PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

I am delighted that the Mole will return. That is good news. The bad news is that Mole 3 will be a celebrity edition, and as others have pointed out on these boards a "celebrity edition" is usually the kiss of death. The kinds of celebs they get for these editions are the type with no career left or are between shoots on Hollywood Squares. Another potential downside is that the regular people Mole4 will apparently be only 9 episodes. I enjoyed the extended play of 13 episodes in Mole2, and I do not think a cutback is a good sign, but better a reduced Mole than no Mole at all.

mocha madness, I agree with you. However, the networks have been clamoring for "celebrity" editions of all of these reality shows (a la "Battle of the Network Stars" from the 70s ... 80s ... or sometime in the past), and "The Mole" is the show most conducive to a celebrity edition, because it doesn't involve a lot of personal sacrifice -- no rats or poisonous snakes, no "locked in a house", no third-world countries. If it works, look for Stone Stanley to use the celebrity editions as leverage for more "regular" Moles on ABC. If not ... nothing ventured, nothing gained! I agree about the extended play of Mole 2 -- although it's also a possibility that Mole 2 was better because Stone Stanley learned more about producing and editing it. I'd rather have a 13-episode Mole 4 next summer, but I guess I'll take whatever we can get.

I'm glad The Mole is continuing, but I'm not thrilled about "Overexposed Celebrity Mole" either. Most of the "Celebrities" picked for these types of programs have already worn out their welcome (GOD HELP ME IF I SEE KATO KAELIN AGAIN!!!). I also agree that these shows are usually the "kiss of death" (can you say "Weakest Link"? I knew ya could!), but I'm holding out hope that this won't be the case for The Mole.
