All I have to say is that Filipe is a little sniveling b!tch! Oh yeah, and while I like Ron, I have to also say that they were incredibly stupid for sending Dane home instead of Ron. Biggest mistake they've made yet. While I was ok with Mandi going home, I was pleased when they were gonna do the tie. I was even more pleased, and impressed, that Mandi stepped up and did the right thing. Kudos! Black team disgusted me tonight. What a bunch of nitwits. Ok, I guess I had more to say than I thought! Still ticked off at that little b!tch, Filipe.

Re Felipe - I was confused... did Jillian not work out with him one afternoon, or for the entire week? If it's the latter, I can understand why he'd be upset, but mentioning it after a day or two would have been better than throwing a temper tantrum. The black team was really cocky this week, and it drove me nuts. The only one who didn't brag was Mike (he made one comment about how they had won everything, but it sounded more like he was answering a question from the cameraman, and it was the truth). But the rest of them, bragging that they could take an entire day off and it wouldn't matter, and then spending a whole night drinking and eating junk? I've only watched two previous seasons of this show, and even I could see that that was a huge mistake. Mandi and Aubrey looked much less like victims tonight, and I'm actually sorry to see her go. Blue team is going to keep losing weigh-ins if they keep getting rid of the people who can pull big numbers. I know this show is about the contestants and not the trainers, but I would have loved to see what Jillian and Bob said to each other after Bob started training Felipe and Sione. I know on camera Jillian said she didn't mind because she had more time for the others and didn't have to deal with the drama, but I'd be curious if that's what she told Bob.

LAST EDITED ON 03-11-09 AT 00:58 AM (EST)It should be late enough to post info about tonight's episode without getting into trouble I totally agree with Asrai - Filipe is a huge whiney baby! He never gave Jillian a chance, and then when she busts him and the rest of the group for acting like binging dumb arses, he runs back to Bob like a groupie, with faithful Sione following right behind. Jillian's job is to whip them into shape, and in a way, it was very disrespectful of her entire team to a) go hog wild with the food and booze, b) then try to hide the truth from her, and c) not seem to get why she might be furious with them. As to Bob, I think he doesn't quite know what to do with the Tongans either - lol. There were some good results at the weigh in, and some disappointments. I think the Blue Team's earlier decision to send Dane home is biting them big time, week after week. I'm rooting for Mike and Kristen at this point - they remain my favorites. Tara has some issues she needs to sort out, but that girl is such a fierce competitor! I do admire her for that. So to see her lose control at the spa was surprising to me, and I know it freaked her out too. So maybe she needs to change her focus a little bit -- move away from her need to dominate at every challenge and maybe put more energy into thinking about how she's going to incorporate these healthy choices into her everyday lifestyle when this is all over. Ugh. The Black team proved what I've suspected for some time now...These people learn NOTHING about changing their habits! They're put in a gym for hours on end and are put on a restricted calorie diet, but they are taught NOTHING other than to use Ziploc bags, and eat horrible processed box foods and gum. UGH! Luxury does not equal binging. Reward does not equal chicken fingers and fries. Until these people stop associating food with fun, they are doomed to go right back where they started. It's just a matter of time. Filipe's little tantrum was nothing more than trying to turn his guilt around on Jillian try to make his bad choices all her fault. Puhleeze. What a wus. Same for Sione. Geeze, you don't see Mike or Helen crying and carrying on for Bob. I used to like those two, but they need to snap out of it. Tara, Tara, Tara...quit overthinking everything and focus! Helen and Laura are dumber than a box of rocks. Young Mike is the most mature one of the group. Blue team has nobody but themselves to blame for losing every challenge, they keep voting off the people who would help them win. I get the whole loyalty thing, but loyalty to Ron will get you sent to the vote every.time. I guess they're hoping to stay in tact until the teams get disolved, and they may succeed, but QUIT WHINING about losing when you're doing it to yourselves! I hated the editing this week. We were set up to learn a lesson that bad choices will hurt you in the end, only to get smacked with Mandi gaining two pounds after doing everything right. What kind of crappy message is that? UGH. I am really upset that what was once my favorite show has so horribly jumped the shark.

*sigh* Where to even start.I did enjoy TBL more than AI last night. Perhaps I'm just done with AI. When I see Lil Rounds and hate her and the judges think she's great, I have a problem. Anywho - Bob & Jillian: I think I know why we need new trainers for next season. The boiling point has been reached. Bob & Jillian are trainers. I think the mix of trying to help people combined with the game format is finally enough for them. Mikey: Absolutely love him. I want him to win it all. Black Team: They did get away with murder. They were cocky and went hog wild. The only slight defense I will give them is that I think it is somewhat unrealistic to go from their former lifestyle to 10 weeks of a new lifestyle and then expect them not to live it up for a night of luxury. I don't agree with the smoking, but I'm not a smoker, so it's not an addiction I can truly understand. I LMAO when Jillian gave us the surgeon general's warning. That was freaking funny as heck. But I also can see where they might have thought they could get away with one night. Was it stupid? Yes. But it was also realistic. I'm guilty of overdoing it when I think I've worked out. And I completely understand the frustration and the wanting the break. Filipe and Sione: I agree they never gave Jillian a chance. I think it could have been somewhat better for them had Tara and Laura not stayed with Jillian. I was somewhat confused by the timing - did Jillian ignore him for a week or a day? And why would she have just walked out of the gym without talking to him. Obviously something was not shown to us. Blue Team: I like Ron, but I don't like him in this "godfather" type of role. "It's Mandi's time to go." WTF was that?If there was any time for them to beat the black team, it was last night. They had better hope for another complete meltdown next week or a move to singles. I still do not like the team voting format. I think the two lowest percent people should always be up for eviction. I loved the obstacle challenge. Good for Helen and Aubrey. They impressed me the most with those squats. Mandi & Aubrey: I like them much better being with Bob. Side note - I think they are both absolutely beautiful, and I can't wait to see them transformed. Aubrey is slowly growing on me. Tara: I still love her, but she and Aubrey are starting to trade places for me. Filipe and Sione going to Bob: This reminds me so much of Amy leaving Kim for Jillian. *smooches Agman*

The blue team is stupid for keeping Ron because he is such a slow weight loser but he is running them like puppets on a string. Cannot believe Philipe had the nerve to blame Jillian for his poor performance and not his 24 hour binge!

aaaarrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!Ya'll have commented on most everything, but I'll repeat anyway. Fillipe - grow up! When Jillian called them out in the kitchen he used that as his opportunity to get his rant in. He set it up so that if he didn't lose weight, he could blame Jillian - and not accept responsibility for the poor - no stoopid decisions he made at the reward. Jillina - did you just forget Filipe that one day? I could see how that might happen. If it was every day, you have an issue to address. If it was one day and you never even realized it till he blew up, you should have gone to talk to him, explain and apologize. Course maybe you did & we just didn't see it. Bob - get a backbone and tell those guys to get one too. If you hadn't acted so distraught at 'losing' them in the first place, they wouldn't have come running back to you. Have you figured out what went wrong with Mandy? Were you too focused on the bros to even know that one of your own was floundering? Blue team - has your strategy been all along to lose so that you could eliminate the original Jillian team one by one? so when you get to individuals you'll have the numbers to pick off the rest of them? The original Bob team outnumbers the original Jillian now. I hope it backfires and Jillian's originals stay above the line and you have to send your own packing. The luxury challenge - this is never a good thing people! . We (all of us here) knew when it was announced that this was not going to be good, didn't we. Really curious as to how the blue team would have handled it. Kristen - medical exclusion from challenges? So what's up with Kristen that she can't compete but Ron can? The wall sitting could never in any way have been good for his knee. That is something that could have further damaged his knee - so if anyone needed a medical exclusion on a challenge it was him. Glad he got a fair participation in the relay - the pool was the perfect part for him. Isn't it funny how we all started out loving almost every one of these people cause they were so different from the previous season? They were all so supportive of each other? LOL Wishing one of these were posting a blog like what's-her-name from last season. Crusin w/ Tribe I feel like this should be the GUFU thread for TBL Nap time? You don't stay up late enough to safely post details about the show on the night we see it! LOL We have to wait until the west coast has seen it - which is I guess 11:00 pm our time in CST. I understand tho - I was wanting to start a spoiler thread but knew everyone was probably over in AI.

Ok.. I am glad I didn't post last night. Boy did I want to though. But after reading y'alls post this morning, most of you were thinking the same thing I was.I think Ron is setting Mike up to win. He knows he can't compete, but if the blue team keeps losing, Mike is safe. So get rid of the stronger members as long as Kristen and Kathy are in the frame of mind.. "orginal team members". But it really aggrivates me that they complain about losing every challenge when they are doing it to themselves by voting off the stronger team members. I couldn't believe the black team. I was shocked at Tara... I thought she would do better at resisting the temptations. You could tell though at the weigh in that she realized this is just not the game... this is her life. Fellipe needs to get a life. My two year old niece doesn't throw a tantrum like he did. He is a grown man...act like it, use your words and talk it out. I can't believe that Bob didn't tell the two "boys" to go back and work it out. What are they going to do when they get back to the real world and they don't get their way? When he blamed Jillian for his lack of weight loss at the weigh in blew my mind. What about taking responsibility for your own actions?? All that food and drinks didn't have anything to do with it?? Someone else has already mentioned this, but I really think the producers have set some drama up. Everyone was being so supportive of each other and things were going smoothly, so they had to get things stirred up. I am at home today with a sick child and was surfing the cable channels. I found a rerun of an old TBL when it was the two families competing against each other. It was very inspirational... wished they could go back to that instead of all the drama.

15. "Blaming Jillian" |
While I agree with most of what has been said about Filipe, I do think that Jillian shares some of the blame for his blow up. She has seriously mishandled bringing those guys onto her team. It was clear that they were missing Bob and liked his style, but rather than try to ease the transition it seems she made it as hard as possible. And, I'm sorry, but it is inexcusable to completely ignore one of the people on your team during the workouts. There are only six people that you need to take care of during the course of the day. You can't just ignore one, particularly if they are already senstive about their situation. Jillian only knows one speed, straight ahead and in your face, but that doesn't work 100% of the time for 100% of the people. She has to make some adjustments to her style for given people and circumstances. Otherwise she is a poor trainer. Her job is to make a difference and work with her 'clients', not to grandstand and do it her way or the highway. If I treated my customers that way, I would be out of business. Finally, I was really surprised at the black team and how they handled their time off. I understand (I mean REALLY understand) the appeal of good food, relaxation and a couple of drinks. But they are in the middle of a contest and they know that. I can't help but wonder if they had more respect for their trainer, if they had some sense of loyalty to them, that they wouldn't have acted differently. I can't see Sione or Filipe disappointing Bob that way. I expected them to say - let's go to the gym or let's jog the beach but it never happened and I do question if some of that had to do with the simmering animosity that Jillian has to take at least a little responsibility for. One last thing - changing trainers was a crappy thing for the show to do. It is proving out as a bad idea and just created drama - not healthier contestants. Still? This season is better than last by a country mile. A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.

Still? This season is better than last by a country mile. totally agree -- that was a really crappy thing to do to all of the contestants, just to stir up some drama. But the silver lining is that it showed me another dimension to Mikey that hadn't been showcased before -- he expressed disappointment over the switch but said, "I'm gonna do whatever Jillian tells me to do," because his main goal was to lose weight. I gained a new respect for him, especially seeing him match his words to action. And yes, this season is sooooo much better than the last! Designed by Agman, siggy maker to the gemstones

He's lucky he has a trainer at all when there are plenty of people who aren't so fortunate. I also think Jillian owes him an explanation but maybe we didn't see that. A Gift from Agman

I am glad you guys are saying the things I have been thinking.About Filipe, I think Bob did him wrong in the way he dealt with the trainer switch. He pretty much enabled Filipe in his dislike of Jillian and the trainer switch instead of setting him up for sucess. His response hurt rather than helped Filipe. But given that, Filipe is a grown man and I am sure he was aware that there would be some sort of twist during the span of the game, since it is not the first season of the show. So you'd rather be with Bob. I understand that but don't let it undermine your reason for being there. Sheesh. And I just knew he was going to blame his poor numbers on Jillian. Yeah, your day of not working out and eating junk had nothing to do with it. Right. As for the reward, my hubby had an awesome point. You get there. You work out like there's no tomorrow (you know they had a gym there, you just know they did!) and then you go get your massage and enjoy the luxury (bubble bath for Helen!). You order a sensible dinner (you know Bob and Jillian have talked to them about this) and you can go back to the ranch relaxed but knowing you didn't blow it. I was so impressed that Mandy didn't let her sister go home. I was so sure she was going to just cry and let her sister go. Good for her! And she looked great at home. I am proud of her. The black team better stop being cocky or it will come back to bite them. (I really wish they had lost the weigh-in but it looked as though Mike actually behaved himself better at the reward and I think that made a difference) sig courtesy of Cygnus

I'm curious - did they say last night why Black would have voted for Aubrey in the event of a tie? Why not vote for Cathy?

I guess I would look at it that Cathy has more weight to lose, so that would make her a bigger threat in the long run. Also, Cathy was former "Bob" and Aubrey was former "Jillian". While there seems to be less game-play than previous seasons among this group, they have voted that way before.

You know after I posted that, I thought of that too. She might like to talk as much as my fingers do.

One day close to weigh in, and fill that day with alcohol? Yes it can. Alcohol dehydrates the body, so most of the no gain or gain is water retention. The body is trying to rehydrate itself.

I was not a fan of the plan "Let's swing the vote so that the Black Team can decide for us." In what sport would that fly? None. How is that "team building" or "team playing?" it's not. At the end of the night, the ONLY person that I felt was *on* a team, and playing FOR her team? Was Mandi. I can't think of a single time I would allow, ever, another team to choose FOR my team, or me. Can you?! I was really impressed with her vote. She did look GREAT at home, too! We don't know how her attitude will transpire at the finale. Her attitude is a winner in my book. Erm, -- I have a bit o' information about the "trainers" on TBL. Anyone read or have a subscription to Backstage West? The Casting Calls are looking for certified trainers to audition for TBL,like yesterday. in the last issue or two. Am I allowed to mention that? I don't have a link because it was in the paper. If anyone has e-access?...I believe that both trainers are burnt out, too. It's showing. They even look semi-bored at the weigh-ins now.

If you read up through some of our posts, we're talking about how we can see the trainers are burnt out and done this season.

I think that switching trainers is a good thing. Contestants on this show tend to get too complacent with their trainers, to the point where it seems like they'd be lost without them. So what happens when the show is over and you don't have Bob and Jillian anymore? I would like to see the show have a random trainer pick every week. It really seems like the show has turned into being all about winning and not about learning how to eat healthy and how to make choices when it comes to food. It is any wonder that so many past contestants have fallen right back into old habits? Even the black team, fell right back into old habits on their day of luxury. ----------------------------------------- Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

I haven't watched this week's show yet, but a friend told me all about it.Never ever in my wildest dreams would I think that a team that won a reward would go hog wild and do tequila shots with a huge dinner! What were they thinking....that they would just do extra miles or something? And restaurant food is so sodium laden--even with trying to be "good" they were at risk! As for the trainers, I have not noticed burn out so much in Bob but Jillian has been out of sorts the whole season. Like something big is bothering her or she has a huge chip on her shoulder. If Bob is not there next season I will miss him. What if they have a "new trainer vs old trainer" type of season?

I am sorry but I think rules are rules and I dont think the two guys should get to work out with Bob - PERIOD. If they dont want to work out with Jillian then they should have to work out on their own. No one likes the switches but deal with it - part of the "game".
