"so the question still remains....what was the answer?"
now that it's all said and done i'm curious, what was everyone's guess? i was personally banking on it being Suriname, South America. everything added up (except the underwear part, but i doubt i'll ever figure that one out). but suriname was one of the clients listed on gomining.com's website, and there is also a ORANGE mountain range located in the SOUTHEAST sector of the country, which is located in the "G"uiana region, the suriname flag has FIVE horizontal bars as well as a FIVE pointed star in the center, and the LONGITUDE of suriname falls within 56.28' W (incase you are wondering how i got that number, i added 18.28.48.18, from the time marker in the last episode, which equals 112 and then i divided that by 2 to get 56 and 4 to get 28...i know, it was a long shot). Oh, and not to mention the fact that BODNICK is in fact still alive and as he stated in the very first episode "you can find me sitting by a pool...in South America..."

so, after countless nights of going to bed at 4:30am that is the answer i have come upon. at this point i'm hoping that it is wrong...that way i won't be nearly as pissed at myself for not getting the phone number in time.

1. "No location.....A phone number instead?"
I'm with you apodixis. I was so sure we were looking for a location that I discounted all the posters who kept saying we were looking for a phone number. I even had the clue: VONGILUNAIL and spent countless minutes trying to unscramble the letters. I was pretty sure that I had screwed up the clue and that my letters were supposed to read LONG ISLAND. I kept looking through my atlas....

In all honesty, had I read your logic yesterday, I would have subscribed to the Suriname theory as it is the first theory that has made any sense at all!

2. "RE: No location.....A phone number instead?"
I too wasted a lot of time trying to unscramble letters because I was sure it was a web site. And to make matters worse, my phone line went dead at about 4:00 p.m. so I was without a phone or the internet. Once I figured out it was a phone number, I called on my cell phone at 8:25 p.m. Central time and got in, but I got so much interference because we were in the middle of a rain storm that it wasn't recording my name and other information and I had to disconnect. So I ran to the neighbor's house to borrow their phone and got in officially at 8:28 p.m. I am going to be so mad if it turns out that the winner entered between 8:25 and 8:28 p.m.!

4. "does any body else feel like they took it up the _ _ _?"
wait a second...i swear to god the rules i read on abc's website said that the winner would be determined by the first person who phoned in "with the right answer". isn't that why everyone (including myself) was scrambling around trying to make some sense out of all of these ridiculous clues? i thought the whole point of the game was to find where the money was hidden?!?! how the hell was that accomplished by just decoding a phone number? this sucks, i want a refund. do you have any idea how many freakin' hours i wasted trying to pin point a location. i have never learned so much about south america in my life! all for what?!?! i wasted all of that time and in result wasn't prepared to decode the phone number (not to mention the fact that derek cecil said the clues like a true ass, he grouped everything together like they were in pairs!) yes, i am still bitter. i spent at least 10 hours a day for the past two and a half weeks researching this damn show inside and out, frame by frame, site by site, word by word... and the only thing i've learned is that i will never be a damn millionare!

next time explain the damn rules a little better affleck! and while you're at it you may want to think about taking up some acting classes.

Dear Apodixis, I know how you feel. I too became a bit obsessed...okay, more than a bit. I scoured the internet every evening for hours. I found much more complicated clues than the actual answers. Then, I couldn't even figure out how to enter! Putting it in perspective, I guess that the show's concept was fun, but the game rules were not explained well. We were led to believe that we were looking for a location rather than a phone number. But look on the bright side. We learned about the dangers of getting too "into" a contest, and our geography and research skills improved tremendously. I'm relieved and ready to spend time with my family again....even without the million +. I hope that you win your million some day!

6. "Misleading?"
My husband kept laughing at me looking for the 'location' of the missing money since we knew damn well that Scary-Mary had taken it out of Silas' casket and given it to Daddy-dearest. I am positive the ABC advertisments said 'find the location of the missing money'. Whatever!

(not to mention the fact that derek cecil said the clues like a true ass, he grouped everything together like they were in pairs!)
Apodixis, I am so glad that someone else feels this way too. I wrote down his clue to read "(9th place 1st, 5th place 1st,...). I started inverting letters and spent tonnes of time playing around that way. Although, I disagree that DC was a true ass, because I think he handled the wacko-conspiracy theorist role pretty well. Hope we see him in something again soon.

7. "RE: Misleading?"
LAST EDITED ON 10-30-02 AT 03:53 PM (EST)

I spent hours and hours on this darn thing. I came up with Gainesville, Florida! Since the contest ended, I have shredded, burned, stomped on and screamed at my notes, but some of what I remember leading me toward Gainesville:

Florida is where most of the orange juice comes from.

There is Morse code 'museum' or group or whatever in Gainesville.

The G-note is a big nightclub in Gainesville, mostly amateur nights, but Tom Petty has played there, for example.

The university put on Peter Pan in its theater department.

Florida is in the southeast.

Morning would "Dawn" there first...

There were other things that made it make sense, but it's all water under the bridge now...'under where?!'

8. "RE: Misleading?"
thank god. i was starting to feel like i was losing my mind. i was beginning to think i was the only one who was looking for a location, although i know that prior to monday night i had read numerous posts about where people thought the money was. why, i ask, were so many people looking for the location of the money if we were only supposed to find the phone number? how were so many people mislead? it's a damn conspiracy i tell ya! i know for a fact taht at one time the rules clearly stated that the winner would be decided by the first person to call with the right answer, and on top of that all of the advertising for the game read "find the missing money and win!" misleading? i'd say so. how about next time you guys decide to change the rules you tell us about it!

putting all of that aside, i do feel a little better now that i know i'm not the only one who has spent countless hours (aka days) trying to find a location. do you have any idea how many people (including myself) i had convinced that the money was in Suriname, South America? i thought for sure i was the winner! there is so much useless information floating around in my head right now that i don't even know what to do with it. not only had i read every single push related website out there, i had re-read them over an over again, and took notes upon notes looking for keywords and phone numbers and URL's. i actually consumed half of an entire note pad just on (useless) Push.NV notes. it's amazing how the mind works; you start to rationalize some of the stupidest concepts after a while.

and to think, there was actually a point where i absolutely loved this show...now, well now i am to the point where i may never watch another ben affleck film strictly out of spite.

9. "RE: Misleading?"
i am wondering if this 'phone number' was actually the 'same' ending of the original contest with complete episodes? my real feeling is that when they decided to cut it short, they just 'gave' us those last several clues to make them fit a phone number they could get. in other words, for a 'new contest ending', having nothing to do with a location. (which i am sure the true contest would have asked for had this not been pulled mid-run...just my gut feeling!) i just believe this is not the ending affleck and company had when they originally put this together.

That's a good point. Daddy dearest had the money in episode 7, but things sure could have changed in six more weeks. Who know where it was supposed to have turned up....Suriname perhaps!

I'll bet it was part of the ending. The original rules mentioned that the ultimate solve would provide the medium by which to enter the contest. I think that all along the phone number was intended to be that medium, and that the clue we received from Derek Cecil on MNF would have been the same, just delivered on a different date.

But I also think that if the story had been allowed to play out, then the "ultimate solve" would have been more complicated than just to be the first caller. There probably would have been some sort of question to answer once you got through, either a multiple choice or open-ended question regarding the location.

13. "My final answer."
I know after the last episode I gave an explanation of where I thought the money was by saying it was in California. Basically, I was just trying to give out misleading information so that I could maybe steer a few people in the wrong direction. So with my last post to this board concerning Push, Nevada, I will give my final explanation. First looking at the clues.

Episode 2: Television
Episode 3: Oranges
Episode 4: Peter Pan
Episode 5: G
Episode 6: Morse Code
Episode 7: www.toyota18.com
Five
Longitude
Underwear
Southeast
Bodnick
Eliot

I took the first letter of each clue making it:

TOP GMW FL US BE

I went ahead and split it how I saw it fit to make sense. It seemed to me to be asking a question almost. Who is the top GMW (for manager, head, CEO, man in control) in Florida, USA? The answer I came up with is the answer was not a location but a person. Also in the final episode, Jim meantioned about a guy theoretically named Sam in Chicago and the whole complicated senario dealing with the Versailles Casino, Push's stores, the payout at the casino, Sloman getting a piece of the cash. I suppose he was refering to a person. Also in the final episode, they kept highlighting when Jim was writing his final report a certain man in his report. Also in episode 6, they showed then new group that was after the money against Watermark and the suits. I looked at the symbol again on the cover of the Push, Nevada Experiment by T.S. Griffin. If you look at the symbol, it sort of looks like that eye that is the symbol for CBS.

This adds up to one final answer, Michael Eisner has the money and is the co-conspiritor behind Push, Nevada. CBS wants to take money from Michael Eisner. Eisner owns the world, just like Watermark. This also explains why Derek Cecil in the final episode and MNF acted like he had to get his information out so quickly was that he was taking Michael Eisner's time to reveal that he was behind the conspiracy. It is a really complicated explanation, I know, but it seems to fall into all the conspiracy theories behind Push, Nevada. Thanks again you all for a great game. This is the Bigdog, Signing off.
