Graze the wall a bit too long and hit the pits, you've already lost the time and the race. Being on the pole doesn't count too much tactically since most cars early on are running in the same pack. The first few races had multi-car stacks due to someone just missing the slip. There are a few articles already out on this, but the drivers like the wheels, decals and all. "Finishes 8th" Danica kept with the lead pack most of the race, and she led one lap to be the first lady in Cup history to lead a green-flag lap. She was running 3rd going into the last lap, but she got outmaneuvered and boxed in as cars broke out of the line on either side of her. "RE: Finishes 8th" LAST EDITED ON 02-26-13 AT 05:14 PM (EST) Even given that she was in the top 3 until the final lap when she found herself going backwards, finishing the Daytona in the Top 10 is indeed a "not bad" day, and stamps her as a worthy Cup Adversary. Let's see how she does on the shorter tracks, this could be a real good year for her. Stewart gave her the fastest car at the track and probably some pretty good advice. The only thing I see about her now is a lack of decisiveness. She is still Stewart's little sister figure (in her mind), and she needs to become his (and the other driver's) dominatrix. She needs to start making decisions on her own and taking chances. She will wreck some, but that's how winners win. Stenhouse's 11th place finish is also worth a shout out.
