I've had pretty bad vertigo from ear infection type of things and I didn't know you could be fine so quickly with a hospital visit (but mine was never bad enough to get medication for, either). Having a father that is/was a heavy drinker/alcoholic, I've seen some of the signs firsthand, and I have the feeling that his daughter's going through the same carp, and it might take something severe for the proper action to be done..........(was because he hasn't taken a drink in about 4+ years..... but that's because he's been in assisted living for that amount of time and told that the next drink would kill him.......)   Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Hard to know, I've known alcholics that will over do other medications if you do something to curtail the alcohol (too much cough medicine or cold remedies, etc). It wouldn't surprise me that it was alcohol, but it also wouldn't surprise me if it were something else but not done sanely. I do think if they are out of it better to send them to the hospital and let them sort it out than just assume they are drunk again. Now those two meds don't have any drug interactions.
