Once again, the talent shown by the members of this board was outstanding. The broad array of talent was clearly demonstrated in the voting--every single piece received at least one vote. So are you ready for the awards? Good! First, a brief explanation of how the winners were determined. I used a weighted points system wherein first place votes were worth 3 points, second place votes were worth 2 points, and third place votes were worth 1 point. Make sense? I hope so! In the past, it's typically been someone who went out of their way to give lots of feedback or who flexed their creative muscles by entering pieces in several different categories. This time, though, the winner reminds us all that a good portion of the contest is being brave enough to let others see your work. In a contest that has primarily adults as its entrants, there was one high school student (that I know of) who stepped up to the plate and took his cuts. And that takes a lot of guts. So I'm awarding this contest's Salman Rushdie Award to magic_star. Yay, Star! Looking forward to reading more of your work in future contests.
