"Massa tries to catch car spring with head!"
Not a good thing to do. He's in an induced (I think) coma.

Even as safe as top tier racing has become, driving in a series that features open cockpits has one inherent danger, that of flying debris (usually pieces of other cars, most notable wheels) hitting the driver's head.

They say Massa should recover, but this is the kind of injury that could very spell the end of his career if he can't get over the mental side of it.

I agree that if he can't get over the mental injury of this accident, his career is pretty much over. Why take such chances in the first place?

I don't follow F1 at all (*yawn*) but the sudden appearance of this thread made me dig. The accident (and first post in this thread) was in 2009.

Why would someone respond to such an old thread? Is that a spam-bump??

I don't know the reason but I have seen this with spammers before. I don't know the reason, but they seem to feel the older the thresd the better for spamming.
