DonnaLynn 582 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Reality Show Commentator" 09-01-05, 02:59 PM (EST) "Bayou mom" Since the Hurricane hit the Gulf Coast, for some reason I keep thinking about the Bayou mom on Trading Spaces. I wonder if her and her family are ok and if they were able to get out in time. If someone hears anything, please post it. She's such a nice lady. "RE: Bayou mom" I was wondering about them, too; I actually got on this site for the first time because I wondered if it would have kept up with them. They seemed to be just good folks. Boy, those vegans were MEAN!! All of them! I was kind of surprised to see them acting that way, because I know quite a few vegans, and 99% of them would never act that way! They are more the kind, gentle hippie types, though, not very militant. A couple of them run an animal sanctuary, nicest people you could ever hope to meet. I hope people realize that those horrible people aren't representative of the entire vegan community! They TOTALLY give animal rights activists, or any activists a bad name. That lady was just plain..ugh, and a hypocrit since They weren't begging her to try alligator, they weren't pushing it on her, they just didn't want it pushed on them. "RE: Bayou mom" Just dug this up on them from another site, which might help in locating them down the line: "This week, we start out with some zydeco music and shots of a swamp, alerting us to the fact that we’re about to meet the Loupe family of Thibodeaux, Louisiana, who own a picturesque home right on the bayou. Mom Diana (whose last name is actually Tregle) informs us that she and her family are Cajuns. Diana is a boat captain, runs a swamp tour company called Zam’s Swamp Tours, and has been a snake wrangler since she was a child. To wit, we see Diana holding snakes of various sizes, and the preserved head of an alligator. We also meet her husband, Lloyd Loupe, who goes by “Diego” for reasons unknown. He looks a bit like a Viking, I think, with long blond hair and a goatee. Diana says that she has loved him since he was nine years old, and he adds that it’s probably because he does everything she asks as we see a shot of him vacuuming! Diana says that in her village, Diego was one generation younger than she was, but she thanks God because he turned out to be the best man she could ever ask for. Diana prides herself on running the tours, which was her family’s business. “No swimming!” she playfully reminds a boatful of tourists heading out into the gator-filled bayou. Rounding out the family, we have young Zamariah, whom Diana describes with an eyeroll as “a handful.” Zamariah, known as ZZ, is seen handling young alligators, riding a motorbike, and walking around with a machete.
