Ummm.....wow. I didn't see the first episode last week, but from what I saw of Jim, he is a pr!ck to say the least. I cannot even believe his attitude on the show. I thought that Martha Stewart would see right through him. He acted like the kind of people that I had to be around in high school. If it wasn't his under-the-breath comments every time someone said something, or his loud sighs, or snide remarks to Dawn, he would go so far as to tell the pm what he should or shouldn't say in the conference room. He went so far as to argue that the pm didn't try to quit, something that the entire team witnessed, simply to further his agenda to eliminate Dawn. I only got to see the recap of week one, but even that gave enough of an idea. I hope that he gets fired, and falls flat on his a$$ when he gets out of there. People like him fall in the same category as Maggot on BB6. I still haven't decided who I'd rather be trapped in a room with.

I agree with you that Jim is a piece of horsesh!t like Maggot from BB6. But, there's one huge difference between them. Jim is honest with himself about what he wants to do. He's admitted in his confessionals that he's cutthroat and ruthless and he's using strategy to further himself in the game. Seems to me like Jim is playing "The Apprentice" as if he were playing "Big Brother". And, I'm still unconvinced this is the best strategy to use on "The Apprentice". Not once has Jim said that he's a moral player and that he deserves to win because of his integrity as a player, which was Maggie's modus operandi on BB6. Don't get me wrong, I think Jim should be given a swift kick in the a$$ and thrown mercilessly onto the street, but his similarities with Maggot are few, rather than many.

Thanks for your comparison. Offhand, I couldn't really think of a comparison, but just threw out the nastiest, most well known reality show contestant I could think of at the time. I was really just looking to vent after I watched the show. What I hated most was that he would just keep dumping cliche after cliche, such as "she is a cancer, that is killing our team", or "ladies and gentlemen, there is a charlatan among us". I really don't usually get this fired up, but wow, I really think I hate this guy.

I think I'm the odd man/woman out on the subject of Jim,but I kid of like him. He's honest & creative & smart & funny. If you notice, eventhough he's been sent to the BR 2x, all the participants agreed that whatever job Jim did, he did flawlessly. On the book project, it was agreed that the best part of that horror was Jim's job, which was the illustrations & designs. On this job, no one faulted Jim with whatever he was given to do. Okay, so he's loud & obnoxious at times....okay, all the time. And yes, he is only out for himself. But this isn't a popularity contest or a beauty contest. This is a job interview & Jim is up for the same job as 15 other people. Remember what Martha said: She said that she's looking for someone who can handle an executive position with creativity. Jim actually has the creativity. He won't win Mr. Congeniality or Mr. Popularity, but those aren't in the job descriptions.

The man is repulsive, his actions are childish and he will never win this competition. I am not worried about him winning, but I sure hope I don't have to tolerate him more than one more week. One thing that could be interesting is putting him on a team with Omarosa and watching them destroy each other. That showed could be called "Battle of the network Idiots" Can you tell I don't care for him?

In the world of work outside a reality show, you have to be a motivator of people and have the ability to bring out the best in them. No matter what Jim's abilities are as a businessman, he has to connect positively with people whether his employees or clients. Martha is seen as ruthless in her dealings with people, but I'll bet she isn't that way with everyone, and I imagine people are well paid who work for her. Even Martha doesn't like Jim. He does provide that LOVE TO HATE element to the show.

My husband thinks & I agree that Jim is being kept on simply for ratings. the man is a complete lunatic, but the rest of the cast is pretty boring, so the show needs him. He DOES make you want to choke him, though. I couldn't even feel happy for him when he announced the birth of his new child... All I could think was "Poor kid! What a lousy father to be born to".

The reality in "reality" TV is that Jim is the hook that entices us to come back week after week. He is obnoxious but makes good TV. The producers probably saw this and when we see Martha carefully skirt around Jim it's so he can remain long enough so that we have our villain to watch. That is if Martha's daughter can hold in her what appears her loathing of him long enough that it remains believable. I am a diehard Martha fan, and realize that unless you have the colorful characters no one is going to watch. But come on, you can't be emphasizing quality in products and uniqueness and continue to think that people will believe Jim isn't being kept for the ratings while someone that may have potential gets the axe for his sake.

Have been thinking of starting a Jim bashing thread for days. This man feels used car sales man slimy. His controlling comments actually made me feel a little nervous but as a PM I would never allow him to yell at Dawn the way he was doing when she went back into the shop. I longed for Donald in the board room so that he would cut him off and berate him Martha seems a little to nice in their... I don't even believe they're calling it a board room now :S But anyway Jim in relationship...now that would be completely terrifying. And that's the way the cookie crumbles

Well Jim has achieved one thing. He is the only one whose name everyone seems to know. So he is getting noticed. But for the wrong reasons.

Jim is seriously manic and is there for "entertainment" value only. He is the personification of evil, in the way he attacks and demeans people. I marvel that the entire team doesn't just tell Martha . . .get rid of him! He needs to be hospitalized.

The guy who went through the melt-down and practically begged to get off the show was by far one of the weirdest and more immature contestants I've ever seen on a reality show! How in the world was he ever chosen? The stupidity regarding the team's flower choices, business savvy was SO BAD! And he was the leader. Go figure.

I agree with you. Even though Jim is a jerk, Martha let the right person go last week. He (can't remember his name) said he wasn't a leader. What the he!! are you doing there?
