"Michael's Recycled Outfit"
LAST EDITED ON 08-17-06 AT 02:43 AM (EST)

LOVE Michael and I actually hope he wins...

but did anyone notice that brooch pin on the "muslin" wrap? did he find that at the recycle center? What's it made of - does anyone know?

His outfit and interpretation was GENIUS!

The designers are allowed to utilize the "Macy's Wall of Accessories"...he probably got it from there.

I love Michael too, but no way should he have won last night. Much as I dislike Jeffery, he should have won and they ripped him off.

Jeffreys outfit was to off beat for those judges. They only like what can be mass produced and sold at thousands of retailers. I think he should have won .

4. "RE: Michael's Recycled Outfit"
I agree, Tahj. I thought Jeffrey deserved the win too, since his outfit looked the least like garbage. I liked what he did with the materials, painting them, but the dress style itself was just a shade on the ordinary side. Just a shade, though - his concept and use of the materials was brilliant.

I actually thought Jeffrey's dress looked like a lamp post in Times Square, with layers and ages of playbills plastered to it. I mean that in a good way - in a 'layers of time' kind of way. Michael Kors was on to something when he said that it was "ugly beautiful."

I can see why they gave it to Michael, though. His was quite pretty and looked fancy for being made of trash, particularly the top. I didn't care for the skirt, personally, but the gold woven bustier was very nice.

Still, if it were me, I'd have given it to Jeffrey.

Jeffery should have won, due to his fashioning of that newspaper into a wearable dress. The judges said his was the only dress that looked like real fabric and moved with the model.

Hated, hated, hated Vincent's cut/tear/paste art camp special.

I don't understand why this guy is even in the competition.

the wall *lightbulb* thanks deweydrop - and i agree with you nosymom, they really do focus on mainstream "marketable" ideas (which probably makes sense, as they're looking for people to ride. It's all about the scratch!)

Jeffrey may not end up being the winner, but - hopefully - he'll get picked up somewhere. That dress WAS pretty awesome - and the fishtail hemline thing?! Fresh breath of air!

As much as I admire Laura's streamlined aesthetic, it IS getting kind of predictable. Her outfits are beautiful, but seem to be blending together. Jeffrey may be a cocky bastard, but he could be onto something here...don't tell him though;)

Have to agree with the theme here-Jeffrey's garment was very unique in a beautiful way!

I do sometimes think that they have a tendency (the judges), without realizing it, to move toward a contestant that has a better attitude, don't you? Just seems that way to me. I could be way off here.

But I also thought Uli did an amazing job and really felt she would be up there in the top 2 somehow, but guess they didn't feel that way. Oh well.

Yep. Her one note designs will eventually get her kicked off the show.

Doesn't she know *anything* else to try?

Oh, and Laura - PLEASE keep your boobs inside your dress. We've seen quite enough, and we're not impressed.

Keeping your mouth shut would be a treat as well.

Did anybody else notice the slightly exasperated look on Jeffrey's face when Michael was declared the winner? I think Jeffrey is getting fed up with not being recognized as winning any challenge thus far. I think he forgets winning challenges really does not predict who will win the show. Jay never won a challenge yet he won for Season One.

Um - TOTALLY! And when they commented on Laura, his eyes went SO far into the back of his head, i thought there was permanent damage.

i never thought about it that way, but you've got a point reealiteefan - guess we'll have to stay tuned for the ultimate fighter!

Jeffrey's was about the same as Michael's, I'd say. However since I like Michael better I say he won the challenge rightfully.

Also - Jeffrey's model's hair was kinda creepy. Ick.

Oy vey.

Michaels outfit reminded me of a windy day. The models hair was swept up by a gust of wind and then a plastic bag taken by this wind wrapped around her shoulders but she looked beautiful anyway because, well, she's beautiful. Jeff should have won. I also loved Ulis.
