"Fame. The first eliminations"
So I'm pretty shocked to see Alysson Arena make it into the next round and Lauren Hildebrandt didn't. In my review of last week, I had Garry Adams and Raymond Lee on my list of who I wouldn't mind seeing go, and I really thought Lauren Hildebrandt delivered last week, she was one of my faves from last week's show. Allyson Arena REALLY picked a bad song for her voice.

Again, feel free to fast forward to see my final postings.

Jamisen has an AWESOME comeback from last week. And she looked great, as always .

Brandon O'Neal, I think, let me down from last week. I was impressed by his dancing but last week I was impressed by his entire performance.

Alex Boyd did a really nice job. "At Last", I think it's time a guy sang that song, and Alex kicked it.

Now I'm not bashing Shannon Bex, and I think she's good, but she's just picking songs that I personally (this is just me) that I'm not into. "Proud Mary", and now "Can't Fight The Moonlight", I mentioned this with "American Juniors", I think that song needs to be retured because all I think of when I hear it is Carmen Rasmusen, might not be the best thought when judging somebody's singing.

Serena and Harlemm, awesome as always.

Justin Jacoby, his rapping is really individualizing himself from the group, which is a good thing, and it's really keeping him on everybody's mind. He could be around for a while.

Raymond Lee, thought it was a better performance than last, but I don't know if he's up to the rest of the competition.

(----FAST FORWARD ENDS HERE----)

*Who are my picks after tonight's show?

Jamisen Tiangco, Alex Boyd, Harlemm Lee, Serena Henry

*Wouldn't mind seeing go homae after tonight?

Brandon O'Neal, Allyson Arena

1. "RE: Fame. The first eliminations"
I agree that some of the performances were off last night. I think it mainly had to do with finding out that they are staying about 2 seconds before they have to perform. I guess that is good training in the future, but I think it contributed to some of the performances that were lacking.

Jamison finally did a good job and I am really glad for her. I think Jamison, Serena, and Harleem had the best performances.

I am ready for Justin to go. His rap had a nice story, but he didn't flow well and was off beat. Flow is the most important thing in rap, well that and staying on beat.

I really thought Raymond was going to go last week, but he is very likeable. Allison did choose a bad song for her voice and talent.

I guess the weakest performers for me would be Justin and Raymond. I guess we will see what America thinks next week since I didn't vote.

LAST EDITED ON 06-26-03 AT 02:51 PM (EST)

I'm so glad Moi came back. She made me leave the room the night she couldn't hit a single note on her song.

Jaimeson(sp) I don't like. I think she has to force her voice way too much.

Raymond seems to age like a fine wine. I think he's got a lot in there yet to show.

The blonde chick who did the great "Proud Mary" performance last week miffed me off. Firstly, she sucked so hard I hit the screen. Then she sasses the panelists? GET HER OUT OF THERE.

And the kid who raps needs to belt some notes. Even Eminem can hold a tune. It's not easy for him but he pushes the envelope. The kid will be good ina couple years, but he is not anywhere near ready for stardom.

Allison should stop trying to dance so much. We know you can dance sweetie. now sing a song that doesn't have a high kick in it. I loved her so much the first show, but she's really let down with her performances.

I can't believe I can't rememebr her name but the girl from Vegas just DANNNNNNNNNNNG. I pick a showdown between her and Harlemm. Everyone else can go home. Those two have the truest talents.

I am glad they focused less on the dancing during the actual songs. We can see that stuff in the ensembles. High kicks don't sell your first record. Clay and Kelly can't do a rotating leap into a split but they're millionnaires. Just sing for us kids. We'll catch up to the dancing in the other stuff.

Yeah, but how much would you pay to see Ruben do a rotating leap into a split?

Not fair, I spit coke all over the desk. ROFLMAO, the visual here is just, shudder, painful. The poor boy would kill himself trying that. As it is, I worry about him trying to do a concert. I sure hope they have him into some kind of fitness program with a responsible person who knows how to work with the obese, not just fit stars that might need to lose 10 pounds.

I'm surprised Fame doesn't have a board of its own. I haven't been able to find one. I actually got to vote. I couldn't vote last week. I thought Jameson was the best. I wasn't going to bother even trying to vote until I heard her sing. Alex I can't stand. I think he is still there because he is a friend of Debbie's. Raymond was a little better but needs to go. I was also surprised that Lauren went and Allyson stayed. Brandon needs to go. I like Justin. Serena sounded a little thin to me. But she should be final 3 definitely. Harlemm is very talented. Both singing and dancing. Shannon was mediocre last night but I really like her and hope she lasts. Moy was good but I don't get the tattoos. My guess would be that Brandon and Allyson go. With Raymond as an alternate. I don't think it is fair to the kids to stand there and be all nervous and then to have to perform. I just wondered if there was a reason for the order the votes were read. Except for Serena, maybe they were in reverse order? That would have put Serena,Moy,Justin, and Harlemm as the top 4. I don't know maybe it was random.

6. "RE: Fame. The first eliminations"
I think Allyson got lucky due to Garry's elimination; he performed great but got booted because of that attitude, methinks.

Having said that, I thought Allyson was one of the stronger performers this time around -- but why pick that song?!! She's gone, I fear.

I have to say that I was a little confused this time around; not only did everyone seem to perform a little below par (except Shannon and Moy), but I thought there was a new rule about singing a slow song WITHOUT dancing until it got to Brandon!! Why did they suddenly all stop moving???

Best performances:
Shannon -- because she goes out to win every time
Raymond -- picked a song perfect for his voice
Moy -- that pose at the end was a killer!

Other thoughts:
Harlemm: song choice SUCKED,but I love him
Serena: sounded a little off on some notes, but no-one else seemed to care..
Alex: nice voice; picked a song for grannies.
Jamisen: she's still here because she's a cute little J-Lo. Has not proved she has the chops to stay in (for me)...
Justin: great talent {is it spooky that his mother is a cute blond a la Kim Basinger in 8 Mile???}, but needs some beats and music to go with the rapping...
Brandon: did a great performance , but it lacked power.

About to be booted? Allyson and Brandon.

I taped that episode and when I was first watching it and when I replayed it the next day, both times I wondered if Lauren Hildebrand had an inkling she was going to be eliminated, or if she was just really, really nervous and scared - from the very start of the show, she looked very solemn and unhappy each time the camera panned on her face (except when they were performing as a group). I felt Gerry was going to be eliminated, because when he opened his mouth after his number on last week's show, he sounded lame. He should have said "thanks for your comments judges" and shut up.

Shannon Bex has a great voice, and she's thin, beautiful, and a good solid performer. So why don't I like her very much? She seems fake to me, and reminds me a little too much of Britney Spears. I like Moi because her personality comes across more naturally to me - she's had on night and off nights, but when she kicks it, she really kicks it. I loved the one-arm pushup she ended her song with - that girl is strong!

Harlem is still my favorite - he imprints his personality on every song he sings and he has incredible command of his voice. Woooooooo Harlem!

Mmmm Topaz

9. "RE: Fame. The first eliminations"
I am so glad that I am not the only person that feels this way! I think that Allyson is a fantastic dancer, but has chosen horrible songs to sing for her style including tonights song. I believe she would thrive on broadway, but just doesn't have it in her to be a "pop" star. I was sorry to see Jamisen go tonight, but thought she was a little weak last week (cute as a button though). Brandon sang ain't no sunshine like there was no tomorrow, but there are a few others that really surprised me by not doing as well as I expected. It will be interesting to see how this whole thing ends up. As for Shannon Bex...I have to say that she may have chosen better songs but I thought that she showed guts doing that Tina Turner number and really came back with Fighter tonight like a champ. It seems that a lot of people do not seem to like her and I am not sure why. She has looks, can dance and sings well enough which I thought was the triple threat and what they were looking for. I hope to see her back again. The fact that she is a dead ringer for Britney Spears doesn't hurt either.

Actually the fact that she is alot like Britney Spears and Christy Aglar is hurting her. How are people, those of us who are old and could care less about bubble gum music, suppose to tell them apart. They all sound alike.

That said, I do like Shannon. She entertains me, and that is what this is ultimately about.

But I have to say, I LOVE HARLEEM. If he does not win, this thing is rigged.

I enjoyed the performances of Serena, Harlemm, and Brandon the most. The rest were okay.

I really wouldn't mind if Justin, Alex, or Shannon left next week.

What is up with the spoiler guy? I hope he is entertaining next week!
