"A Question About the Weight Bonus"
Every season, there are challenges where contestants can gain a 1 pound or 2 pound advantage in the weigh in.

Does this only affect them at that weigh in, or does it carry over?

For example, you go into the weigh in with a 2 pound advantage. Your weight last week was 320, and your weight this week is 316. With the 2 pound advantage, your weight is 314.

Next week, you weigh in at 310. Do you get credit for the 6 pounds you lost (from the actual weight of 316), or do you get credit for the 4 pounds you lost (from the adjusted 314)?

I`ve wondered about that too. I just think a 1Lb advantage is a poor choice for an award. It`s a pound loss that wasn`t earned in the weight dept.

I don't like a challenge where the end result is "whoever comes in first wins a 1 pound advantage" either. You didn't earn the weight loss, and there's no strategy involved.

I like the one last night, since there's a decision involved, "do I think I did well enough to forgo the pound to get $10k?"

I also like it when they have a 1 pound penalty they can assign to someone...Adds the strategy of trying to handicap someone...and if they don't fall below the yellow line, you wasted it...and it helps point out some of the pecking order if it's not already apparent.

The pound advantages do not carry over. It goes by actual weight lost.
