1. "RE: NFL Week #4 Complaining Thread."
Just a comparison From the Sagarin Stats/Ranking page, Sagarin Rank averages a couple of different measure2 of how well a team is doing this season.

Sagarin Rank---Team Name---Win/Loss---(ave rank of teams played)

1 New England 3-0 (32)
2 Denver 3-0 (23)
3 Seattle 3-0 (30)
4 New Orleans 3-0 (27)
11 Chicago 3-0 (24)
13 Miami 3-0 (12)
14 New York 0-3 (1)
19 Pittsburgh 0-3 (19)
20 Tampa Bay 0-3 (2)
21 Minnesota 0-3 (11)
25 Washington 0-3 (21)
27 Kansas City 3-0 (28)
32 Jacksonville 0-3 (20)

At least one 0-3 team is doing worse than the KC-Squaws.

2. "Off-NFL-topic stuff."
Two things. First, Lane Kiffin has been fired. Again. I didn't want to start a new thread for it, but the event is definitely worth noting, no matter how many times it's happened before. Perhaps especially because of the number of times it's happened before.

Second: today marks the final Mets game to be radio broadcast over WFAN. The best-known sports talk host has been spending the whole approach time saying it doesn't matter at all which teams are on the station and he could not care any less. Why? Because he's an open Yankee homer and guess who's replacing the Queens Kids?

So John Sterling is coming to town.

To me, that matters. Mostly because my station presets need a new place to hide.

And they're playing highlights from the team's WFAN history.

Bob Murphy is calling the games.

3. "RE: NFL Week #4 Complaining Thread."
So no Panthers to jinx this week and I can only watch the early game.

So Steelers 0-3 vs Vikings 0-3 or
Seahawks 3-0 vs Houston 2-1

The at least one team this week who is 0-3 has to win a game sounds more amusing at the moment. Which one should I watch?

4. "RE: NFL Week #4 Complaining Thread."
I would go with the London game. Not only do you have the fun of seeing the NFL's continuing attempt to break ground for a franchise and destroy the sleep hopes of all involved, but it'll be interesting to see if you can force a tie.

(The permanent UK team also brings up the fun question of double-country taxes. Anyone ready to play for negative salary?)

OT, huh, does it count if I jinx a tie in the one of the two games I didn't watch?

8. "RE: The New York 0-4 Giants"
Is it normal to have this many 0-4 teams?

But then in a season where the KC Chiefs are 4-0 I doubt normal is anywhere near the standings.

What? Eli's only been sacked 10 times this season? Them other teams are falling down on the job.

16. "RE: Snidget will get it."
Close: number of turnovers Geno Smith had at that point in the season. By comparison, Eli was up to -- nine. So it's a race, really. Who will win? How many local fans will bet on the results? It's the last thing they can still have fun with this season! Don't ask about the value of 'fun'. Luna would have trouble with this degree of 'fun'. Although turning the football into a giant spider might do something for the game's entertainment value, along with upping the turnover count a little bit more...

Geno almost got bonus points for getting safetied, but he started to go down a foot outside the end zone and so it ultimately didn't count.

My question was just how much under .500 is the "winning" team from the NFC that makes the playoffs going to be?

19. "Patriots QBs"
Current and former Patriots QBs are undefeated this season as starters:

Tom Brady (Patriots): 4-0
Brian Hoyer (Browns ): 2-0
Matt Cassel (Vikings): 1-0

Current Patriots backup Ryan Mallett is a free agent at the end of this season, in case the Jets are paying attention. (Of course, we should note that Jets' backup Mark Sanchez is making more money this year than Tom Brady. Just sayin'.)

20. "Unbeaten and winless"
We're down to four winless:

New York (Gnats)
Tampa Bay
Pittsburgh
Jacksonville

But we still have five unbeaten:

Seattle
New England
Denver
Kansas City
EITHER New Orleans or Miami

Fortunately for the Gnats, they get to play Michael Vick's Beagles in a battle for the bottom.

In other news today, the Vatican decided to sanctify the Miami Dolphins. This move is no surprise after the Saints beat the hell out of them.

Signing Freeman is the only way that I see Jax getting better this year.
