"An alternate ending..."
What if they showed the ending to a screened audience and the screened audience hated Larissa picking Gil over Brian?

Then, they made an alternate ending so we wouldn't all quit watching T.V.

It's possible...

I was thinking the same thing. NBC, one would think, would have at least one brain left in the studio to figure out that having two AJ shows finish the same with most of the viewing audience not happy about the ending might be bad for business. A set up ending after Larissa dumps Brian and looks the villain then gets what she deserves in the end. And Gil, who was of course the expendable guy anyway, splits with a lame excuse 'cause he's not happy about her be used goods with Fabio.

Makes great tv and everyone wins.

But.....I think we still want the good guy to get the girl in the end don't we.

BTW ... if there are not a lot of post-show interviews, the finish to the show that we ended up with may be one reason. I mean, who wants to go on national TV and say that they changed the ending to the show -- even if for a noble reason?
