The show isn't on for hours yet. I busted my hump to get my picks in and it's already locked. In past versions I've gotten closed out because I didn't get home from work in time a few times, but since I can now enter my picks from home or work I've been able to hit the 6 pm deadline. Whose idea was it to make it earlier? The Jewish mother is NOT happy. Oh, well onto next season. I'll know what place I should have been in even though some evil person locked Spoiler Island too early. For the record, my picks would have been F4 - IC - Butch Boot - Jenna F3 - IC - Matthew Boot - Butch Winner - Matthew

I'll know what place I should have been in even though some evil person locked Spoiler Island too early. OK, as the resident evil person here, I want to officially state that I do not deserve credit for locking Spoiler Island. And since the deadline was 2pm on the day of the show all season, I can't even properly classify it as evil behavior. Evil would have been doing something twisted like only allowing people to make entries between 2:21 and 2:22 am...but they don't let me make the rules here. Maybe that's wise. I'm sure I used to put my picks in around 5:45 on Thursdays, after work, waiting for last minute spoilers.Guess I should have read these replies back in May and I wouldn't be in the same boat this season. I just read the rules and no deadline time is given - and 2 pm doesn't even sound vaguely familiar. For the record, that's a little early for working people and kids who are in school all day. I guess from now on I'll know - and I'll know where my son and I should have been in the standings.

I just read the rules and no deadline time is given - and 2 pm doesn't even sound vaguely familiar. If you look at the actual page where you make your picks, the lock time beside each one says 2:00 PM. For the record, that's a little early for working people and kids who are in school all day. Webby made that change to keep the game fair, instead of letting the lemmings who made last-minute changes based on other sites' spoilers have an advantage. People were complaining that the only way to win was to wait for Snewser and then change your picks. That was taking the fun out of things. Sorry you missed the deadline this week. But Webby gives us all nearly a week to post our picks. Since there's no penalty for changing picks, there's no reason not to make a pick early in the week and then change it if desired as the deadline gets closer. Fighting for evil (and neat forums) since 2002

You're right - in very small print (too small for me to read, btw), it does say 2 pm. It really should be in big print both in the rules at at the top of the login page. But I'm right that it was changed for S6, aren't I? I know I'm not crazy. I used to post my picks after work. I don't mean to harp on this, but I've been with the game since the beginning and, until the end of S6, only missed submitting my picks when I was away from a computer (like on vacation or during a power failure or something). For the record, "jansella" and "shawna is hot" both would have picked Drake, Drake, and Ryan S. if we had known the deadline was while we were still at work and in school today. "jewishsportsmom" would have picked Morgan, Morgan and Rupert just to be different. We also don't know if Snewser has picked yet because we haven't checked and don't usually check. Is there any way we can get the deadline moved back to 6 pm? Why does anyone care how people are arriving at their picks? Part of spoiling is to figure out who to believe and who to ignore.

1 - The 2PM pick deadline has now been in place for TWO SEASONS. 2 - It's posted on it's OWN COLUMN on the pick page called (crypticly enough) "LOCK TIME" 3 - You already didn't notice it LAST SEASON and made a big deal about it last May... after it had been the same for 13 weeks already. 4 - If you used to be in the "habit" of putting picks in at 5:45, it wasn't last spring, because the game locked at 2PM all last season. If you're so forgetful that even after missing the pick deadline last season you still couldn't remember the lock time was 2PM despite what happened to you last season or that you didn't think that if you had any possible doubt as to the lock time you might want to confirm the lock time in advance (what would have given you any reason to assume it was going to be later this season?) then it's my opinion that your issues extend far beyond anything I can help you address.

I just want to add one thing, janisella. We made the change after the fiasco that was S5, when people waited for Snewser's "picks" () to be posted and then changed their own selections to match. We decided that it wasn't fair to the dedicated spoilers who tried to figure out what was going to happen -- or even to the casual game-players who weren't able to get to a computer on Thursdays in time to change (if they needed to do so). So ... what to do? Well, we decided to go to a 2 PM boot deadline, after verifying that Snewser would rarely publish his information from the murky streams prior to that time. Our feeling is that this is the fairest way to select a winner. It's not ideal, but it permits Snewser to freely disseminate his info and it permits "gamers" to actually play Spoiler Island. Yes, it would be nice if we could go back to a 6 PM lock time -- but we can't, unless we want to give up the "game" aspect of Spoiler Island and turn it back into a "race," as it was in S5. Sorry for the inconvenience, but -- since CBS no longer gives much in the way of clues during the morning show -- it seemed to us that people could pick on Wednesday night and generally not have to worry about missing something important.
