"Solution to the final cryptex"
Does anyone have an idea of what the 5 letter word might be that opens the final cryptex? I think it may be the word Brave. The main theme in the last episode was the star-spangled banner. The last word in the song is brave, kinda like how this is the last puzzle. That makes sense of the clue "the key is free", because free is the last word in the line before (land of the free). It also might be the word Three. There are three teams left and each team has three people. Weren't there three tiles in the center of the floor in the vault that the Geniuses were in? Our government has three branches, but I doubt that has anything to do with it. Does anyone else have any ideas?

I was thinking it was "scott", as in "Francis Scott is the Key". It would help if we knew what they had already tried. You know they've been trying random words since they got them.

Hmmmmmm. Brave is possible. They said the key if free, something about locked down. I can't come up with any other 5-letter words. Oh! Proud. Stars. Brave. Constitution--nope. I'll be thinking about this -- gotta be something patriotic -- freedom, liberty, flag, stars & stripes, etc.

As I said in the other thread, my choice is Glory.

My second choice would probably be stars, although Brave sounds like a viable choice, too.

--gotta love Tribe and his awesome siggies!

I think Scott is the most likely option.

Otherwise crypt or stars.

As soon as the cryptex came up, I turned to the people I was with and told them that I would guarantee that it was "stars." Cardboard-Host's comment was that "It's been in front of you all along" -- as in, they have always dealt with stars in the vast majority of their clues. They had also just put a token with a star into the door to open it up. You could say that they had to put it in front of them in order to get into the room.

Yeah, that makes sense. That would explain the pointless star counting on the canoe ride. Did anyone see stars in the crypt? If not, it could be a looong wait for all 3 teams as they try to find the answer at random.

Thats a great idea. That sounds better than my idea or anyone elses. I wouldn't be surprised if stars was right. For once I wish I lived on the east coast, cause I still have 3 1/2 hours to go. The suspense is killing me. Go Air Force!

I'm thinking the word is Mason, there appears to be the Free Mason symbol on the end of the cryptex. Many of the founding fathers were Free Masons.

How about "FSKEY" or "Truce" since the truce ship is in front of them. Stars is good too but wouldn't they have tried it first?
