Come on in guys! Welcome to another season of Survivor PTB. This is the sign up thread for anybody interested in playing for this season. All players are welcome whether you have played this game before or not, give it a try- you will have fun.
Several things have changed this year, so please read the rules carefully. I have toyed with different ideas for this game, I have even asked for your feedback, and I have decided to try something a little new and alot the same. This year you get to choose which Level of play suits your game strategy and amount of risk/reward you would like to have.
This is S11 PTB Guatemala- The Mayan Empire and so I have selected 3 of the Mayan Gods to represent the Levels of game play.

Level 1 is named after Ekchuah, who is the God of War. At this level you will start off with the fewest number of picks and no guaranteed immunity, but through challenges and lotteries you will have ample opportunity to earn all kinds of extra picks and immunties. If you feel confident in your ability to do well in the challenges (Please check the links below to see what a few of the challenges were like from last season.), then this level is the one for you. This is a great level if you choose to play as a Red Inker because of the additional immunities (You do not need to pick the bootee on a week that you have immunity). This level is identical to the way the game was played last season.

Level 2 is named after Camaxtli, who is the God of Fate. At this level you will start off with 32 picks but will be able to choose each week whether you want to participate in the weekly lottery. In the lottery you have the opportunity to earn many more picks. You will start the game with 1 immunity, and you will not have opportunity to earn more. When you do decide to use your immunity, you will sacrifice 10 points and 5 picks. This is a level for those who don't wish to participate in the challenges but yet want to have the chance to win more picks and therefore increase their score.

Level 3 is named after Naom, who is the God of Mind and Thought. At this level you will play the traditional game of PTB which is you start with 50 picks and 1 immunity with no chance to earn more of either throughout the season. This level is for those that would like minimal participation each week and don't want to feel like they are in jeopardy of running out of picks. Chosen wisely, you can get through the season and have plenty of picks left over to turn into points at the end.
So there you have it, you choose your Level based on your style of play. You can declare the Level in this sign up thread, or you can wait until the week 1 entry thread. If you know you are going to play for the Red Ink crown, you can also let me know in this thread, or in your week 1 entry thread, but no later than week 2. All players regardless of which level you choose will all be vying for the two crowns. Once the game starts, you can't change level, so think it over and choose wisely.

Pick the Bootee Game Rules & Scoring
1. The object of this game is to pick the Survivor who will be booted each week. Week’s 1 and 2 will be Safe Weeks meaning if you fail to list the correct bootee you will remain in the game. Beginning Week 3, if you fail to list the correct bootee you will be eliminated from the contest (unless you have immunity or declared immunity). 2. I will accept late entries (People who didn’t join in week 1 but do in episodes 2 & 3) but you will begin the game at (-5) points and lose 5 picks for each episode you miss. For instance if you enter prior to episode 3 you will start with (-5) points and 40 picks. It will be difficult to catch up, but I will do this to encourage as many entries as possible.
3. Scoring. You receive 5 points each week you list the correct bootee. You also receive 3 points for each vote any non-booted player on your list receives. You will lose 3 points for every Survivor you list who does not receive at least one vote. It may help you stay in the game, but it will hurt your overall point total. Failure to pick the bootee will net you (-10) points and you will be eliminated from the game beginning Week 3, unless you have immunity. Here is a hypothetical example of week one. Let’s say Mia gets the boot with four votes. Dolly receives three votes and Ami one. Player A had Mia, Dolly, Ami, Lisa, Leann, and Twila listed. They receive 5 points for Mia’s boot, 9 points for Dolly’s votes and 3 points for the Ami vote. They lose a total of 9 points for having Lisa, Leann and Twila listed. Their score (minus bonus points) is 8 points. Red Inkers are trying to get the lowest score. All players must make a decision before week 3 of the game. If you start off slow you may want to declare red ink. Once you have declared red ink, I will go back and edit your scores to reflect the – points for the early bird.
4. Bonus points. Each week you will have the opportunity to vote on the Team Immunity and Reward Challenges, and later Individual Immunity and Reward Challenges as well as picking the first confessional. These are all optional and do not count as “picks” against your total. Scoring is as follows. For the team challenges you get 2 points for correctly guessing the winning team or lose 2 points for an incorrect guess. You can gain or lose up to 4 points here. For individual challenges a correct guess is worth 4 points, an incorrect guess is (-4) points. The odds are greater, so the reward is greater. The first confessional is very risky so it is worth 10 points if you correctly guess who gives the first confessional. An incorrect guess nets you (-5) points. At the end of each episode whoever has the highest weekly score receives five bonus points. If two people tie they split the bonus points (2.5 each). If 3-5 tie, they each get one bonus point for best weekly score. More than 5 equals no bonus points. (There will also be a –5 points for the lowest of the Red Inkers)
5. Weekly entries. Each week list as many or as few Survivors as you like. You will be able to see how many picks you have left before posting your entry. If for any reason you fail to post an entry or immunity, you will be out of the contest. In order to qualify for the Early Bird points you must submit an entry by 7:59pm on the Monday before the show. Early bird entry will get you 20 bonus points (-20 for Red Inkers). The Regular entry deadline has been changed to 7:59pm EST the day of the show. You may not edit or add a post after the deadline. There is no penalty for late entries, if you are after the deadline you will have no entry for the week. I’ve decided to implement this change so spoilers don’t have a huge advantage over non-spoilers.
6. Starting Picks Level 1 will start with 16 picks, but through the lottery and reward challenges you will have the opportunity to earn many many more picks over the course of the series. Level 2 will start with 32 picks and can increase your allotment by participating in the lottery. Level 3 will be limited to 50 picks for the entire series. You can list as few as one (very risky) or one less than the number of Survivors remaining. For instance if 4 remain you can only list 3. However the more you list early, the fewer picks you will have left in the end. I will keep a weekly total of picks used, and at the end of the series if you have survived, you get one bonus point for each pick you did not use. For instance if you used 27 picks, you get 23 bonus points. This hopefully will create some interesting strategy!
7. IMMUNITY (For those playing at Level 2 or 3 only) Beginning week 3, and ending the week prior to the Final Four you have the option of declaring “Immunity” for the week. If you are going out of town, or just have no idea of who may be booted a certain week simply type in the word “Immunity” in your title bar and you cannot be booted that week. This must be done by 7:59pm EST and you cannot later edit, or choose to pick potential bootees. If you choose this option it will cost you a ten point penalty (-10) and five picks. However it insures you see the following week. Each person who chooses to play the game as a Level 2 or Level 3 may use this only ONCE the entire season.
8. Reward and Immunity challenges (For those playing at Level 1 only) Starting Week 2 you will have Reward and Immunity challenges where you try to win extra picks and/or Immunity. Immunities earned during the challenges will be used at the next weeks entry. The potential to win immunity every single week is high, conversely a player may not ever win immunity- that is up to how well your tribe or how well you do individually in the challenges. The reward challenges will always offer chances to earn additional picks.
9. Bonus Picks- The Lottery (For people playing at Level 1 or 2 only) Each week you will have the opportunity to “wager” a small amount of picks in order to try to gain what could be a substantial amount of picks. Sometimes the lottery will be based on a survivor occurrence that you have predicted, or it could be a straight up luck of the draw based on any number of ways. Each week the instructions will let you know what the wager is and what the lottery measure is, and then you still have the option to participate or sit it out.
10. At the end of the final episode, all who remain will add their unused picks to their point total. Whoever has the highest score wins! If no one picks the ultimate S11 winner, the highest point total will win. (The lowest scorer will be crowned the Red Ink Champion.)
