I'm trying to like Kevin, but I just don't understand his appeal, I really think Gedeon and Will were better overall. Melissa also surprised my by slipping in there. I thought Ayla would get it over her. Oh well though, my favorites, Chris, Taylor, Ace, and Mandisa easily made it, so it's all good in the end.   Top

I'm surprised that Ayla went over Melissa, but i'm not upset. I think Melissa gives the girls more diversity as to styles and singing. Ayla did sing too contemporary a song. You see that on MTV and on teh radio RIGHT NOW. Simon was right. I felt terrible for her last night. For the boys, I'm extremely surprised the Gedeon is gone. I wouldn't have guessed that in a million years. But again, I'm not upset. My theory is that, to me, Gedeon came across as overly confident, and someone 'plastic' to a degree. IN the interviews, and the pre-song blurbs, he didn't seem real. Rewatch the explanation of the painting. It was delivered in a truly robotic manner. Kevin is real. Bucky is real. Gedeon? Not the same. I could be way off base, because he definately can sing. Thoughts? geekboy   Top

Becuase they were the weakest singers. Melissa does not belong in the top twelve. SHe is not in the same class with the girls that are left. Ayla had proven she belonged. But as I have always said this is more of a popularity contest until the end when you just have to be honest and the best wins. Bo made it to the final 2 last year and last night he proved that he does not belong with the the final 12 that were picked last night. Kevin was the greatest injustice last night he does not belong I was shocked when they had already elimnated will and then Kevin was not the second person eliminated. I know I am not alone when I say " This is a singing contest not a who's the weirdest contest." Nice kid but not real, the closest he will ever get to Rap is buying a CD. He is nothing more than a novelty some one to laugh at like Clay Aiken still is. JAGS   Top

First, Bo deserved to be in the final two last year, no question whatsoever. He was the best performer from last year, and one of the most diverse singers that AI has ever had. Because he came back with a cold, a sore throat, or whatever he obviously had last night gives you a chance to insert your cheap shot. Secondly, you also got in a cheap shot at Clay Aiken, who JUST LIKE BO deserved to be in the final two for season two. Kevin has proven he can sing, and he hasn't even tried to rap on teh show, but of course you know he cannot? Try to make your points on facts, and do not stoop to making unfound comparisons or claims. geekboy ETA: did you vote?   Top

"RE: Surprised...but not upset" I disagree about Melissa and given the lack of focus on her, the voters wanted to end a message to Idol not to overlook her. How else would she be in the top 12? I was not going to vote this year but I voted for her after Simon panned her with his "ticket home" comment. It was easy to get through and vote for her and I thought she would be gone. So Ayla's line must have been even easier to get through to! I am glad Melissa has one more chance to show her stuff. She was more memorable for me than Lisa, Paris, Kinnik or Ayla. She may not get close to top 5 but she has enough chops to be top 12 and I hope top 10. I also disagree about Bo. I missed Bo last night due to a taping problem. However, Bo could sing the yellow pages and I would like it. His ablum was ok, I am waiting for him to make one that really reflects what he likes and not what someone is packaging him up to be.   Top

I thought Ayla was a solid performer and likeable. Gideon, as a performer and vocalist, has it all over Kevin & even Bucky. Ayla, I'm guessing, just didn't have enough pizzazz. I thought she was getting better and I'm sorry to see her go. I can only think that Kevin & Bucky have built up fan bases - Bucky probably has the country music crowd and Kevin has whatever he has (the granny vote? the root for the underdog vote? the oh-he's-so-adorable-I-want-to-pinch-his-cheeks vote?), and Gideon simply didn't grab any sort of mass audience with his song choices. Just my guess...he's another one I'm sorry to see go, I really liked what he did the last two weeks.   Top
