Agent Bauer begins to feel the pressure of his job?

If he's only now starting to feel pressure, I blame that on not emptying his bladder for too long.

Guess the stuff he's been put through so far this season - and the seasons prior - were just to prepare him for the "real" stress he now faces.

Well, beebs, there may be nothing to empty. Have ya ever seen the poor slob get a drink of water or a bite to eat?

Let's just hope his deodorant works double time. No wonder he has a hard time keeping women with him for long periods of time.

Oh, I wanted to strangle Edgar! Almost as much as I wanted to strangle the Secretary of State and President Dumbass for not learning from very recent mistakes and yet again interfering.

Hello? There's a terrorist with access to nuclear weapons - that strikes me as high priority. Let the folks find the baddie, then sit them down for a meeting. I was half-expecting Dilbert and the pointy-headed boss to show up.

Part of the hidden text below elaborates a bit on someone's demise - go there only with trepidation:

Hidden Text:
Episode 23 - May 23rd - Buchanan asks Michelle to leave CTU after she breaks down after hearing the news about Tony. Jack analyzes a audio conversation between Mandy and a main character at CTU.

Episode 4.24
Airdate - May 23rd

One of Logan’s advisors makes a startling suggestion that would make a steadily growing situation disappear. The Chinese deliver undeniable evidence of CTU’s involvement in the attack on the Chinese Consulate and they demand that Jack Bauer be immediately handed over.

On the Marwan front - I shared how someone by the name of Marwan who resides in Cairo, Egypt contacted me yesterday about a position at work (over on OT). I e-mailed him back but he hasn't contacted me back. Not surprising with the Marwan capture last night.

16. "2-Hr Season Finale"
From TVGuide
Two gripping hours bring the fourth season to a stunning finale, in which executive producer Robert Cochran carefully teases, 'Jack's unorthodox methods give rise to consequences he cannot escape.' With the nuclear missile targeted to hit an unknown U.S. city at any moment, an already stressed Michelle is further tested by an ironic offer from a suspect close to the ever-slippery Marwan, who knows CTU needs him alive---and uses that to his advantage. Meanwhile, the Chinese step up their investigation of the consulate raid and come up with a big surprise for the White House.

From Fox
Super-agent Bauer, along with CTU operatives, exhaust all options in an attempt to prevent an imminent terrorist strike that could change the world forever in the explosive, special two-hour season finale. (Monday, May 23, 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT)

From 24 Insider (don't go if you don't wanna know)

hidden text Part 1:
Mandy calls Michelle at CTU and tells her to back off the agents or she will kill Tony. Michelle agrees to her demands but then breaks down. Buchanan asks her to leave. Meanwhile Mandy calls Marwan...

I had to miss this week's episode, but have read the Episode Guide on the 24 site.

Question: How long will that stealth missile take to reach Wash., DC from the west coast? It's already been at least an hour since Marwan launched it.

Did the characters talk about that at all?

OMH! Very satisfying season! Too bad we have to wait all the way until January 2006 for more 24!

Last night- Tony stripped down to his undies- woo and hoo!

So, we've got Jack Bauer- who is no longer Jack Bauer. Somehow when Palmer told him they would probably never talk to each other again, it made me think they would. Tony and Michelle are leaving CTU to start a new life. (or are they?) Wimpy President Logan is taking all the credit for saving the day- how long before he gets into more trouble? And are the Chinese really going to buy the switch for Jack Bauer's dead body? I assuming the plan was to switch Paul Raines body- or how many dead bodies do they have lying around CTU?

According to 24 Insider, Keifer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe), and Roger Cross (Curtis) are signed to return next season. There are also new writers for the show- Manny Coto and David Fury. 24 Insider says there will be a new female main character but the actress hasn't been revealed yet.

Good re-cap at TVGuide Watercooler http://www.tvguide.com/tv/watercooler/

Let’s see- the promo for next season went something like this- “In season 1 he saved the President, in season 2 he saved a city, in season 3 he saved the country, in season 4 he saved the world- what’s next for Jack Bauer”- or something like that. So, what’s the next big disaster waiting to happen for the 5th worst day of Jack’s life?

Thanks for keeping the thresd going this season Bawdy! I've gotten to the point now I need to read spoilers because I can't take the tension of seeing it "live". Even with them I still get on edge from time to time AND it's nice to be able to see some things ahead so you can watch for little cues that show it's coming (which a lot of people can probably do in real time anyway - me not so much).

Well, where do we go from here? Think I'll go listen to Dina Araz and her take on her part and the show.

I'm with you- I can hardly stand the suspense!

Mr. Bawdy does not read any of the spoilers but he had it figured out right away. As soon as the guy on the phone gave the order to kill Jack- Mr. Bawdy said- "oh, they're going to fake his death."

I especially liked the last line. Something like
if you think it's over, you don't know Jack
what a great double meaning!

another syren masterpiece

34. "RE: Day 5"
From TV Guide The Biz regarding next season

TVG: Will there be a connection to the last minutes of the finale?
Cochran: Certainly. We'll pick Jack up in a very different place, roughly a year later. Of course, the show is the show, so it won't be long before he's back in the saddle. But we'll explore a little bit of what he's been doing with his life and the situation he's gotten himself into. That will certainly have an impact on his behavior when he gets involved in the streets.

I couldn't believe they managed to tie everything up in the last 15 minutes.
At one point, I thought the China story line would be carried over for next season (and it still could resurface, I guess) but Jack managed to "thread the needle" and sew it all up.

I agree that the ending of the day was done very well. The "Hm, what happens now" questions were flying.
But did anyone else get a bit of "Incredible Hulk" deja vu as Jack walked into the sunset, canvas bag on his shoulder, Army surplus jacket on his back, a man on the run from his past...?

I just hope he doesn't start calling himself "Bruce" and wearing a green powdered wig.

But I can SO picture him saying, "Don't make me angry...you wouldn't like me when I'm angry."

"If there was ever a time you wanted permission to run over a clown. . ."

39. "Ask Ausiello"
A couple of loose ends tied up from TV Guide Ask Ausiello
http://www.tvguide.com/news/askausiello/

Question: Where is Behrooz!?!? I'm organizing a search party. Care to join? — Eric

Ausiello: I found him! Keep reading!

Question: What happened to Behrooz on 24? They never told us! — Tom

Ausiello: He's alive, sweet Jesus, he's alive! Turns out a scene where Jack learns what happened to the little teen terrorist who couldn't got cut from the finale. For the scoop on that MIA sequence — and other burning cliff-hanger mysteries — be sure to pick up the June 12 issue of TV Guide magazine (on sale June 9).

Question: Will Tony and Michelle be back on 24 next year? They are one of the best reasons to watch the show! — Amy

Ausiello: Let's just say there was a reason the producers decided not to have Michelle commit suicide in the season finale.
