Because very few men in sports history have had the entire universe conspire to tell them just how much of a total unrelenting jerkass they truly are. He should consider it to be an honor. Nick Saban bashing aside, that was the most amazing finish to a game I have ever seen. Has to go up there with "the band is on the field". Consider: - all that was at stake - Bama's regular kicker missing 3 FGs during the game - Bama fighting to get 1 second added to the clock - Bama tries a 55+yd FG with a rookie kicker instead of a Hail Mary from their QB who is up there with all-time successful college QBs - Auburn coming off a miracle win the previous game with what was then called the play of the year I felt lucky to have seen the end of that one, especially since I was cheering against Bama!   Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

It's fitting that last year's highlight was of a play that caused Alabama to lose, and this year an even more exciting highlight was also of a play that caused Alabama to lose. And I was cheering against Alabama too, probably a bit more than I was cheering against Auburn. It was the Nick Sabin factor that tipped the scale there. I was hoping that they would both lose, but I will take what I can get. That would be shocking. While I may think that the SEC is the toughest conference, I hope that having a non-SEC champion will be good for the other conferences in the future.
