PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

"WSC2 Awards" |
First of all, a huge thanks to everyone who entered, everyone who read the entries, and everyone who voted. Once again, the talent shown by the members of this board was outstanding. The broad array of talent was clearly demonstrated in the voting--every single piece received at least one vote. So are you ready for the awards? Good!First, a brief explanation of how the winners were determined. I used a weighted points system wherein first place votes were worth 3 points, second place votes were worth 2 points, and third place votes were worth 1 point. Make sense? I hope so! Okay, here are the winners! Yay! Non-Fiction (NF) Gold: The First Time by TechNoir Silver: Christmas at Gram's by fivestarwheezy Bronze: Echo by echogirl Flash Fiction (FF) Gold: Undoing by Superman Silver: Girl Kiss by snoocharoo Bronze: Hello Daddy by echogirl Short Stories (SS) Gold: Baby Killer by snoocharoo Silver: The Kind-Hearted Woman by blacknwhitedog Bronze: On a Dark Day by fivestarwheezy Humor (HU) Gold: Voices, Part 1 by echogirl Silver: Top Ten Things You Don't Want to Hear From Your Homeroom Teacher by Survivorerist Bronze: The Ski Trip by RudyRules Persona Narrative (PN) Gold: As My World Turns by LadyT Silver: The Big Game by L82LIFE Free Verse (FV) Gold: New Year's Day by samiam Silver: Joy Ride by Asrai Bronze: Free Man by Superman Rhyming Poetry (RP) Gold: The Humblest by fivestarwheezy Silver: Bondage by Naked Bronze: My Brother by RudyRules Painting/Drawing (PD) Gold: The Tasting by MellowYellow Silver: The Undressing by MellowYellow Photography (PH) Gold: The Road by echogirl Silver: Shadows by idiotcowboy Bronze: Ice Age by echogirl Visual Art (VA) Gold: Ocean Electric by echogirl Silver: Deadhead by echogirl (tie) Silver: Trash Talking Terry Doll by MellowYellow (tie) Salman Rushdie Award This is the award that has been given since the first contest to the person who did not win another award but embodies the spirit of the contest. In the past, it's typically been someone who went out of their way to give lots of feedback or who flexed their creative muscles by entering pieces in several different categories. This time, though, the winner reminds us all that a good portion of the contest is being brave enough to let others see your work. In a contest that has primarily adults as its entrants, there was one high school student (that I know of) who stepped up to the plate and took his cuts. And that takes a lot of guts. So I'm awarding this contest's Salman Rushdie Award to magic_star. Yay, Star! Looking forward to reading more of your work in future contests. Thanks again, everyone, for making the contest such a success. Criminals From the Neck Up

Boy, are you fast, or what?! I'm so happy to be a part of such an awesome group of talented/creative writers/artists. Huge congrats to all who entered the contest. That, in itself, was my proudest moment. "This has turned into a sorority porn movie, and I'm the Head Mistress!" - Kathy from The Celebrity Mole

What an amazing bunch of writers and artists we have on this site. I am continually amazed by the talent that one website can attract.Unfortunately, I did not get to read every piece, but I hope I can catch up on that in the near future. I was also working on a 2nd installment of "The Justice League of Canadian Super-Duper Heroes" for the PN category, but I fell short and didn't get it done in time . I'll either post it in the interim, or wait until the next competition. Great work to all!
