I_AM_HE 6123 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Playboy Centerfold" 03-30-04, 01:13 PM (EST) "Letting Tim Win - Good Strategy?" We've all been mentioning how it was bad for the TOPs to let Tim win The Tower Challenge - and it was obviously bad for Bonnie, and COULD have been bad for almost anyone, given how open the elimination seemed to be. But I think that for those who felt secure (probably the last two in the cage - Noel and Nichole, although i would have included Bonnie in there too) it possibly was a very smart move. Aside from the annoyance of 48 more hours of Tim, if they survived the coming elimination, they also GUARANTEED themselves another 2 days since Tim would surely go the next time he was eligible. If Tim had gone first, the big surprise probably would have been the NEXT elimination ceremnoy, where others you didn't think were as safe as you may have built up some cred with the Alts to pull even. I'm not saying that Noel or Nichole (or anyone else) DID think that way, but if they had, it might not have been bad thinking. And of course, I can't fault Nichole (or anyone else, but especially her since she was alone with Tim) for dropping out whatever the thought process...   Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Some of them may have thought that--but after seeing Bonnie evicted and Nichole and Jamie both getting necklaces they should all be wondering what the heck the Alts think & just how predictable they really are. I am of the belief in life and reality TV that not to win is simply to lose. Letting Tim win, whether or not it was their "plan" was a mistake in my opinion. Who knows how this game will play out. Why not make maximum efforts to defeat Hoggle (thanks I_Am)? Tim was the only person in episode four who was an almost shoe-in elimination. This game is all about understanding the Alts and appeasing them. So if I knew that the Alts wanted to boot someone, then I make sure he/she is defeated in the trial to give them the opportunity. Yes, I would then have to take my chances next elimination round that it wouldn't be me. Who knows, maybe Tim (gawd forbid), will actually prove himself in the next 48 hours and won't be eliminated in episode five. Why take that chance?
