended up watching The Hills with some girls from my dorm (I'm a guy), and I just don't get why it is so popular. It is boring! Seriously, 75% of this show is just banal conversation punctuated with vacant stares. The other 25% is overview shots of LA set to pop music. The situations are so obviously contrived and staged, yet it's "real" because they don't bother scripting the dialogue... this is unfortunate since Lauren and her friends so rarely have anything interesting to say. I think it would be much more entertaining if they filled the cast with brainiacs (there are people in LA with looks AND smarts). There'd still be drama, but with more wit and heart.
