MKitty 2975 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Howard Stern Show Guest" 05-27-10, 04:18 PM (EST) "Format Change...again" I am shocked to read about the format change: http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/mia-michaels-so-you-think-you-can-dance-format-changes-win-win-11030.php Let's see how it unfolds tonight, but it really, really changes the show. Sounds like they are trying to take a page out of Dancing with the Stars by pairing the "pro" with the "newbie". Well, maybe not always "pro", but at least someone more "seasoned". Hmmmm...not sure how I feel about this. Throw in your comments as it unfolds tonight! I have no idea how it will go but I am a tad skeptical. Don't get me wrong, I am really excited to see the "returning" stars...but hey, they already had their chance and now they are taking away TEN spots from aspiring new dancers who have NOT had their chance for their 15 mintues of fame. I don't think it is fair to the newbies. I want to see lots of new talent..not just ten. How do we then whittle it down to top ten if everyone is already there? How do we "discover" the diamonds in the rough that start to shine after week 5? ARGGH...I just don't know... Yup, still very skeptical... "RE: Format Change...again" I think this might be a very good change in light of the fact that, in the past, some of the very good dancers have been paired with the not-so-good dancers (if there is such a thing on this program). I prefer seeing 20 NEW dancers. I enjoy watching them come into their own over the course of a show, and by reducing the finalists in half, the producers don't give us as much time to get to know the contestants. I much prefer getting to know new dancers. The previous competitors had their chance, and I enjoyed them then. This is now. I want to know that everyone on stage wants the America's Favorite Dancer title. I don't want to have to focus on faces to figure out which are new and which are seasoned to the show. I find that way too distracting. If the producers want to showcase earlier dancers, fine - but do so in a weekly number. Mix the new with the old in that way. Can you imagine the advice these contestants are getting?!? That's got to be so beneficial and invaluable to these dancers - especially when they are dancing out of their own style (i.e. Jose and Cristina). I think we will see even MORE growth from these guys than ever before. It will be hard to concentrate on the newbies.
