And it pretty much speaks for itself anyway. Week 5 Results 1st place - Pam/Winnie (2x) 2nd place - Max/Katie (1.5x) 3rd place - Mona/Beth (1.4x) 4th place - Bates/Anthony (1.1x) 5th place - Caroline/Jennifer (.9x) 6th place - Joey/Meghan (.5x) 7th place - Chuck/Wynona (.4x) 8th place - Dave/Connor (0x) I just noticed that I accidentally mis-labeled 6th and 7th place (meant to do .6x and .5x). Although I accidentally gave too many payout points last year, so I guess it evens out. Level Grind This was definitely one of those "grind it out" kind of weeks, where the large majority of players gained points overall... But nobody really broke the bank. We all just had really solid but unspectacular weeks. Nothing wrong with that, I guess, especially after a shake-out last week. The Greatest Gainer Award goes to bystander and jbenz, who both climbed a cool 5 ranks this week. Nicely done. Bonus Game - PATty Cake Time for an oldie-but-goodie. It's time for PAT! PAT stands for the Painfully Average Team which is the team that finishes right smack in the middle of the pack. They are neither awesome, nor sucky. They're just kinda there. For this week, with 7 teams remaining, that'll be the team that finishes in 4th place. So you're essentially placing a wager on which team will finish 4th. If you're right, you get a huge payout. If you're wrong you lose the bet. This is a completely separate wager from your regular bet, though. But remember, you can't borrow points on your credit card, and put them on the PAT bonus game. If you're gonna play the bonus, you gotta spend your own points. You may also only make one bonus wager, so it's an all-or-nothing gamble. PAT Payout Table Correct Answer - 7x Incorrect Answer - 0x Max Bet - 10 points So, with a +60 from this bonus game, you could really make up some ground. So choose carefully! 25 Caroline/Jennifer * .9 = 22.5
Borrow 25 on Bates/Anthony * 1.1 = 27.5 - 2.5 = 25
Total: 37.5 + 22.5 + 25 = 85
Right?

I don't have time to re-calculate right now (on lunch break), but I'll re-check all of the scores tonight.
In your calculation, you forgot to subtract out the 25 points you borrowed on Bates/Anthony (making that whole bet a wash), and didn't include your 11 points "banked".
By that calc, you should have 71 instead of 61. I'll re-check it all tonight.

I re-calculated all the scores, and found that your score was correct at 61 points.
I also calculated a net of 85 points total. After taking out the 25 points you borrowed and the 2.5 points of interest, I got a grand total of 60.5 = 61 points.

I fixed your score. It ended up being 149 points due to a little rounding an extra point on your Bates/Anthony wager (from your calc). Since I was 15 points off, I'm guessing I forgot to enter in your 30 point Max/Katie loan.
Yours was actually the only one I messed up on, so clearly I was subconsciously trying to improve my own chances.
