"Official Summary: The Real World Key West Episode 22: Someone Is Selfish"
The drama filled saga of a group of strangers living together continues. Last week, we saw the bickering McBickersons go after each other…will it continue? Let’s see if Ty can finish the marathon without urinating off someone in the house.

Skinny update: As this episode begins, Skinny is beginning to get hungry. After looking around the kitchen, she settles on half a hamburger dill pickle chip. Skinny is happy for the time being.

Ty is training for a marathon (26 miles) that is going to be held in West Palm Beach. Ty is shown jogging around with sweat glistening off his body trying to get in shape for the event. I really don’t think Ty has the body for a marathon runner, as he appears to be fairly “thick” around the waist. I don’t want to judge too much here, as I am as big as a cow and couldn’t run 2 miles much less 26!

Later that evening, Janelle and Jose are in their vehicle talking about Jose. Janelle tells Jose that she would like to see him open up to everyone and just be himself. Jose tells her that he loves everyone in the house and that opening up is a very personal thing. Good grief Janelle…let Jose be himself and let him “tell” or “not tell” whatever the fvck he wants. Janelle thinks she has to be the center of all the drama that is ever created!

I guess we now have all the slick editing needed in order to understand what is going to happen this episode. Ty will run the marathon but will he make it? Also, Jose will finally open up and talk about his life to someone but will it be everyone? Let’s find out…

Things start going downhill faster than a marble dropping from the Empire State Building! Everyone is in the kitchen when the marathon is mentioned and John asks what is going on. Ty explains that Jose, Paula and Zach came up to him and asked specifically is they could go to the marathon with him. He decided that would be a good idea but wasn’t going to invite everyone, as he just wanted to concentrate on the race. Oh good grief, here goes the drama for this week because the invitations weren’t sent and someone is feeling left out!

John doesn’t get that upset but tells Ty he is being selfish and that it is all about Tyler. Slutty? Not taking it so well! Slutty tells Ty that she can’t believe he is that selfish. (WTF? Is there anyone in the house as selfish as Slutty?) Ty pulls the bitch out of the bag and tells Slutty that this isn’t about her and that he just wants to worry about the race. All the while, Janelle maintains that this is about HER supporting Ty.

Geezus! I think Ty has hit a nerve and that he knows exactly what he is talking about because Janelle is all bent out of shape and gets very defensive. Ty continues to tell her exactly as he sees things. It is just one huge pissing contest…who wins? I don’t care!

The day the four are leaving for the marathon has arrived and Ty has written a note to the ones not going. Ty says that he wants to explain himself a little better. The four leave the house and head for West Palm Beach.

The four go out to eat and Jose begins to open up. Jose’s mother had him when she was seventeen years old and that he was a “welfare” baby. He goes on to explain that as a kid his dad once told him that he was going “to be a piece of sh*t just like him” (him being Jose’s dad). Jose tells the others that this is his motivation in most everything he does in life. I know that many of us have said that Jose is the most mature one in the house and to see that he has had such a tough life makes it all more impressive. Can I marry Jose now?

The editors make the marathon all dramatic and wondering if Ty will make it. Ty does well for a while and then starts having knee problems. The roomies find him and give him a pep talk and he is off and running. Ty makes it across the finish line and gets hugs from his roomies. Ty is happy with the support the roomies gave him and says he wouldn’t have made it without them.

John and Janelle find the letters and discuss Ty’s excuses. The only thing that stands out to John is the lack of an apology. Janelle is still hooked on how it (this situation) is ALL about Ty. Good grief! Why is it when someone complains about something they are usually guilty of said offense? The two of them say that Tyler is only looking out for himself…guess what bitches? WELCOME TO THE FRIGGIN REAL WORLD!

Back at the house, Tyler has made up with everyone and kisses all around!

OH.THE.DRAMA!

I finally blogged

Lvoed the summary Vols! I do 6 miles on the treadmill at the gym, but only run 4 of those miles. It takes me 55 minutes to do those 6 miles, running 7.1 miles an hour, and usually burn over 700 calories.
I cannot fathom running 26 miles. My calorie burn would be off the scale, my ankles and knees would hurt to no end, that is, if I survived it.
..... and me running on a treadmill is way easier than running on hard ground. When I jog on the trails here, I have to be careful of rocks, and uneven surfaces, as you can really mess up your knees easily if you're not careful.

I don't know how people run 26 miles... or even why...

We could ask the same question about people who jump out of airplanes or off the tops of skyscrapers, do certain extreme sports, compete in Motorcross or use a motorcycle to jump between two buildings or over 20 busses, go white water rafting on raging rivers, explore underwater caves, stick needles in their arms, or sign up to become a cast member on reality shows. Some people are just plain twisted.

Does all this make me "normal" by comparison? Nope.
