thechicokid 11 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Got Milk? Spokesperson" 02-15-12, 07:19 PM (EST) "Performance Advice" Anyone have any advice on performing? I am thinking about entering this karaoke style contest and they say they are looking for entertainment more than anything else. "RE: Performance Advice" Get up and perform in front of as many people as possible in as many different venues as possible. You have to get over the nerves (they may not go away but you learn to use that energy) so you can find your authentic performance style. Sure you could do the wear a silly costume or do some other schtick which will likely at least get you a few minutes of air time, but they usually don't go far as they are just putting something on to get attention rather than having it arise authentically from who they are as a person and an artist. Something put on just to try to be entertaining usually isn't as effective as someone who has enough practice that they can show their personality and style on the stage in a big way.   Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
