Just to keep things straight; ABC and Stone Stanley are referring to the Celeb Mole as Mole 3. The next "real person" mole will be Mole 4.

I knew about the Variety/Reuters article -- I posted the news item. But that article did not refer to "Celebrity Mole" as "Mole 3."
Plus, MoleNut told us that "ABC and Stone Stanley" are referring, etc. ... -- it's unusual that someone would refer to Stone Stanley in that context ... but it's not impossible; I might have written it that way.

As it happens, I'd be suspicious of someone affiliated with Survivor Entertainment Group (SEG) who posted on these boards, due to Mark Burnett's well-known campaigns of secrecy and disinformation. I'd expect a Burnett person to feed us trash.
However, I have no such skepticism about Stone Stanley. I thought they did a great job with Mole 2 (especially because, other than Anderson Cooper, I didn't care for Mole 1 all that much) -- even if ABC was too blinded by their non-Disney status to appreciate it. This board became so active not because of my moderating skills or Bebo's witty repartee but because people were finding and enjoying Mole 2.
So, welcome, MoleNut.

I really don't think they should dignify celebrity Mole by giving it a number.
If they're going to go with this horrible idea, maybe they should start giving them negative - or better yet, imaginary - numbers.
