Enjoy the time that you spend here. I only saw the end, but I'll try to describe what happened to the money as best that I can. Jewish mother opened the letter from Christian mother first. Christian mother decided that the children got $500 (though it wasn't clear if that was $500 each or to split; I would guess each). She thought the family could use a new stove, so gave $2500 for that. She gave the parents $15,000 to spend on themselves any way that they wanted. She wanted $6000 to go toward a family trip to Hawaii or a trip to the West Coast - but I though that there was more money for travel since she suggested that the Jewish family should come visit her family (I got the distinct impression that was NOT going to happen). She also said that $5000 for each child should go into college funds. Jewish mother thought that Christian mother did a good job with the money and said that she thought that she had made careful decisions for the other family as well. I know that I have missed something, but this is the best that I can remember. Then we saw Christian mother open her letter to find out how Jewish mother thought the family should spend the money. The first $30,000 was for a new car since the father had mentioned that he could use one. Then the letter said that the daughters had mentioned that Christian mother always wanted hardwood floors in her house. The daughters and the mother all looked really confused about that, but the situation improved when the letter said that $10,000 was for remodeling- since the exact project was not specified, Christian mother decided that she could make improvements to "my bedroom, I mean, our bedroom." Jewish mother also felt that every family should have a chance to go to Europe, so she said $4000 should be used for a trip. I was confused because this did not add up to $50,000. Christian mother seemed very disappointed that none of the money was set aside for college. It's interesting also that the comment was made about "my bedroom, I mean our bedroom..." Hmmm Thanks again!
