I think she is an attractive woman, but once again, where is the reality check SO needs to provide these people? Models do not start modeling at that age! She won't even get looked at. She will also - due to the standards of the business - still be classified as a plus sized model, which is hard to find work in comercially. Just doesn't make sense. Rhonda just smiled and nodded her head like that is a possibility....why not encourage her to be a makeup artist or something in that field?

She can't be a "Model" Like Americas Top Model but she can do "print" work.
Their are agency's that use "real people" the everyday people.
If you are ever looking through magazines like "womans world" etc...you will see ads that show everyday looking people advertising products like cleaning supplies, pet food, etc.
The pay is good, but I don't think she can make it a "career".
Mostly the people who do those kind of print jobs are also actors.
This type of work kinda falls into that catagory....because making a living as a model (the very attractive/slim/plus size catagory) she doesn't fall into....along with her age.
She is attractive in a plain kind of way...she's not goergous. Plus one thing she doesn't have which to go out on a "go-see" she has NO PERSONALITY! she is blah....she shows no emotion when she talks. She doesn't smile or lauph....or anything.

There is NO WAY that girl 138 lbs!! And if she wears a size 9 dress than the size chart has been changed cuase she is a 14 at least!! She also says she has a 36 bust, a 26 waist HAHAHAHA, and 36 Hips, heck no. It is impossible for her fat and wide hips to be a 36.

I think it's funny. If you read between the lines of that resume, it can mean just about anything.
I was thinking the same thing about the bud girl stuff. Also, the hair model gig is just letting a stylist do your hair for a hair show. No big.

okay, i have caught my breath and wiped my tears of laughter!
now she's a celebrity? and people are going to pay her to speak? hehehehe!
as far as the model listing, not only are she saying that her hips are 36" but that they are the same size as her bust! so the camera adds 10lbs to her top and 30lbs to her bottom? oh and it takes 10lb AWAY from her waist? that's one crazy camera!
christie may be in her twenties but she looks 47 in those photos. this modeling thing is a really bad idea.

That must be a camera like the mirrors they use in a fun house....I did like her picture though (the wedding one)---can you blame her for only using a head shot, not a body shot---it's like buying a prepackaged container of strawberries, and all the ones on the top are "perfect" until you turn them over--then they are all bruised and moldy on the bottom--heaven help the first person she meets in the callback---i can see it now, look at the pix, look at Christie, look at the pix, look at Christie---I think she is too weepy for that market, if SO made her pissed, can you imagine real world criticism---it's not gonna be all sugar coated and nicey,nice---I wish her well, but I think she is setting herself up for disappointment and more self-conscience about her body image,just my opinion.

I dunno. I was trying to read through several of Christie's blog yesterday on her Myspace page, and I hope she is a better speaker than she is a writer because her blogs are too long and too boring...too much detail, as if anyone cares all that much. Maybe there are people out there hanging on her every word, but it ain't me. They were all snoozers.
Today, I wondered if she sued the doctor who botched her arm surgery. Wonder if she got any money? Hmmmmmmm... ???? Can you sue for something like that?

She might also get print work for hair modelling. But what about the goal of getting unaddicted??? She knows it's part of her addiction problem that she gets validation from relationships and people telling her she's beautiful... yet she still aspires to get modelling work. I don't see why they haven't pointed out that this is a problem.
I remember the day she said she was willing to give up alcohol. She said she wasn't willing to let go of relationships or beauty. Has she said she would, yet?
As many have asked -- why don't they just aspire to get regular jobs!!! She needs to find some unmarinated brain cells and put those to use.

There are so many reasons why modeling isn't a realistic goal for her. She is very old to be starting out, her body is full of scars and one arm looks smaller than the other, she is attractive but not model pretty in my opinion. I am so frustrated that the women on SO are not given realistic guidance for their goals. I am not against having a goal and fulfilling your dreams but they should be realistic. I love also how she had done ads for alcoholic beverages when she is an alcoholic. That was priceless.

Oh, I didn't get the impression that Christie was sharing a goal...I thought it was more like an unrealized dream. Even if she decided to go after a "lifestyle" (normal lady doing normal stuff) modeling career, it's still a long shot. I'm not sure that is the type of modeling she wants to do. I think she's looking for lots of make-up and glamour. The truth is, unless she landed something like a sizeable pharmaceutical campaign, she'd be lucky to break even after putting together a portfolio of useable pics.
I do have a sneaking suspicion that she sent her photos to modeling agencies when she was a teenager. She probably didn't generate much interest beyond, "yeah...pretty girl". Sure, she's attractive, even pretty...so are lots and lots of girls. There really is nothing about her that would differentiate her from 50 other pretty girls.
I saw her page with the modeling info. It's far from anything that would be taken seriously. But that's the internet - anyone can be anything. If she had done legitimate work, her client list would reflect company or publication names so that her claims would be verifiable.
I know that PJ from one of the other houses went on to model for a plus sized store. That didn't surprise me actually. Her face was great and she photographed well. Besides that, she was young. True, she was a big girl, but her proportions were much better than Christie's.
As for Christie, I won't be at all surprised if she ends up in a modeling agency waiting room courtesy of Starting Over. If she was to get signed with them, that would be a first step. If she ever books a job is another question entirely.

This is one thing that always gets me about Christie: although she admits to feeling her body is imperfect, she seems 100% convinced that her face is BEAUTIFUL. Not just okay, not just "attractive enough", but drop-dead, stunningly beautiful, as though her face belongs in the annals of the most beautiful women throughout history.
Am I missing something? Christie's face is not ugly, but I am not in any way "stunned" by her beauty. I am really confused by all her talk of "beauty" and "beauty addictions". Christie has said that when she was extremely overweight people would say "...but she has such a beautiful face". Did she take these comments so to heart that they gave her a distorted, over-exaggerated opinion of her face?
I also caught her comment about the women they had her meet with (the ones who kept having plastic surgery, but still feel they need to be improved)...Christie said something like, "Oh, they look so great, why do they want more surgery? And I realize, that's probably what people think about me when I say I want more surgery." Conceited much, Christie? I can see why Christie would be tempted to have more surgery. Her body parts are not "in sync" with each other, and it's not just a top vs. bottom issue. Her body looks like it was "assembled" from many disparate bodies...breasts too big for her face, breasts implanted too low, neck and collarbone area from a very thin girl, "junk in the trunk" rear end, arms of differing sizes, hanging skin on her legs, etc. (Runway material??) Some of these flaws are a direct result of her plastic surgeries, so I'm not sure more is the answer.
Also, I keep hearing about Christie's "glamour shots" under the "View more pics" link on her myspace page. I guess you have to sign up w/ myspace to view them, and I don't particularly want to do that, but if anyone has already done so, would you be willing to post the pics?

Chrisie can't be a model because: her attitude sucks and she can't be around people who like to have a good time while consuming liquor. Therefore if she can't go to important functions (i.e. to meet clients and network for jobs) that will have liquor there she is not going to enjoy herself).

sharnina, thank you for posting those! It is the first time I'm seeing them.
The photos look very posed and professionally done (esp. photos 2,3, and 4), so I suppose she is serious about the modeling thing. Well, I guess there are many photographers out there who are thankful there are delusional women like Christie, so they can make $$$ helping them get a "portfolio" together.
BTW, photo #3 makes me wonder if Christie has had plastic surgery on her nose...something about how it is narrow & then abruptly gets much wider at the bottom.

Thanks, Sharina . . . I agree with snowflake. She is ATTRACTIVE, but not model-esque! I just don't understand why she's even on this show. Rhonda has no better handle on Christie's "beauty addiction" than Christie does! If she truly has one, why encourage her modeling delusions?? I don't think she really believes she has a problem with her beauty. She just wants free plastic surgery and national face time. If she was there for substance abuse only, then i would swallow it but this 'i'm sooo beautiful' tangent needs to stop.

Snowflake, are you saying that Christie is "Spare Parts Girl"? LOL After today's show, I did notice that collarbone and neck area. You would think that came from a very thin woman. Her breasts have been augmented, so who knows how small she really was.
You made a good point about her face as well. Christie seems convinced that she has passed "pretty" and gone right on to "beautiful". SR, well, she simply said something like when other women look at her, they probably wonder why she feels she needs plastic surgery. I don't know exactly if she meant because of her face, body, or the "total package". Personally, I think Christie not only believes her face is stunning, but also isn't as "self-conscious" about her body as she would like us to believe. In my opinion, she seems to think if she got her scarred arm "fixed" and the loose skin on her legs excised, she'd have a rockin' bod. I really don't think she's aware of her mismatched "spare parts" condition.

I don't think she can be a model not because of her body but because after the photo shoot yesterday she found out it wasn't all glitz and glamour and it takes hard work and dedication.
Even she admitted she doesn't have the passion to pursue it and it was almost handed to her on a silver platter.
So that leaves the question..........what does she have passion to do? Laying around on the couch and never breaking a sweat do not pay the bills sweetie, time to get that big butt moving around a bit.
I was appalled at how excited she appeared on the phone when Rhonda told her what she would be doing yet she s-l-o-w-l-y lumbered up the stairs and that was supposed to be one of her dreams come true!!!! Even though I am plus size I would have beat feet up those stairs to share with my HG what a fantastic day Rhonda had planned for me.

It wasn't until her photo shoot that I felt compeled to respond to this post. She really can't model at all. There's being nervous and unsure and then there is what she did. Which was show absolutely no expression at all. Sure she is a good looking woman but it takes alot more than good looks to make money at that job.
I wish this show would start showing these women to more realistic career goals. Although it seems from the show that by the end, Christie kind of knew that she wasn't going anywhere with this. I wonder if Andy just told her the honest truth.

I feel sorry for Christie. With all of her beauty issues and all of her issues with her body, just even trying to model on the show has created all this heightened criticism of her.
Her face is very pretty and for a normal person, she is fine looking. Unfortunately, when you sya you want to model, then you have to be one of those freaks of snature with incredibly perfect porportions and good looks that are beyond ordinary good looks.
Hopefully, she got what she needed and she can give up the fantasy of modeling, which I think she thought was validating her prettiness and go on to having a happy life being a good looking normal person.

As I was watching the women dancing today Christie was very awkward, hardly moving and Bethany and others were moving and swaying unconcious of their size and body and actually looked good doing it. If you can't move your body and learn to feel comfortable with it you can't model. Time for another career makeover.
For once I actually liked Andy being involved with something in that she had very realistic advice about what it takes to be in the business. I also liked the activity in that it presented a real experience instead of art, goop, water slime or other silly activity that rarely gets the point across. You want to be a model, OK here's what real models are expected to be able to do and if you were actually serious about modeling here is what you already need to be doing before you go any further.
I would have loved to have seen Christine with a "real" experience about being an artist instead of being encouraged with that piece of paper that currently hangs on the SO wall. Perhaps a real experience with real artists not just the kind craft store women would have helped to truly understand the commitiment and skills required.

Christie what are you thinking??? Every time they talk about a possible career for her in modelling I get em bare assed for her. When she was on that photo shoot and she was sitting on the stool I kept thinking that the stool was about to break at any moment. Rhonda has no business encouraging her in that field cause who knows what addiction she'll turn to when faced with the rejection she is setting herself up for. No way she can handle it. I thought the life coaches were supposed to help the ladies set realistic goals. Rhonda has some weird attachment to Christie anyway and Andy Paige. if christie is old then i'm dead and buried. i think she's beautiful..so does my hubby. but then i was taught ugly is as ugly does. she's working out...and i'm very happy she's growing. she doesn't know how to model but then most ppl don't. but what a face she has..to me she's beautiful looking. and i'm starting to like her 'inside' from one girl with big butts in the family to another. Snowflake....I must give you "props" for always having the best photos to demonstrate a point......I thought Christie's legs looked like they belonged to someone else... along with her sagging butt....looking at her overall frame, she looks like she never had a chance at being super thin, anyway. Cosmetic surgery can only do so much and the rest of her body is really disproportioned...very mismatched, but at least she's learning the ultimate lesson and that is...that exercise and a healthy diet is the "true avenue" to obtain a super body.
(IMO) Christie is a pretty girl who should love herself as she is and give up on the modeling ideas...she's a bit too old for the start of this type of career even if she were to mold her body to fit.

Christie isn't old...she's just old in terms of launching a modeling career. I know there are all kinds of models---even senior citizen-models doing print ads for drug companies---but Christie made it clear she wants to be a fashion model. There are very specific physical requirements, which include, but are not limited to, being in shape AND having certain proportions. (SeasonedRefinement has given us an excellent birds-eye view of what is required in the modeling industry.) Don't forget, it is not enough for Christie to be considered "passable" in an average-woman-on-the-street sort of way. Her aspirations of "supermodel" (on her vision board) are begging us to compare her with Heidi Klum, Giselle, Kate Moss, Shalom, Amber Valletta, etc...and the mere thought is comical.
Good for Christie that she is exercising. But I hope her motivation is health/personal improvement, rather than the delusion that it will magically make her model material. Otherwise she is bound to eventually give up on fitness when she realizes it doesn't make you physically perfect.
Also, I'm kind of confused by Rhonda's advice to Christie...that exercise alone can get rid of excess skin and "flabbiness" resulting from gastric bypass surgery, and transform Christie into the ultimate "hard body". They have had GBS experts on the show with Sommer last season, so I know Rhonda is aware what she is telling Christie is not true.

I was hoping the one thing that Christie would get out of her workout with the trainer is:
• Hard work = Good, feel good about self
• Lounging on lazy butt 24/7 gossiping = Not good, get nowhere in life
But I have a feeling EverythingIsAllAboutLooksChristie will end up looking at the exercise as her way to achieve a look that is far too unreachable ... much like the supermodel career.
Again when her trainer showed up Christie makes a number of comments about "looks" ... Doesn't he look great? Isn't Niambi pretty? etc. Add that to all her comments about each new HM -- how pretty they are -- and it's clear Christie is still completely obsessed with outside appreance and little about making her inside "pretty" so she can appear much prettier than her physical appearance actually warrants.
Where's Marcus? I miss Marcus!! Maybe he got sick of trying to motivate such unmotivated people. Or maybe he heard Sommer was returning and he ran the other way as far & fast as he could. She was soooo in love last year!
