That could be the worst team selection/post-selection process of all time.OK, Virginia's first pick was fine in K-Grease. I may have gone for Rachel to screw over Virginia, as the Top 3 in the group seem not to like her that much. But Keith is the best line cook in the pool. Likewise, Heather made a fine first pick with Rachel, as a friendly connection will help a lot. Then everything went haywire. With Sara and Garrett remaining, she takes TOM? The mysoginistic (sp?) stock broker? Seriously? He sucked in the kitchen, he sucked out of the kitchen. He sucked. Heather made a logical pick in Sara, I may have gone Garrett but both work. Then the kicker
##### GIACOMO!??!?!?! She took GIACOMO? OVER GARRETT? ARE YOU KIDDING? Man, that second pick was a blessing, as she got the cooks I rate 2-4 in that kitchen (maybe #1, #3, and #4 for Heather if you move Rachel up). Oh, and telling your team that they are weak? Hah. And I guess first round draft picks want something now, eh Keith? I'd pay him off, or say he'd get an interview as a high level cook in the restaurant. Heh. That was horrible people management. Voldy-Kwame anyone?

Talk about a cliff hanger!Heather is humble - not sure. Virginia is, "I know I've won." Heather has grown in maturity. Virginia has a gifted palate. Will the difference lie in the restaurant design itself? If so, Virginia will win.

The right person (Heather) won, and while Virginia had the best stylized restaurant, and for their clientelle, the best menu, Heather's kitchen had the best performance. And in the end, that's what should matter. Good for Heather...now, if I could get a simulation of Heather v. Keith...

How well did she manage the window then when Ramsay wasn't around? She was quiet, she was far too meticulous with regards to time and taste, she only let people help her up there and got involved with the group when Chef Ramsay told her to.And who knows, maybe Virginia would have been on Heather's side instead of, say, Garrett (who, with Keith, were the best cooks of the night). Plus, whose fault was it that her line chefs sucked? Virginia could have had Keith, Sara/Garrett, and Tom/Giacomo: assume Heather took one of Sara or Garrett when she had the chance. That would have been a far superior line. But she dug her own grave in that case. She won the challenge and failed to take advantage of it. I still think H would have beaten K, but I think it would have been more interesting to say the least. I'm not convinced one bit that Keith couldn't have run the line at least as well as Virginia did tonight. Now, in terms of restaurant design? I loved Virginia's. But Virginia's performance tonight simply maintained what I thought of her last week.

I think I knew from the first episode that Heather would win, but still did not think there was a single person in the pool good enough to win the prize. If I had to choose between them to pick a friend I would choose Virginia over Heather in a flash. Could not stand Heather, I am pleased this is over. I wonder how awful the people will be next year? I hope they choose some truly talented people to offer this opportunity to, instead of the wanna be's they had this year.....it would make the show so much more fun to watch. Talented flawed people are much more interesting than just flawed people.

Well, being on the West coast I didn't get to participate in the play-by-play. So here I am now...I thought they both did fairly well. Virginia didn't do a whole lot to encourage her team to do their best (except bribe them, even though she said she didn't want to do that. And she lost so they get nothing.). I thought Heather's menu choices were good, keeping things simple to make it easier on her staff. I had to laugh at Virginia up at the hot plate being so meticulous with everything and not sending things out. And what was up with Chef being in her kitchen? Maybe he was in Heather's just as much but we didn't get to see it. Heather's design for her restaurant was odd. The videos of herself on the wall? When I go out to eat I really don't think much about WHO is making the food but more about how the food tastes. Kind of odd to project yourself into so much of the decor. (literally!) All that aside, I'm very glad Heather won. She seemed to do better overall throughout the whole competition despite Virginia winning so many challenges. (would love to be inside her hubby's head when he watches how she acted with Chef throughout the whole thing)
