Ebug's Cornertime With Kismet
<When the camera begins to roll we see Kismet sitting on a stool facing a wall. A timer clock mounted on the wall clicks off the time remaining 3, 2, 1. A loud Buzzing sound is heard and she stands and turns. The camera moves back and focuses on the occupant of the other corner. Kismet begins speaking as she slowly walks across to the other occupant.>
Thank you for joining us SurvivorBlows Community and welcome to a new feature of Eye In The Sky News. This is the beginning of a series of interviews. We have a great group of board regulars, both old and new, that we would all love to know more about. Fortunately, everyone gets into trouble at some point and winds up 'standing in the corner'. As the news person, I am obligated to report on the various misdoings of our board members. I spend a great deal of time here myself(You can see that it is effective punishment?), so I have decided to use their forced inactivity to get some interviewing in as well.
Joining me today is Ebug. She was sent to the Corner for being a tattletale. Ebug, aka Drive My Car, Ebuggy, and Auntie Evil has been a regular on this board from the beginning. She is one of the boards most beloved posters and the Official Newbie Greeter of Survivor Blows.
Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed. <chuckle> Are you ready to begin? Good, Let's start with an easy question. How did you find SB and why did you stay?
I found SB the way many people did during Survivor 1. I read an newspaper article about a website called Survivor Sucks. I had fun reading the message boards, and signed up for an account. I got an email the next day telling me their boards were closed to new members. So I just read them for a while. One day there was a big stink about a new website. SS members were saying the Blows had copied them. I went over to take a look ,and registered pretty much right away. I was thrilled that I could now add my own comments if I wanted to. Also at that time SS had started a Board Tribal Council, and were actually voting people off the site. Quite a few people decided SB was a better place to be.
Who are your favorite posters? Why?
I hate to say that some members are my favorites. I think we have some really great people, and everyone brings their own personality. If I was pinned down on this. I think I have a special feel for some of the people I met when I first came here. VampKira has always been wonderful, and one of the very first people I talked to on the board. BA has a special place in my heart. As do Leif, AK, and Irish (Lady T) Because we were all new at the same time. I have made some great new friends here too. Like you Kismet.
Kissing up to me will not reduce the time spent in the corner my friend. Next question.. We all have our board crushes. Who are yours?
Oh gosh, can I say everyone? Really I don't have any real crushes, that transfer into my personal life. We all know how creepy that can be. I have a soft spot for BA, but he has always been so charming. Leif makes me smile, especially when he thinks up a new nickname for me. Svist has always been a sweetie. Who doesn't love Superman? JV is always fun to flirt with. Shakes can be fun, and I like him, but he has gotten a bit scary lately. There is a certain yummy Dragon. He He He .All in all I love to flirt with all the guys. I am pretty much a flirt in my real life too.
You are the Official Newbie Greeter. How did you get that exalted position?
Ha Ha, well, I don't know how exalted it is. This actually goes back to when I first came here and how I was treated. I answered a post from AK that was a goodbye thread to BA. I was sad he was leaving us (turns out he was just going on vacation.) But after I answered I got an email from BA thanking me. It made me feel included, like I was part of this place and not just a casual reader . I realized that my contributions were part of the site too. At the time I was pretty new on a computer, and this was the first message board I had been a member of, it was a nice gesture, made me feel wanted . I want others to feel welcome, and if they decide to stay, feel a part of the family, well that's great. Other boards don't always treat their new people very well. I thought we should give people a chance. It doesn't always work out, but until we know if someone is a good fit, it is good to be friendly. I also would find people wandering into Chat who had never seen the message boards, I would invite them to check out the entire site. We've met some great people that way. Oh and by the way, I am not by any means the only person who greets on a regular basis, it has definitely caught on, and Aya has always done it.
Your not always nice though are you?You even flamed Shakes at one point right? As a matter of fact I recovered some evidence of this particular incident.
Ebug Flames Shakes the ClownTell us what sets fire to the buggy's wings?
You really got a thing about winged bugs don't you?
<Kismet walks over to the wall and adds 5 minutes to the timer>
I never flamed Shakes, not really it was a joke. I kinda just made fun of his Flame on someone else. Oh wait, when he first came on the board I made fun of him. See perfect example of what happens when someone doesn't get the proper greeting ( and that was mostly Leif's fault.)But to be honest, I am not as sweet as people think I am.
I have a bit of a mean streak. Mostly it is my sense of humor, I may say something mean, but only if I think it's funny.
You are currently at war with Vampkira over Superman and BA. Do you think you have a chance?
What????!!!!!! This is how rumors get started Kis! I have never been in any kind of battle with Vamp. She got Superman hooked on that glue, and now she keeps him drugged and locked away. BA has always loved me best.
As do all the men.
What was the funniest moment you have experienced on the board since you have been here?
Oh Wow!! I can't think of one funniest moment. This place makes me laugh everyday. There have been some hysterical moments in Chat. This one recent thing that comes to mind was You calling us all old. We had a good time with that for a day. One of these days I am going to give your children fingerpaints. People think fingerpaints are harmless, but in the hands of toddlers they are a huge mess.
Click here to read the incident of which she speaks. How did you get your name? Why are you both Drive My Car and Ebug?
Doesn't everyone know this already? I have two names because I am much too important for just one. Drive My Car, says something about me, EBug is my name. I started using EBug in chat only, but people would meet me there, and not know I was DMC on the boards. So I use both. And again, if you can have 2 names, why not?
Is that Sig pic really you?
The one with the wings??? Of course not!!! Ha Ha Ha..
I meant this one:
The drawing is really me. Well, it really is a drawing of me that was done by a friend of my Mom years ago. The large one really does look like me. The tiny one (thanks to Pen for shrinking it for me) Still looks quite of bit like me. The Hair of course is wild. The artist was kind of an odd guy, I don't know whatever happened to him. But yes, that is my face. Does anyone doubt what an attention whore I am now?
Tell us about your real life. Married? Kids? Where are you from?
Married over 9 years. Have a nine year old daughter. We have lived in Texas for 10 years. Moved here from Southern California, where I had lived all my life. I love where we live, and Texas has been really good for us, but I still get homesick for the Golden State. On cold winter mornings I tend to sing California Dreamin.
Is there anything else you would like to tell us about yourself?
Besides that I spent all morning doing this interview and got no housework done? Oh hell, I hate housework anyway. I don't know what else to say. I spend way too much time here, but I just can't stand to be away from my friends for long.
You have become like the safety monitor of the boards. Have you always been a tattletale?
Now see, this is just wrong!! I do not tattle. I only point out where others should behave themselves.
Obviously, you need to think about your crime some more, so I will leave you to your punishment. Thank you again for the interview.
<Kismet turns to face the camera> This conludes this broadcast of Cornertime with Kismet. Thank you all for joining us. Please stay tuned for future installments.
