"Episode 14, April 7, 2009"
Our Tivo didn't record, so I only saw the end of the challenge where Sione lost to Tara.

What happened before that?

Oh, and Tara is becoming "Vicky" to me. Every week I like her less and less. Honestly, STFU.

Much much drama. Show started right after last elimination. Ron became the Godfather and hoped the ones who voted against him would die. Huge temptation where one food tray contained a Golden Ticket being the sole vote for the elimiation and others contained much junk food and a few contained the sponsor gum and a cash prize. Everyone went a little nuts, but Kristin pulled back and stopped eating before the others, realizing if she stayed above the Yellow Line she couldn't be voted off anyway. Tara ate over 4000 calories of cupcakes, donuts, etc., and some of the others weren't too far behind her. Ron won $1500. Laura won both the big $5000 prize and the Golden Ticket, but the sole vote would only be good if she didn't fall below the Yellow Line. The trainers were disappointed in their trainees and worked their butts. They did a joint workout and they showed Jillian working Kristin and Ron.

We also got to see Colleen and Jerry, the Yellow Team from last season. Jillian took her team to the sandwich shop sponsor and they were there. It was great to see that Jerry has taken more weight off and kept it off, especially when there's been so many stories of all the previous winners gaining back most, if not all, of the weight lost.

Tara was one of my favourites early on, but I'm starting to wonder about her. I don't think she's reached Vicky's viciousness yet, though.

Interesting challenge....the golden ticket! Keep eating for calories, cash prizes and/or the Willy Wonka Wannabe. Kudos to Kristin who realized not eating the calories was the best way to be safe and staying above the yellow line. Face it people, if you weren't the bottom two, you didn't face elimination. The prize wasn't that big unless you didn't have confidence in your weight loss ability. Of course, there was cash!!!! But most of them wanted the WWW.

I agree with Tara turning into Vicki, and Helen is turning into Heffa.

Was that the longest "while they were home from the ranch" footage?

I'm sorry, but I just don't understand why people actually eat on those temptations. What the heck are you at the ranch for? I can't believe those people made such pigs of themselves for a small chance at a bit of power. I know I'm not there so the emotions, etc. are different, but they totally got their focus off of why they are there in the first place. These people have lost hundreds of pounds altogether and they're all jazzed about the chance to vote off one person? And it wasn't even a choice of anyone they wanted but only a choice between the two people below the yellow line. I am so glad that Bob and Jillian were ticked and worked their butts off.

And I was thinking, how much weight would everyone have lost if they had NOT eaten anything at the temptation?

Again, the thing I disliked the most was the game play. I had such hopes for this season because they started out so well with concern for each other and a focus on losing weight. Maybe since they've had such success it's allowing their focus to slip, but some of these people still have a lot of weight left to lose in order to be healthy.

With that in mind, is that almost like watering up? Will this bite Kristin in the rear-end next week? Maybe she can get use of "The Save" ticket from American Idol.

Nope. Water has no calories and leaves the body quickly and expediently. Calories do not leave the body unless they are worked off. Just like all the extra calories they ate before they came to the ranch, the only way to get rid of these calories is in the gym, not the bathroom.

LAST EDITED ON 04-08-09 AT 11:16 AM (EST)

Wondering how much of the Ron as Godfather image footage was taken from actual filmed footage and how much was 'faked' for that bit...
Ron is getting on my nerves.
And? why did Sione not remind Ron that he (Ron) had considered voting out Filipe the week before. The cousins were mad at Ron then for that - which is probably what really turned the tables.

I knew Laura was going to regret having to be the one making the decision. Having the ticket would only have been important to her if Tara had fallen below.
I'm a bit surprised that she kept Helen - especially after the bits where she was wondering if Helen could be trusted.
But in the end Sione was the bigger threat - had more to lose than Helen. And was the biggest challenge threat next to Tara.
Kristin was smart. Too bad the others couldn't see it the way she did.

I'm glad Helen made it to the make over. If they don't cut her hair... She really needs a hair cut.

I'm glad Tara won the challenge. Since she actually won the marathon challenge but the prize was taken away from her (Helen - and possibly others - eating the cookie/s).

Again I'm tired of Ron. Even during the challenge he was just watching out for Mike. He doesn't try - course he'll not win one so...
But when he lost more weight than Mike? Mike was right in his comment.

The game play is getting out of hand to the point of ridiculousness. I really liked Tara at the beginning, and I still admire her fierce competitive drive. But it really makes me wonder how she gained so much weight to land her on Biggest Loser in the first place. Where was that drive and determination? She is wearing thin and there's a brittleness to her that's uncomfortable to see.

The producers went a little overboard with the Ron as Godfather theme but it did make me laugh. Those who voted to keep him last week are going to regret their decision -- he lost the 2nd highest percentage of weight this week. Sione and Filipe are still perceived as strong threats, but who is winning the challenges? and who is winning at the weigh ins?

Mike remains my favorite, but I hope he just focuses on being healthy and losing weight, and leaves the "getting even" carp to his dad. I'd hate to see him caught up in game play and holding grudges - there's no point to it.

I was glad to see Kristen step back at the challenge and discreetly stop eating. She was the only smart one and it kept her above the yellow line.

I'm ok with the gameplay at this point. It's interesting to see how they handle that vs the whole getting healty aspect of the show.

I don't see Vicky in Tara at all. Vicky gave just enough to get by while Tara is manic about being the best all the time. And I don't see evilness in Tara. I have to say I was in a competion once where the first few legs I won, it tripped something in me where I thought I had to win it or lose it - there was not an inbetween. I wonder if Tara's mindset is something similar.

Seeing Tara beat Sione at the stadium was amazing. To come as far as she has and beat all the boys is good to watch Yes, I'm still a Tara fan.

Although, Kristin is right up there. At first I didn't care for Kristin - but now I really like her. She's crafty and cunning without being over the top.

Loved seeing Sione at home with his wife and kids. They all looked really happy.

And yes, I too believe that not getting rid of Ron earlier in this game is going to bite every one of them.

I agree - I don't see Vicky in Tara. And she is an amazing competitor - seems like the harder it is, the harder she fights for it. I just want her to calm down and be sure her focus is on permanent life changes.

The Vicky/Tara comparison is just me meaning I don't like her like I didn't like Vicky.

Last year, I was telling Vicky to go away. Now I'm telling Tara.

While I agree that Ron's trying to control the game is annoying, the Godfather montage at the beginning was waaay over the top. And while I understand Blue Team's frustration that Ron was debating sending Felipe home, lying about how they were going to vote was a bad move on thier part. And then practically having a hissy fit because Kristen was thinking about the game and not saying she would definitely send Ron home was childish.

I don't know why they were even debating that Tara would take a fall at the weigh-in. Everyone has had at least one off-week, and it would be way too risky to assume that Laura wouldn't have one, just because she was going to work hard, especially given the extra calories she had consumed.

I agree with others, I'm liking Kristen more and more. She seems genuinely interested in losing weight and not as involved in all of the game play and craziness.

The "grand prize" of this temptation was really useless. You couldn't use it to save yourself! If you fell below the yellow line, and you had the golden ticket, people would vote you off just for having the ticket. And if you didn't fall below the line, they can't vote you off anyway whether you have the ticket or not.

The real way to win this temptation was to just sit back and watch everybody else put on weight while they pig out. It's amazing how the lust for power can turn people into idiots, even when the power is for something useless.

**I have a few TBL's sitting in my DVR, so I have missed some of the season. I did, however, see the show where many piled on the pounds under Tara's and Helen's names and the show focused on Tara's reaction to it. (She later found determination and won the event).

From what I read on the boards, all of you seemed to be behind her. And while I don't like being picked on or seeing someone picked on, I also see the "I won! I won!" side of Tara. She seems to shove it in the guy's faces. So I could understand why they all piled the weight onto her, even if it backfired on them.

I just wonder if Tara's competitive attitude/gotta win demeanor and how she acts after she has won is tied to an underlying insecurity...and that insecurity has to do with her putting on the weight to begin with. It was striking to me that she ate over 4000 calories! That's just crazy after all the work she has done to drop weight, and it might hurt her next week --maybe a little slow to show up? Just thinking out loud here.

**And I agree that any discussion of her throwing the challenge was too risky this week. What if both she and Laura fell below the yellow line?

**There is something kinda draggy about this season. Is it longer than usual?

**Loved seeing Jerry and Colleen together on the show...hope they return in other seasons because Jerry in particular is very motivating to see!

**The new TV Guide had a blurb about TBL makeovers and it had a picture of Helen with Tim Gunn. I saw it before the show--so I knew ahead of time who Laura would send home when it was clear who was below the yellow line. It said that Mike has gone from a 5xl to just an xl in three months (way to go Mike!) and that the hairstylist cut off 26 inches of hair from the contestants--so that's gotta mean that Helen got a haircut!

This cast is way better than the Hefa/Icky debacle. I don't really see the Tara/Icky relation. Sione and Filippe should have made sure they had the votes to get Ron out. If Filippe or the pink lady falls below the yellow line, then one of them is gone.
