Hi peeps!! It was brought to my attention that in my last post I never said secret santa and I need to rectify that oversight. I have shamelessly stolen creatively acquired the guidelines from Pepe's post from last year and hopefully he will be honored since he is wise and very organized.

It's getting to be that time of the year again... and you know what it is -- it's time to tell Santa if you've been a good or bad boy/girl this year while you fill out your wish lists.

This is going to be a two-part assignment, so I'm going to break out my collection of whips if it's not adhered to. (yes, that was Pepe but don't think for a minute that it isn't possible that I, too, have whips and chains, bwahahaha)

Part 1

Post in this thread:
1. Your likes
2. Your dislikes

This is also a LAST CHANCE to sign up if you haven't already done so! Cut-off is next Friday(Oct 28) because I need to start matching up potential giftees for PM'ing over the weekend (hopefully). I want to give people time to shop and ship with the intent of everyone getting their packages by mid December (the 20th at the latest) before schedules get too crazy.

Part 2

Send a PM (red wavy flag) to me:

1. Identify your full name or user ID you want shown on the address for package to sent to you
2. Your address
3. Whether you'd have an issue with sending a gift over the border (either way to the USA or Canada)
4. Whether you'd have an issue with sending a gift overseas to the United Kingdom or the Philippines (take a look at what it'd cost to send a typical smallish package from your area)
5. Your past giftees that you've sent to and gifters you've received from -- my goal is to have 100% new gifters/giftees for each of you this time(or at least I am going to try very hard).

A few of you have already sent your PMs, but do add any extra info from above if you haven't mentioned it already in your original PMs.

Please post and PM at your earliest convenience to allow for the most flexibility in matching up peeps and to give plenty of shopping/shipping time.

Hup, hup, hup, let's go!

Here's the list of people who have said they're participating (at least as far as I understood it) so far. Please advise if I've left anyone out or you don't want to be included. Thanks!

You were not tardy, it was my mistake as I didn't have secret santa in the title (or those words anywhere in the post) so I apologize to you and everyone else for that oversight.

I won't be part of this year's SS, but please feel free to send gifts. Anything over $250 would be very much appreciated.

Yay! I love SS! I will say right now that I won't be opening my gifts until Christmas Day.

Things I would rather not receive - candles, reed difusers. Remember, I sell PartyLite, so I already have lots of those type of things.

Things I like - just about anything, but here are a few ideas. You don't have to follow the list though.
Chai tea, fruity tea
Calendars with animals or pretty scenery
Bath & Body Works Orange Ginger anything except Body Wash
Food products, especially candy
Dragonflies
Jewelry (longer necklaces, bracelets at least 7 1/2 inches, pierced earrings)
Starbucks (I drink their chai)

It's beginning to feel a little like Christmas.

Likes:
Food stuff - salts, peppers, spices, salsas, dips, cheese
Pint glassses from local bars, breweries
Magnets - again local
Local T-shirts,sweatshirts - the odder the better (prefer white or bright tees, no blacks, no major sports teams, local teams are great - size M)
Cotton scarves - I wear these all the time so would be well used
Big Ol Bracelets

Dislikes:
Coffee
Tea
Dark Chocolate (my palate is like a five year olds when it comes to sweets)
Smelly stuff

If you stay away from the dislikes, I really am pretty open to anything.

Also pasting from last year's thread (Thanks Max!)

Me Likey:
Books
DVD's (comedy/action)
New England Patriots
Golf
Something representing your home town (I have coffee mugs from Michigan and Pittsurgh that I lvoe!)

Me No Likey:
Candles
Bath products
Food items/teas/coffees (sometimes these get trapped at customs).

As an aside, I must chuckle at the last comment with respect to customs given the nightmare Estee had last year sending me my prezzies! Hope that snafu can be avoided this year.

First, let me get my present for Woe out of the way, use it well:

Here's my list:

Likes
- Anything that is representative of your home area/state
- Golf/football/baseball
- Mental puzzles, crosswords, kakuro/cross sums
- Coffee-related stuff
- iPad2 or Samsung Galaxy Tablet
- Books
- Fun munchies (chocolates, any others, but not jelly-ish or licorice-ish), especially if it's something unique to your area

Dislikes
- Heavily scented stuff as my nose doesn't react well to strong scents from things like candles, potpourri, cologne or perfume ('subtle' works, though)
- Anything to do with the Yankees
- Christmas ornaments
- Anything related to music

I'm sure there's more, but not off the top of my head at the moment. Will come back and edit if I think of anything else soon.

I'd like a pony.

Okay, a MLPony:FIM 1st season DVD/Blu-Ray set.

...actually, I'm waiting to buy that for myself and it probably won't be out by Christmas anyway... at least, it's not on the Amazon preorder list yet...

It's pretty much as per usual. No clothing (because you will not get my sizes right) and no socks, nothing deliberately intended to send me through the nearest roof -- sending me a You Can Convert To Scientology Now! kit is not going to strike me as a riotous joke -- and nothing I can't use because it's out of region (e.g. gift cards for chains that don't exist in my area).

The Like list is also pretty standard. I'll always look at an interesting DVD set, book, or something animation-related. Exotic foods and ingredients get my attention, bath products of all sorts (mild scents), gift cards for the nationals or a regional, a musician I haven't heard of (favoring instrumentals), general exotica & strangeness, and there should be enough hints sitting among my posts for people to pick something out.

Or you could get me a Rarity.

No, literally. She's the white one with the purple mane.

There's one fashionista whose existence I can stand. So naturally she's fictional.

Thank you, Woe, for taking this project on!

Edited to say, my number one gift request would be for the new cookbook from the Voltaggio brothers - "Volt ink".

I love G & M crabcakes and Rheb's assorted dark chocolates, but I don't want anyone to break the bank buying SS presents.

I like Lush anything, special soaps, souvenirs from your hometown, or Christmas ornaments. Special Christmas CDs are also welcome.

Edited to mention a few more things- cookbooks, especially oriental style cooking, and calendars with cats on them. Edited to say, my number one gift request would be for the new cookbook from the Voltaggio brothers - "Volt ink".

I don't want coffee or tea, wine, or alcohol. I do enjoy chocolate, but I don't like truffles.

So far I am very proud of the majority and very grateful that you have sent your PM's in a timely fashion. These are the peeps I still need PM's from:

Everyone's done great here now and I do apologize that I haven't yet done the matching up part but little woe got sick and has been in bed with bronchitis the past few days, so it may be this weekend before I get to it. HOWEVER this does give peeps a little more time to jump in (always looking for the bright side ya know?)

These are the peeps who need to leave a post on this thread as to their likes/dislikes in the next few days (if possible) as I will be sending out the assignments this weekend as it would be good for your santa to know what to do for you, otherwise they may feel free to use previous years lists:

Karchita(has been very busy but will get here when time allows)
Snidget

And if anyone else wants to jump in last minute, that is fine also, the more the merrier

I'd like to jump in, please.

For some reason every year when secret santa rolls around I'm feeling scroogey and like I should crawl under a rock, so every year I think I'm just not going to do it. Then at the last second I decide that I should do it anyway.

So, is there room for me?

Probably the one & only present I will be getting this year. Plus one of the few areas of my life where you listen (or in this case read) what I am saying instead of interpreting. <Sorry having a bad day>

Likes:
-a REALLY large mug for tea - bigger the better
- tea (leaves not bags I use a bodum tea pot and no roobious- red tea to those unfamiliar)
- candles (no scent as I usually burn 50 or more candles at the same time)
- flavoured cooking oils or hot sauces (esp. if local to you) or any regional food/spice local to you
-books, I read sci fi/fantasy, self help, business/money and if you just make a suggestions about your favorite book of all time I'll try and take it out of the library and read it
-bonus (for me) if you add your favorite cooking/baking recipe that's easy (ie not dirtying every pot and pan in the kitchen) but great I would really enjoy that

Dislikes:
X-mass stuff
things I would have to dust later (remember I already have 50 or more candles around my place and a cat)
anything to put on fridge

A Motorcycle.
A Brough Superior SS100 should do it. Anyone remember Lawrence of Arabia? Get in cahoots w/Starshine to sneak it out of the museum.
A Tatoo.
I like the ones on this girl, so just send her over so I can get the complete picture. She'd also look good on the back of my new motorcycle. Or the front, if she'd like to drive.
The Taj Mahal.
A full-size replica will do. It will need air conditioning throughout. My current home is too constricting.
An Island.
Vatu Vera is for sale. Buy it for me, and don't quibble. From the looks of it, I'll place The foonerTaj© on top.

DO NOT WANT:

A Hausfrau. Some of you may want to send me one, heck, some of you may be one , but I am not Jackie Gleason and I do not trans-ship to the moon.
A Stonefish. It will never match the 34.99/lb fresh Chilean Sea Bass I'm going to buy this weekend. OTOH, if I ever make dinner for the ex-wife, I may reconsider. I'll give this one a "fooneriffy".
A Tar-Paper Shack. I already live in one, thank you, and the property taxes for a double lot would kill me.
A Ford Escort. I have an image to maintain. Donate it to a member of "Occupy Whatever" for their jaunty evenings with a bottle of Ripple by one of the city's drainage ditches.

Handmade by the incredibly talented Syren

Chocolate and Red Wine of course!
Cheese. We like cheese!

Likes:
- Coffees, teas, cocoas, and very large mugs, large travel mugs.
- Chocolate (dark)
- Cookbooks (my current interests are do-it-yourself projects, like bread baking and cheesemaking, preserving, etc.)
- Fun Socks. I have a pretty simple, plain wardrobe but I do like crazy socks.
- Small, simple jewelry and accessory-type clothing. (Winter scarves, gloves, etc. I've never been a hat person but maybe I just haven't found the right hat.)
(the wonderful byoffer gifted me the best mittens in the world last year, so I'm all set with those - they're never leaving my hands.)
- I have a Kindle, so if my Santa likes giving gift cards, I'd easily put an Amazon.com card to good use

Would prefer not to have:
- Candles (two small kids + candles do not mix)
- Soaps/perfumes/most scented things
- Tchotchke/Decorations/things that sit on shelves (I'm still trying to declutter my life so I've been steadily getting rid of "stuff". Still. Going on three years now.)

Thanks for organizing this year, Woe!

The last couple of gift exchanges I've drawn Canadians. Mailing to Canada isn't a problem, but having to list the contents on customs forms eliminates the surprise inside the package.

edit: especially shipping to byoffer, which occurred during the Canada Post strike so I had to use UPS to get his T-shirt to him on time.

Last year I drew MC as my giftee, and I ordered 2 books through Amazon. There was no problem, and the books got there quickly.

There were 2 more books I wanted to send her, but they would not ship to Canada. That was the only problem.

The added benefit of ordering through Amazon was that MC could not figure out who her SS was.

Thank you SG, I appreciate that. I have had 2 people bring me chicken noodle soup this week. And I ate all of it since I have not had an appetite all week. I thought I had a head cold on Saturday and by Sunday it was in my chest. That night I tried to drink juice and it came back up so I have been leary of anything but water and tea. But the soup has helped and I have managed to keep it down. Still alot of chest congestion but the fever is down so that is a good sign.

Oh dear. I am late. However, my suggestions are basically the same as last year, including the losing weight part.

I am very easy to please. I just like the idea of Secret Santa; the "stuff" is quite secondary.

Likes:
• I would love a few new cool siggies, whether you do it yourself or get someone to help. Really. I would love this.
• If you could somehow arrange for me to have more hours in the day, I would like this very much. (I've been totally overwhelmed with work lately.)
• I have collected postcards since I was a child and I would love a few postcards of your area.
• Edibles are always appreciated, and I love chocolate, but small portions only please as I am still trying to lose weight.
• Cookbooks and fridge magnets would be great or anything homemade or that makes me laugh.
• Surprises.

Dislikes:
• Strong scents and knick knacks.
• Christmas stuff. I actually like it, but I don't need any more.

Also whoever gets me doesn't need to worry about getting it to me early as I will be on vacation in early and mid-December.

Many thanks in advance!

I was going to bump it today to add that I would like peeps to PM me when they do ship so I know things are on the way and then again when you get them so I can keep track. I believe the international should already be on it's way or very soon anyway. And the over the border ones as well need to be shipped in the next week to ten days (I believe) to make it by the 17th deadline.

I have pm'd and emailed all my peeps and we are down to the final 2 on the list who I HAVEN'T heard from yet Great job!!

I was coming in to today and am glad this thresd is fairly close to the top of page 1.

I have an MIA list:

dragonflies

Sharnina

I need to hear from the peeps on the list as to whether you have sent your packages or will be shortly.

I am very proud to say everyone else has PM'd me that they have sent and or received

I may have to PM them all tomorrow if I don't get a response here today as I have to work later today so don't have time to get it done before tomorrow.

I am hoping all is well with everyone but PLEASE, if there are any issues, let me know so we can get them resolved.

Thank you!

Decided it was easier to read if I took out all the peeps I heard from instead of the strikethroughs. Thanks to all who replied so quickly!

Who got on a horse with a curple
And off he did ride

And right into a whirlpool..

You didn't say it had to be good, you just said a rhyme for purple...I gave you two.

Agman made me pretty 2011

Hurple is a Scottish word still used in Scotland. It means to hobble or walk with a limp.

Curple is a strap under the girth of a horses saddle to stop the saddle kicking forward
