"Annual OT March MADNESS Pool 2012 - The Brackets!"
LAST EDITED ON 03-15-12 AT 11:10 AM (EST) Madness is the word! In case you missed "The Math" post in the sign-up thread, here is the deal: We had 19 sign up. Too crazy to divide. So, I added Estee since she appeared in that thread. That gave us 20, which divided up nicely, leaving 4 teams. Because Nutzy may or may not have been the brainchild for this, I gave her the final four spots. (Wouldn't that be something if they ended up being the final four.) You each should have 2 teams outright and 2 shared teams, which gives you really a total of four teams. This also should give you one team (either outright or shared) in each region. Unless I totally messed up, and it's too late to fix that now. In case it's not stated elsewhere, we work on the point spread system. The spreads are from Yahoo and are noted in parentheses. Example: 1 Kentucky (25): Snidget/Bond 16 West. Kentucky: Cahaya/Keith If Kentucky wins by more than 25, Snidget & Bond move on. If they win by less than 25, Cahaya & Keith take them from Snidget & Bond and they move on. If it's a tie, I believe they both move on. (If I'm incorrect, I will edit.) BRACKETS South 1. Thanks Ayak I was actually at the snoozefest that was WVU v. Gonzaga....we got to our seats it was 2-2 then the Bulldogs hit 3 3s and never looked back
The Greyhounds made it a game for about 10 minutes then Ohio State took over.

Conga-rats, Cahaya. A fun pool, but not easy to win. Your path to the win was interesting.
So how did Cahaya win? Let's recap:
Game 1: Louisville (Cahaya) wins by 7, covering the spread by only 0.5 points. Cahaya advances bumping Emydi/Samboohoo who were >< this close to taking over this slot.
Game 2: Louisville (Cahaya) barely beat New Mexico (MRC/Newsome). The spread was 1.5, and they won by 3. Cahaya survives another very close one.
Game 3: #4 Louisville smokes #1 Michigan St, and Cahaha smokes Snidget.
Game 4: Favourite Florida loses late to Louisville. Cahaya and his Louisville move on ousting Scuba Steve
Game 5: Kentucky beats Louisville, but just misses covering the spread. Cahaya steals Kentucky from cahaya/KeithFan
Game 6: Cahaya (Kentucky) covers the spread (-6 1/2) to beat newsomewayne (Kansas)
So in summary, he barley covered the spread with Louisville in the first 2 games, survived when his team (still Louisville) provided upsets in games 3 and 4, stole Kentucky when they just missed covering the spread in game 5, and won the championship when Kentucky made a couple of late free throws to cover the spread.
Talk about walking a tightrope to the win!!

Yeah, it's both luck of the draw and the outcomes, as the spreads are supposed to be a 50/50 proposition.
Louisville looked like a good draw from the start, though, and I mentioned that a couple of times even as the games were being played. The coup de grace was stealing Kentucky through Louisville to wrap it up.
