"RE: OTCC: Cowboy Beef Stew and Corn Maze Champion Snicker Apple Pie" Posted by samboohoo on 10-08-10 at 12:38 PM

It turns out okay, I promise. I think the original recipe is made for the 3-4 pounds of beef. I only use two 1-lb. packages, which usually comes out to be about 2.25 or so. When I made it last Sunday I actually thought I didn't have enough beef. I have a 6-quart crock, and a smaller one. I do this in the 6.This amount of flour actually does make it "stew," which I learned and always considered to be thick. I've heard beef stew called stew when it was not thick, and I liken that more to soup. Hopefully that makes sense. You may have to adjust your salt & pepper (*breaks into song, salt, salt, salt & peppa's here, and we're in effect. Want you to push it yeah . . .* I did that just for you because you would totally do something like that). DH always adds more, but I rarely do. Samboobree, brought to life by Arkie
