I don't know about you but I just wasn't feeling the love between Aaron and Helene. It was like watching a chickflick (with a sucky ending, where's a good scriptwriter when you need one) with no chemistry between the actors. I still think Gwen should have been standing there in the end. And didn't you guys just love how Aaron's dad greeted both girls "------- a beautiful name for a beautiful girl". On to the Bachelorette.....

I was sure that Aaron was going to pick Helene because he was always pursuing her. He was alway initiating the kiss; he was always asking the questions. Also, I watched the Bachelor Diaries on the website and Aaron always had a big smile on his face when he talked about Helene.I hope they have a better relationship than Alex and Amanda!

2. "Not qualified but...." |
I don't know if I'm really qualified to give an opinion on this since the one and only episode I watched of The Bachelor was the finale. Maybe that makes my perspective "cleaner," but here it is.I thought during the whole show that the feelings between Aaron and Helene were real and "mature." The trickest part of being Helene in that situation is realizing that you don't really know what Aaron is thinking. He may have already decided to propose to Brooke and she'd feel a fool going TOO deep down the "I love you and we'll be together forever" road. I can imagine she had to keep her emotions somewhat in check to avoid what happened to Brooke. Helene seemed more of a "realist" - not to mention the fact that she is a few years older and wiser and better established. Brooke on the other hand, came off to me as genuine, but somewhat starry-eyed. She kept saying "By the end of the night, I could be engaged" and seemed to have an immature view of marriage. There is not "one person" for you, it's a lot of work and it takes COMMITTMENT based on mutual goals, respect, etc. I saw Brooke as being more of the "I'm married and I've reached my goal, this THE ONE - period" rather than Helene who seemed to have a perspective of "I'm married to a wonderful man, our lives together begin now". I also thought Brooke was trying to hard to impress the family whereas Helene seemed at ease and very comfortable. I don't know - I just thought Helene was more mature and realistic and they both seemed so comfortable around each other. They just "fit." I was so happy for her and I've got a great feeling about them! IMHO Why are you looking at me? Stop looking at me. I said, STOP -- wait, what? OK, never mind.

3. "RE: Wrong choice?" |
I only watched two episodes of this series -- the first episode and the last (although from reading the summaries people have been writing, I feel like I've seen them all.)I found a number of funny things about Aaron's family -- the Dad who knowing he's being taped for national TV, can't even come up with a second opening line for the second girl, the mother who apparently feels that since she'd already been walking around barefoot and pregant for several years by the time she was 27 years old apparently there's gotta be something terribly wrong with anyone who's not, etc. Also let's call Aaron what is he -- a spoiled little rich kid working at the family company, living the life of Riley off the family fortune -- which is fine, but enough with trying to present him as some type of "self made" rich, successful, man of the world. The fact he even tried to make refusing to let the producers buy the ring an issue is laughable, what difference does it make if it's ABC's money paying for the ring or his Daddy's... -SB

I think Aaron made the right decision. Helene is a big goof and you could tell by the way that they were able to laugh with each other that their relationship could have real staying power. I was so happy to see them wind up together!

I also only watched a couple of the shows. I agree that Helene had a really fun attitude. Love her smile. I also watched them on the news show this morning. Cute couple. Brooke was there and she is one classy lady. She even agreed to meet them face to face at the end of the interview to congratulate them. Class.

Okay, I watched the whole season and I personally feel that he made the right choice considering the two women he had to choose between.Things between Brooke and Aaron started out really well in the first episodes but then they started being "weird" around each other with the episode before the finale and kind of in the finale. In the finale, Brooke seemed really fake to me. She just half-way seemed interested in what Aaron was showing her and everything. As far as the visits with the family, I think you could've split the screen in two and showed both dates at the same time, because they were exactly the same and it would've saved the show from going into the second hour. The only thing that was different was the dinner with the family. I thought Brooke's dinner was funny because Aaron's sister-in-law kept giving Brooke glares and so did the grandmother. The family didn't seem too comfortable around her at dinner. Anyway, that's my two cents on the show.
