"RE: Episode 4" LAST EDITED ON 03-22-11 AT 04:41 AM (EST) Just dropping in to say 'hi!' to you, give you a clap for your work on tallying the roadblocks so far ... and also to give you a reason why there's a space in between when you do a table. For some reason, the language in the code reads your table and thinks it's supposed to enter an empty space before your table for each line that you have in the table. To fix the problem, put your table together and when it's all ready, eliminate the carriage returns you did to move onto each next line -- that is, go to the start of each line and backspace so they all run together as if it's one continuous line. So instead of: <table border="number" cellspacing="number" cellpadding="number"> <tr> <td> Text in first row, first column</td><td> Text in first row, second column</td> </tr> <tr> <td> Text in second row, first column</td> <td> Text in second row, second column</td> </tr> </table> Make it like so: <table border="number" cellspacing="number" cellpadding="number"><tr><td> Text in first row, first column</td><td> Text in first row, second column</td></tr><tr><td> Text in second row, first column</td><td> Text in second row, second column</td></tr></table> Yes. It`s a colossal pain in the butt to do it this way week in and week out, but it`s the only way to eliminate these spaces. What I did when we had the NFL football pool on OT Sports, was to type it up in Word with the lines separated, update it weekly and then copy it over onto here and backspace between each line on here before posting.
