Because there's a good chance that if this expulsion vote is private, he's one of the Retain Sterling ballots, mostly due to fear that he'll be next. (I think the best bet for getting Sterling out is Silver announcing every last vote will be connected to the owner who cast it. Goodbye, Still More Sponsors... but no guarantees of that much transparency.) And there are other NBA team owners with, shall we say, small problems. This is not a particularly clean league, especially morally. It's hard to become that rich without hurting someone along the way, and then we get into personal codes... But if he stays... did you notice the Commissioner basically said he's entertaining the idea of letting any Clippers player freely leave at the end of the season? Those desperate for professional paychecks may head there -- but who else will? Supposedly the ex-mistress has hours more of these recordings ready to go. The world may not be prepared. My anti-nausea medication certainly isn't.
