beau_30 943 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Fitness Correspondent" 09-17-09, 12:04 PM (EST) "America Got Talent should be Americas Got Singers. I'M DONE" Again this season proves that america doesn't know talent. I think the judges need to eliminate how many singers they put through. 4 out 5 were singers in the FINAL FIVE. Again this is the 4th year they've done that. I'm done. I quit watching American Idol because it got stupid. Now this show has gotten stupid. I wonder how much the produce put in on this show. ITS ALWAYS SINGERS. I WANT TALENT!!!! Magic Acts, Dancers, something besides a singer winning. The only true winner is Terry Fater thats it, because he can make puppets sing. I'M DONE" I've said it before and I'll say it again, in the end this show isn't really about talent, it is about performance. Who connects best with the audience. And in some respect who has the best schmaltzy backstory and really needs the win to change his or her life around. At that point the win is more important than the talent, Americans are suckers for the best sob story. Still, as summer filler, this show is better than most. I'M DONE" Yep, you let America vote and they will vote for whatever reason they want to. Sure some people vote purely on some standard of talent, or game play or whatever (and even those standards are subjective) but a lot of people will vote for who is the cutest or who needs the money or all the other things that makes them like one contestant over another. That likeability factor thing. I'M DONE" Here, Here!!! I agree wholeheartdly!!!! That is why they have American Idol - so they can find singers... America's Got Talent should be based on something different than just singers! They had some real talent this time and I would not go to vegas and watch this guy perform... I want something fun and unique not a country singer.... those percussion guys were cool... I agree that Terry Fater has been the smartest choice because he has a different kind of act and I THOUGHT that was what the show was about... not just plain singers. I'M DONE" This is true; the winner has always been an individual who sang. Terry Fator was the most unique, but he sang and was an individual, assuming puppets don't count. Bianca Ryan, Neal E. Boyd, and Kevin Skinner? All singers, and probably all of whom will never be heard from again. Notice how only Fator was brought back to perform this season, whereas Idol brought back all seven winners to perform in season 8. And even some who didn't win. There's also little use for going far in the competition; who's heard anything from Eli Mattson, Cas Haley, Queen Emily, or The Millers? It's just a showcase for freaks and uniquely talented people who will never go far. In this sense, Recycled Percussion is no better than the toe dancer, except the show got to milk Recycled Percussion a lot longer. Neither had a chance to win, and no winning means no spotlight. And half the time, winning doesn't help, either. Bianca who? Who E. Boyd? In a year, will we be saying Kevin Who? Oh yeah, that guy who did that one thing.
