LAST EDITED ON 08-13-07 AT 09:57 PM (EST) A BRAND NEW season of The Contender is on its way starting September 4th! Follow the link below and read it for yourself: http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-thecontenderreturnstoespn,0,3341761.story?coll=zap-news-headlines Super middleweights this year instead of welterweights, which is good because they need a fresh start. The ONLY drawback I can see is that there is no mention of Sylvester Stallone coming back and co-hosting with Sugar Ray Leonard, which the show desperately needs. Sugar Ray hosting by himself in Season 2 was a DISASTER. LAST EDITED ON 09-05-07 AT 01:30 PM (EST) This makes me very angry. What is with ESPN and promotion? I found out about this today Sept 5th. The day after the premeire, now if I want to watch I missed the first show! URGH! If I had heard anything at all about a new season I would've watch out for the premeire but This was the first I heard of it. And the first episode this year was a 'selection show' where we saw the initial 16 candidates cut to just 10 who will fight, so you didn't miss too much.
