This time we're really racing real-time against the racers, so here we go!

Updated for the Costa Rica Travel Agency spoiler.

Image from GlobeXplorer. Wonderful site!

SOHO, NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, USA
By Tribefan on Tarflies
Time: Morning, Thursday 7 July 2005
1. 3 families at Eastern Mountain Sports.
2. One of them black, other two white.
3. One with young child.
4. Each family in an SUV.
5. Car-plates from different states. One New Jersey, one Michigan.

Eastern Mountain Sports is located on 591 Broadway, at the intersection of Houston Street. The shop specializes in sport and outdoor apparel. TAR has had tasks making teams go to shops to pick up gear (TAR5 Calgary, edited out), so this may be a likely task. This information fits in with the Huntsville spoiler below, claiming that the race started on Thursday.

HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY, USA
By various posters over several forums, including DingoDan on Tarflies
Time: Thursday 7 July 2005
1. Washington Crossing Bridge closed.
2. Information from New Jersey radio station 101.5FM.
3. Explicit mention of The Amazing Race filming.
4. Filming expected to end before 6pm.

Fits in nicely with the first and next spoiler, but why would a radio station get wind of this, and announce it publicly?

DELAWARE RIVER, NEW JERSEY & PENNSYLVANIA, USA
Can't find primary source, reported by Ecdubfan on Survivor Sucks
Time: Thursday 7 July 2005
1. Caravan.
2. Mention of cluebox and tasks.
3. Unhelpful staff and cordoned off areas.
4. Alleged filming of tourism video.
5. Rowing of 'George Washington' across Delaware.
6. Six teams of four seen.

The visitor's center is on the intersection of Routes 32 and 532. I'll try to get a satellite image to try to match the places mentioned.

VIETNAM MEMORIAL, WASHINGTON DC, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, USA
By 1963Mustang on Survivor Sucks, reported here by Nomipomi
Time: About 11am, Friday 8 July 2005
1. Team with man, woman and two girls running from Vietnam Memorial to Korean Memorial.
2. Talked to a ranger, who was asked to sign confidentiality papers.
3. Ranger says their excuse was a 'tourism video'.
4. Cameramen and sound men seen.

The evidence seems to be strong, but a die-hard fan will know about the way TAR works with two crew members, confidentiality papers and the 'video' alibi. Fits in really nicely with the Dulles spoiler below.

RONALD REAGAN AIROPRT, ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA, USA
By Beau_20 on Thread #1
Time: About 11 to 11.30am, Friday 8 July 2005
1. Team seen from metro line running out of car.
2. Cameraman spotted.
3. Car marked with yellow and black flag.

Thanks Beau_20! I'll go check up on whatever's nearby. Could it be Crystal City? (Is it even an attraction?)

DULLES, WASHINGTON DC, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, USA
By T2 on TWoP
Time: About 7.45pm, Saturday 9 July 2005
1. Phil checking into United flight.
2. Phil with three 'production-types'.
3. Group lining up for business-class seats.

Would make sense given the above Vietnam Memorial spoiler, and this throws Toronto into the out-of-sync category. Something suspicious is that Phil has mentioned several times that he travels by Economy class. Why the change now?

ALBERTA, CANADA
By Rothschild on Thread #1
Time: In the near future
1. This will be the 51st state!

Little more information is given, so I cannot certify the authenticity of this spoiler. Did you get the information your uncle, who is a White House correspondant's cameraman? Random polls on people in Alberta seem to suggest that not much political activity is going on in plain sight, could that be CBS keeping everything under wraps? Or could this be a decoy? Could it be Nunavut instead?

SOUTH CAROLINA, USA
By The Huntsville Times
Time: Monday 11 July 2005
1. Teams took a bus to Huntsville, Alabama.

This is rather credible information, read on for more of my two cents.

MOUNT PLEASANT, CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA, USA
By Scwriter on Thread #1
Time: Monday 11 July 2005

Despite the lack of information, this spoiler goes well with the one above. Date fits nicely too.

SPACE CENTER, HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA, USA
By The Huntsville Times, reported here by Nomipomi; also by Ripley68 on TWoP; also by the New York Times
Time: Early Morning to Afternoon, Tuesday 12 July 2005
1. Teams arrived on two buses from South Carolina.
2. Teams headed to Huntsville-Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau, 500 Church St on Tuesday morning from midnight to 4am.
3. 8 to 10 GMC Yukons left the parking lot for the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
4. There were tasks involving the Aviation Challenge centrifuge, running to rocket park and the computer station at the Space Center.
5. The Space Center is possibly the Pitstop.
6. The Huntsville Marriot is the Pitstop hotel.
7. Clueboxes put on display only when necessary.
8. Only one team has been eliminated since the start.
9. There are still eleven teams this time.

After having so many spoilers with minimal information, we finally chance upon a generous one. Two separate spoilers basically saying the same thing, with the Pitstop description, the hotel, and the buses. Newspaper reports have rarely failed us. (I can't recall a time when they have.) I'll reckon this is the most reliable spoiler by far.

TALLADEGA, ALABAMA, USA
By The Huntsville Times, reported here by Nomipomi
Time: Tuesday 12 July 2005
1. Teams arrive from Huntsville.

From the same article as the Huntsville spoiler, so their reliability is linked.

POMP'S PILLAR, BILLINGS, MONTANA, USA
By FlamingCactusIT on Thread #1
Time: Unknown

Too little information to tell, but the locations mentioned (including the two below) are all local attractions, and are in line with the type of places that TPTB would send teams to.

CM RUSSELL ART MUSEUM, GREAT FALLS, MONTANA, USA
By FlamingCactusIT on Thread #1
Time: Unknown

Please read above.

UNDERGROUND MALL, HAVRE, MONTANA, USA
By FlamingCactusIT on Thread #1
Time: Unknown
1. Location has purple squares on sidewalk.

Please read above. Havre seems to be the most famous, if not only, place in Montana with purple squares on the sidewalk. It's for ventilation in a historical underground mall.

BARRO COLORADO, PANAMA
By Antennapedia on TWoP
Time: Saturday 16 to Sunday 17 July 2005
1. Americans spotted in white vans.
2. One team speaks French.
3. Cameras abound.
4. Teams were looking for the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute's boat dock.

As the racecourse veers south, one wonders why they cut through the entire Eastern coast and skips the entire western half of the United States. It's a second-hand source and descriptions are quite generic, there is a possibility that it's a hoax. Also, the witness sounds like an American ('doing field work'), so he should probably know about the race and how it works. Anyway, the Institute is on Barro Colorado Island, off Colon (where the Panama Canal ends) and not that really far way from Panama City.

INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA
By SWALoveField on Airliners.net
Time: Wednesday 20 or Thursday 21 July 2005
1. Phil spotted with female companion.
2. Phil claims he is on vacation.
3. Phil seemed guarded and sly.

Not impossible, given the other locations spoilered in Central America. Costa Rica remains a popular holiday destination for Americans. The excuse sounds real enough, and we do know that Phil travels with Bertram and Elise, who could be the female companion. Timing is also just right.

COSTA RICA
By Amazing_Racer on Metropolis Forums
Time: Unknown
1. Travel agency says teams booked a bus into jungle.
2. Teams did a Roadblock or Detour in the jungle.

Not much weight on this, since it did come after the believable Phil-sighting in Costa Rica. Also, I'm not sure if the travel agency will leak out such information out of the blue. People racers talk to have to sign release papers too, don't they?

BELIZE
By Evening on TWoP
Time: Unknown
1. Producer comments 'they will be here in July'.
2. When asked about Survivor: Guatemala, producer says 'the other one'.

Filming production leaks seem to be the most reliable. That's where I got information for the Singapore leg of TAR3 as well. If it's a personal contact, all the more likely it will happen. However, we don't know if it's another production that will film in Central America in July. However, some credance is added to the spoiler when rumours about the race being halted states racers being held in Belize.

MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA
By Bubbles442 on this board; also by ACGuy on Thread #1
Time: Afternoon, Saturday 30 July 2005
1. Crew sighted.
2. Teams rumoured to be around for the weekend.
3. Bubbles442 got some news from his/her supervisors.
4. There are five teams left at this point.
5. A team flew in from Chicago on NW1792, departing 9.00am and arriving in St. Paul at 10.34am, then departing again at 1.32pm and arriving 4.58pm in Montreal.
6. Other teams flew in through Toronto, on AC418 departing 4.00pm, arriving 5.10pm in Montreal. Not much difference there.
7. Flight from Toronto urged to leave on time as "crew was on board".

Fits in great with the Toronto spoiler! And we still have time to catch them in action. The problem: which came first, Montreal or Toronto? Also, ACGuy, are you ACCargo on this page? You seem to posting the exact same things.

QUEEN'S QUAY AND REES ROAD, TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA
By Romahnator on this board
Time: 11.30am, Saturday 30 July 2005
1. Team escorted by Romahnator to the Toronto Harbourfront to find the schooner Kajama.
2. Crew was around and Bertram appeared later.
3. No other team arrived for the next few hours.
4. CN Tower and Montreal overheard as later destinations.
5. Kids spotted.
6. Kajama cruises were affected by the race.

Strange to see the race pop back so close to where it started. It could mean a circular route though, and it's about time the race wrapped up. It's almost confirmed now, with the detailed descriptions, several sightings and the wonderful picture from BuffaloNY; this could potentially be a Final Five team. Some crazy spitballing, but why does this remind me so much of the fisrt leg of the Fantasy Race I had after TAR4, where the teams visited the Harbourfront, CN Tower and Niagara Falls?

DOWNTOWN, TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA
By Dave on TARflies
Time: Unknown
1. Teams approached an ice-cream stand.
2. Four girls and a family of four spotted.
3. Teams directed to Boston.

Not too reliable or concrete information, and the Boston clue does not fit well with all the other spoilers we've had so far.

TERRAPIN POINT, NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO, CANADA
By BuffaloNY on this thread; also by DrEmphy on Survivor Sucks
Time: 1.30pm, Saturday 30 or Sunday 31 July 2005
1. Clue box, with photographic evidence, sighted next to Horseshoe Falls.
2. Two teams are neck-and-neck, a third team is behind.
3. Team with two daughters is the last team to arrive.
4. After reading a Route Marker, the last team ran up a steep hill.
5. Cluebox was removed after the last team arrived.

I won't argue with photographs, this one looks really authentic! All the shadows are in the right places, and the dimensions are definitely correct. The hours of operation sign (Opens at 9.00am) do seem out-of-sync with what we have seen before, they usually are more professional-looking. SurvivorSucks posters claim that the sign has always been there. This spoiler pretty much backs the Toronto and Montreal sightings. Dates are all over the place though.

JOSEPH DAVIS STATE PARK, NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK, USA
By DrEmphy on Survivor Sucks
Time: Saturday 30 or Sunday 31 July 2005
1. Crew overheard to be going there.
2. Park heavily barricaded and guarded by cops and guards.

Since this goes with the previous few spoilers, I wouldn't put too much doubt on it yet. It seems logical for the race to head back to the United States to end off. There is a big possibility that this is a decoy, though.

TEAM SPOILERS
Nomipomi has raised the issue about Palpatine on Survivor Sucks claiming to have his son's family on FART (Family: Amazing Race, The). If we see a heavily-tattooed man, that's our guy, according to Palpatine.
1963Mustang suggests there is a team of a white man, woman and two girls in the race in Washington DC. They wore matching orange outfits on that day.
DrEmphy from SurvivorSucks says that the Final Three teams consist of three white families, each with two children. One contains a couple (light-haired woman) and two daughers, one about 17, the other about 12.
Dave of TARflies has seen a normal family of four and a group of four girls.

DISNEYWORLD, ORLANDO, FLORIDA, USA (Out-of-Sync)
By Codeqazplm on Forumsnet
Time: Friday 3 to Wednesday 8 June 2005
1. Teams wet.
2. Backpacks with tags.
3. Team with 'father, mother and two kids'.

Extremely vague information and incoherent with the bulk of the rest of the spoilers. Also, the start of June seems to early for the race with holiday differences in various states.

AIRPORT, DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA, USA (Out-of-Sync)
By Boxsir on Survivor Sucks
Time: Unknown
1. Cover-up people leaking information.

The lack of information on the date and source of information make this spoiler not as reliable as we hope it to be. However, this will link well with the Disneyworld start.

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA (Out-of-Sync)
By BBear on this board
Time: Friday 1 to Sunday 3 July 2005
1. Cluebox spotted on Fan Tan Alley.
2. No cameras nor racers spotted.
3. Cluebox removed within a few hours.

Canada holds a lot of local mini-races, so this may be part of one of them. Although the timing doesn't fit in, anything can happen. There are several attractions in the vicinity of Fan Tan Alley, and no Amazing Race watcher (enough to know about bickering couples and cameramen) will mistake the green box and flag design. Any comments?

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA (Out-of-Sync)
By Zuezueze on TWoP
Time: Night, Thursday 7 July 2005
1. Cluebox on square in downtown Toronto.

This spoiler seems to have been refuted by Bassoon291 on Survivor Sucks, whose e-mail reply from Dundas Square suggested that the filming on July 16 (huh?) was for the Samsung Race for the Torch. Very unlikely now that very reliable spoilers have appeared for Toronto at a later date.

INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, NORFOLK, VIRGINIA, USA (Out-of-Sync)
By MisterMcGee on TWoP
Time: Tuesday 12 July 2005
1. Filming was limited to the airport.

Very strange that filming only takes place in the airport. Is it a place for a charter flight, or anything else that can only take place in an airport? Biggest problem with this is that it takes place as teams are supposed to be in Alabama, based on the Huntsville spoiler, and teams took buses from S Carolina there, ruling out a connecting flight.

FERRY TERMINAL, THUNDERBIRD PARK, VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA (Out-of-Sync)
By Desertte on TWoP
Time: Night, Saturday 30 July 2005
1. Woman guarding locked cluebox.
2. Stand was red and yellow.
3. Woman replies to questionning that it is TAR.

This spoiler directly conflicts with the Niagara Falls one, with the flag colours being different. Also, the woman giving the game away so easily isn't in line with what we've had in the past. Plus, how do you combination lock a cluebox? My guess? It's another local race.

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, USA (Out-of-Sync)
By Dave on TARflies
Time: Unknown
1. Teams were directed here from Toronto.

The timing just doesn't fit well. It's almost certain that the teams were in Toronto the weekend of 30th July. If the Toronto part is true, teams will then head to either Montreal or Niagara Falls, and Boston's just a stretch for now.

The Toronto sighting was very much fun. We had tickets to cruise on the Kajama for 11:30. People are supposed to be checked in a half hour before sailing time. As we were walking along Lakeshore/ Queen's Quay at the intersection of Rees road a SUV stopped for the red light and a woman asked "where are the tall ships?" She had an Amazing Race clue folder in her hand. We told her it was up one block and to the right. We wished her good luck.

We ran to try and catch up to them. They were coming back around the power generating station at Harbourfront. My fiancee exclaimed "My god, they are racing with kids." They dropped part of their route info and another person picked it up and asked if they needed it. They said they didn't and had a new clue. I again yelled out good luck and the woman said "Look, it's our friend from before." (yes, I am kicking myself for not trying to buy the route info from the guy on the spot)

My fiancee and I went to board the Kajama and the officer said that only "people on the movie crew" were allowed on for awhile and said we would be delayed sailing. There were several people milling around, all with cell phones and binders they were hiding. We sailed out late.

When we returned to dock at 1:30, the same crew was waiting, but no teams. The ship headed back out for its 2:00 cruise. We hung around and heard them talking about needing shots of the CN Tower and needing to plan travel to Montreal. They went to the cell phones and were asking where the next team was and said it would be cutting it close because they had to board the ship for the next clue. Bert appeared 15mins later and they all left.

We were supposed to go the Jays game at 4, but instead got a camera and waited at the dock. The crew was back at 3:30, as was the Kajama. The crew boarded and climbed the foremast and put a remote camera up there. They were holding the boat. The cell phones rang and someone said "code red, code red" and ran off down the dock. The boat was delayed sailing for 20mins, but no other team showed up. The camera crew left and Kajama sailed.

We took several pictures of the activity, including Bert. As we were waiting after the boat sailed, the head of the crew came close by us and laughed at us. Thats why i am posting the spoiler. I would have not said anything and made this a nice private memory to enjoy while watching the show with my fiancee, but after sitting in the sun for 3 hours and missing a ball game to try and watch the show in action, only to be laughed at, I thought a spoiler was in order.

The Kajama was not due to dock again till 5:30, so whichever team was next was a full six hours behind. The driving of cars with New York plates in Toronto makes me wonder alot. I think alot of the delay was due to the holding of Caribanna because when we left Toronto the Gardiner and 403 (the freeways into Toronto's downtown area from NY and or the airport) were jammed into parking lots.

Thats all the details I have. Looking forward to the end. I overheard the crew discussing a pit stop, but I could not make out if it was in Toronto or Montreal. But I heard the words climbing and CN tower, so I think a roadblock was close.

Discuss amongst yourselves and ttyl.

It's possible that finding the "Kajama" was a detour that only one team chose so we don't know if the team you saw really does have a lead.

Yup, if we could see some pictures of this spoiler, that would lend an enormous amount of credence to your post and put you in the running for the 'Spoiler of the Season' label -- especially if you can show a picture of Bertram van Munster and maybe even of the team you saw as a way to help us figure out who might be amongst the final five teams in the race.

That'd be awesome if they did all those things in Toronto! I grew up in Toronto's downtown so it'd be real nice to see all of the familiar things on TAR.

I was on the Kajama just last year. Here's some 411: The Kajama and a picture...

The downtown is rather bunched together and the Kajama is only a few hundred yards away from the CN Tower so that certainly fits. The CN Tower is right by Union Station, which has trains coming in from everywhere and also has a subway station, plus gazillions of taxis to take them to the airport. It's about a 10-15 minute leisurely walk from Union Station to the boat, so teams can easily get there in 5-6 minutes by running -- and the boat can be a bit tricky to find if you're not from the area, so there's enough of a challenge.

Here's a map of the area with the boat location and places I've talked about above:

Thought I'd confirm that the teams did stop in Niagara Falls on or about 7/30 - 7/31. I took this picture on 7/31 at Terrapin Point next to the Horseshoe Falls. Note the new flag colors:

And a suspicious hand-written sign at the Cave of the Winds:

The finish line was, according to someone at survivorsucks, at another state park in the area. My guess would be Fort Niagara in Youngstown, which is about 10 miles up the road from NF.

Is this the American side or the Canadian side?

We were up on the American side on Saturday and Sunday for a wedding this week.

Oh I'll be pissed if we missed em.

Also- if they went to Niagara Falls, it would explain NY Plates in Toronto, as they probably flew into Buffalo, and rented cars in NY.

Two friends find a clue box at Terrapin Point at Niagara Falls at 2:15 pm on Sunday. They noticed a woman guarding the box. decoy, Decoy, DECOY. Four teams leave Montreal for Toronto. Pit stop. One team eliminated. Eliminated team is sent as decoy to Niagara Falls. Example: TAR7 Meredith and Gretchen the fourth place team is sent from Puerto Rico to Dallas Texas and spot where JFK was assinated in 1963. Meanwhile final three teams are racing to Miami and final finish line.

Good point, but my question is why would they go back to Miami again this season. Miami was the final destination TAR7. (Unless my memory is wrong) I have yet to see TAR end or begin in the same spot in any season, however it does look like they may have began in NYC again this year, but the last time I recall the starting line being in NYC was the 1st season. (Again, my memory may be off. My brain is a bit mushy lately)

I don't think anyone said they went to Miami.

The Early Show website is acting all crazy and the TAR8 one isn't up yet, but here's what I got from the source code: Ten teams - there will not be an elimination anywhere from New York to New Jersey to Pennsylvania to D.C. to Virginia to South Carolina to Alabama. Hmm, is that all in the first episode? (It's two hours, remember.)

Also, most of the teams are super generic, and our Final 3 isn't locked in yet. I do think that we have the fourth-placing team though. The family bios aren't out yet.

"RE: The Starting Line"

From the various mentions in press releases that TAR8 will travel "around the world" and that the teams will travel over 30,000 miles and from the various sightings which have been reported, I now have concluded that TAR8 does travel at least "around the Pacific" and visits locations that are English-speaking and in most cases have been visited before by previous TAR races so that the team members may be familiar with them. So the itinerary now looks something like this:

Leg One. New York to Washington, DC 205miles
Washington DC to Charleston, SC 447 miles
Charleston,SC to Huntsville, AL 404 miles

Leg Two Huntsville, AL to Taladega, AL 95 miles
Taladega, AL to Beliz City, Beliz 1109 miles

Leg Three Beliz City to Panama City, Panama 827 miles

Leg Four Panama City to Wellington, NZ 7447 miles

Leg Five Wellington,NZ to Sydney, AUS 1384 miles

Leg Six Sydney, AUS to Manila, PI 3898 miles

Leg Seven Manila, PI to Honolulu,HI 5304 miles
Leg Eight Honolulu, HI to San Francisco, CA 2395 miles

Leg Nine San Francisco, CA to Jackson, WY 732 miles

Leg Ten Jackson, WY to Toronto, Canada 1557 miles (note may be included in Leg nine)
Leg Eleven Toronto to Montreal 314 miles
Montreal to New York,(or Boston) 320 miles

This gives us a total of 26,438 miles

Locations are selected for English speaking ability. English is the primary language in Beliz, Panama and The Philippines

There probably is local travel in and around these locations which would account for an additional 3,600 miles

If there are the usual 13 legs, then some locations may include more than one leg.

Way to mess with people's heads - send them across the Pacific from east to west and then 2 days later send them back again. They will lose track of the days crossing the International Date Line twice in such a short space of time.

My friend went on a cruise years ago and had her birthday the day they crossed the IDL - heading east. It then immediately became the day before, so the next day, she had another birthday.

Reality TV races past Fort Benton

By DAN HOLLOW
Tribune Staff Writer

FORT BENTON — The local folks helping out were sworn to secrecy, but by the end of the day Friday, it was no secret what had just come up the Missouri River downstream from Fort Benton.

No, it wasn't another batch of adventurers retracing the steps of Lewis and Clark.

The visitors were a film crew and an undetermined number of teams from the CBS hit reality TV show "The Amazing Race," according to Fort Benton resident Colleen Lulf.

Lulf said the only excitement expected this week was the homecoming football game Friday night between the Longhorns and the Malta Mustangs (final score Fort Benton 14, Malta 20).

But midweek, rumors began to swirl.

At the 7th and 8th grade football games Wednesday night, a woman overheard someone talking in a loud voice about a "big secret" of some "doings on the river."

Then, a local restaurant owner was seen in the grocery store buying vast quantities of food for breakfast burritos, and later, the restaurant owner was heard leaving town to deliver the food in his pickup. It was known for being noisy, Lulf said.

"In a small town, it's hard to totally keep a secret," she said. "People are used to a pattern, a set rhythm of life."

Lulf's first encounter with the buzz came when she was getting dropped off at Coal Banks Landing Thursday. She had ferried a Jeep to Judith Landing at the other end of a popular stretch of canoe trip through the White Cliffs area.

Her husband, John, works for a river tour business in the summer but teaches in the winter so Colleen was helping out with a friend.

As they drove down a hill toward the river, "we were amazed to see a fleet of fast moving boats sweep around the bend and race up the river," she said. Then more boats came by, and then some more.

Lulf's first reaction was there must be some bigwigs afloat because there is a "no wake" rule on the Wild and Scenic stretch in the summer, and upstream motorized travel is not allowed.

But the motorized restrictions, which start the weekend prior to Labor Day, are lifted the weekend following Labor Day.

The next morning, a friend told Lulf of "The Amazing Race" rumor. Some young men about town had been hired to drive, but had been sworn to secrecy and had to sign some kind of agreement not to talk.

"So, that's what it was, my friend and I concluded," Lulf said. "They had filmed part of 'The Amazing Race' downstream from our little, usually quiet town."

According to CBS, "The Amazing Race: Family Edition" features teams of four family members and will first air in a two-hour segment Sept. 27. This is the eighth edition of the two-time Emmy Award-winning show, in which contestants race around the globe, encountering challenges at each local stop, in pursuit of a $1 million prize.

This episode reportedly includes segments filmed on the East Coast, in Central America and at Niagara Falls.

"Even though I've only seen the show in passing a few times, I am excited to see the upcoming segment, whenever it might be on," Lulf said. "After all, I'd been witness to part of the actual race."

Lulf's husband John was not as thrilled.

"You think you'll have a nice, quiet canoe trip and a bunch of motor boats come by," he said

Cool! But I can't work out when the dates are...

Can we find out if anything official was seen? Not much links this to TAR except the conjectures of the residents.

The crew and some others were just in Great Falls, MT. About 10:30 tonight they were here trying to film in a local restaurant. Without saying much more they were unable to film at that location due to our policies against such things. This would go in with them being in Fort Benton yesterday, around 45 miles away, and plans to be in Havre around 100 miles away.

Hmm. The rest of the spoilers seem to suggest that the race ended quite a while ago. Is this for some scenery shooting? But if it were, there's really not so much need for the secrecy, would there?

I spoke to the woman's husband John Lulf himself . The motorized boats were seen this past week, he really doesn't know if it was the Amazing Race but said there was definitly something going on because of the heavy traffic and all the activity and camara crews so.. ? I just assume now that it was some other show being filmed sorry its not an Amazing Race spoiler afterall .

Hey those maps look good. Except according to one preview it seems that teams after leaving the hot dog stand at Lexington Avenue and E. 91st street, that they go across town on 96th Street and then up the West Side Highway to the George Washington Bridge to cross into New Jersey and then pick up the New Jersey Turnpike to drive south to Route 1 exit near New Brunswick. Yes, the crossing through the Lincoln Tunnel would be shorter, but not as visual as the GW Bridge crossing (hard to have airial shots of cars going through the tunnel under the river). I imagine that the teams receive instructions from the former TAR team at the hot dog stand (Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs??) to travel across the George Washington Bridge.

More on the Billings Montana location spoiler .
While searching on-line I came across this blog ..terrestrialball
The Amazing Race: A Rumor
Now that the Amazing Race has started, the rumor mill is grinding. I heard a rumor a month or so ago that the Amazing Race contestants had been in Montana. And in Billings no less. But today I heard another rumor from a pretty reliable source. Not only were the Amazing Race contestants in Montana but the pit stop for that particular point in the race was a ranch not more than 45 miles from where I live! Whether this is all true or not remains to be seen. But this is the way I heard it. The Race leaves Cody, WY and heads for Fishtail, Montana through Red Lodge. They camp at the ranch for their mandatory rest period and then head off to the airport in Billings. Which means they had to pass by the town I live it! This is all too exciting! This is all speculation, however, but it sure makes the race fun to watch.

I replied and got a response from the poster above..
Here is the scoop the way I heard it. I know ________ that
own a ranch near the Fishtail/Absarokee area in Montana. He told us a week
after the Race had started that one of the pit stops would be at this ranch.
I guess they filmed it sometime during July but he didn't pinpoint exactly
when. He also never told us how many teams were left at that time. He has
never watched Amazing Race so I don't think he would be making it up. He
told us that they wanted a "real" cowboy to greet the contestants so it must
be a pit stop. He also told us that the winners of that leg of the race win
a car because they had to bring it out to the ranch. He said some of the
teams had to leave in the middle of the night to drive to the airport in
Billings which also leads me to believe it is a pit stop. So unless the
Amazing Race films fake footage to throw people off I am pretty sure this
happens.

I can't see the Race going through Yellowstone Park because of the terrible
road conditions and traffic. The road between Cody and Red
Lodge/Fishtail/Absarokee area is two lane and not great but the traffic
isn't too bad. If they do drive it, they will have to watch out for
wildlife, deer, etc. because they are always in the road. If they are going
into Yellowstone Park, they could have been planning to go to Red Lodge via
the Beartooth Highway, which would have been awesome, but we had landslides
this spring and the road has been closed all summer. Maybe they had to make
a detour through Cody to get to Red Lodge. Kind of a round about way but it
would be one of the only ways to get to Red Lodge from Yellowstone Park
because of the road closure. This is all just speculation.

I absolutely love The Amazing Race. It is a great show!
