This seems to be the only thing I find of interest.

Did Brandon bug you? I never got to know Brandon since we weren't on the same tribe. I tried to base my judgments from only what I saw when we merged. I found him to be a pretty cool guy but at the point that I spoke to him I knew I was already voted out. He seems to be a person whose fortunes are coming to him because of his weaknesses like Kim Johnson

Also her is Silas when asked about Brandon. "Brandon is actually a clever kid."

Of course I may be reading a lot more into these than is there.

1. "Is there more to Brandon than meets the eye?"
I know I've read posts on these boards, and folks I know have asked "Could Brandon act ANY MORE gay?"

I don't think it's been said to disrespect him, just to point out that he seems to fit so many of the sterotypes it's almost unbelievable.

Brandon may very well be playing to the stereotype to get under the radar. I don't expect him to suddenly transform himself into some kind of super athlete and start winning challenges when it gets down to the last few, but that would really make this the ultimate SURVIVOR so far for me. Not because Brandon won it, but that would be a great job of gamesmanship.

2. "RE: Is there more to Brandon than meets the eye? YES!"
>I know I've read posts on

>act ANY MORE gay?"

Television MAGNIFIES homosexual traits. Although Brandon is effeminate we should not hold that against him. Although every one of the polls pick him as the next to go, and I don't think that's going to be the case at all.

Brandon is who he is, and he marvelously makes no bones about it. I think that's one of the reasons that MB chose him. Someone(we still are not sure who) was gay on S2 and came out on the show and they cut it. Subsequently, this Survivor decided to remain in his/her closet after the fact. Richard Hatch and I both thought SOMEONE would come out eventually but nobody has. So it's great that Brandon is SOOOO out there and that MB keeps picking a gay person to be on EVERY SINGLE SURVIVOR. Visibility is everything. The whole country has to deal with Brandon, not just his tribe.

Also, drich, I wanted to respond to your picking up on Clarence's comment about Brandon. WHAT? "The riches that are coming his way?" He's revealing something significant here because it sure looks like Brandon is on his way Out of Africa any minute now. But according to Clarence, he isn't.

I agree with many on this board that L/E/T is in its death throws, and some HUGE upset will occur next week,(or the week after) when Lex goes on a "Witch Hunt" to find out who voted for him. Even if Teresa doesn't get voted out as many think she might, just Lex's tyrannical hounding of her may rub the WOMEN, the wrong way.

When it's down to eight. And assuming, say, that Frank goes next week as the strongest Sam BooBoo, that leaves FOUR WOMEN and BRANDON. And if Brandon has his wits about him, and I think he's finally figured out how to play the game, the women may all unite to vote off either Tom or Lex, which would catapult Brandon into a VERY interesting position in the show indeed.
Clarence's remark would only apply if this Beauty Shop Revolt/upset occurs.

I think that Susan Hawk's article in TV Guide this week is a real spoiler of the turmoil that might lie ahead for L/E/T, by announcing them as the annointed winners already IN NOVEMBER. Hel-lo! This isn't over until January! Is it really going to be that boring of a Pa-Gong Show until then? MB and CBS can't afford that. The ratings are going south. They don't need to underline the fact with Soozin's rantings.(Which I'm sure she didn't write. One of MB's inner flacks did.)This article is the reddest of herrings. Comparable to MB allowing Carl to tell the world that he slept with Teresa on the safari that made everyone in the free spoiling world vote for Teresa to go last week, but instead, SHE WON!

But that's why we LOVE Survivor because these things, these surprises, these reversals keep HAPPENING! And I think this will continue. That's why he mixed the tribes up in the first place, so they'd mix it up later on.

Kelly has to be really worked on by the other women, and of course, Mamakim, too. Once Frank is gone, it may unite the Sammy BooBoos even more. They've got to pull someone else in, though. Like Kelly, who seems ready to bolt. Or does she?

3. "Clarence's comments"
If we can trust Clarence's comments about Brandon and Kim J., and people, that is a BIG if, then I think it is very telling. He's basically saying that in his opinion, because B and MK are percieved as weak, they are in no danger of being voted off. From his standpoint, he got voted off for being strong, so he is going to assume that the "weaker" players are safe for a while, therefore they are "reaping their riches" or whatever Clarence said.

Anyway, why wouldn't people assume this? Look who makes it the longest in the game (Roger, Elisabeth, Tina, Keith from S2 and Rudy, Rich and Su from S1). The pattern so far has been to pick off the strong ones who may go on an immunity run, but will it be like that this season? Clarence seems to believe so.

Of course, they'd be smarter to vote off the mentally strong, and if they decide to do that, Brandon is toast. If they think that someone who is physically strong is more threatening than, say, someone like T-bird, who will attempt to build a counter-alliance, then they are mistaken. Getting rid of Clarence seemed like getting rid of the big threat, but they're so stupid -- Clarence would have been loyal and done everything Lex or Ethan would have asked him to. He admitted he wanted desperately to be in an alliance, but because of beangate, he was unable to.

Leaving people like Brandy and T-bird (and eventually Kelly) in the game is just asking for real competition. The paranoia and strategizing are heightened at this point in the game, and are far more significant than who wins immunity, because no one can win EVERY immunity.

Anyway, if Clarence assumes publicly that Kim J. and Brandon are in good shape because they're physically weak, then there are only two conclusions to draw. Either they're toast, or they're safe. Do you believe Clarence?

4. "RE: Clarence's comments"
Don't discount the possibility that Clarence doesn't know what he's talking about. As a non-jury member, he is not supposed to know about any of the boots after him. He was told point blank that he was being voted off because he's a strong athlete. So he might conclude that the lousiest athletes are now the safest.

5. "POST GAME BEHAVIOR AS SPOILAGE"
Excellent post, Night Scribe.
Can we believe Clarence? I'm so gullible, listening to him, I totally believed him. I think, though, that the "fortunes coming his way because of his weaknesses" referred solely to Brandon, and neither of the Kims. Which I thought was interesting.

Now, there's this unconfirmed spoiler floating around the boards that Teresa gets sick and is unable to continue the game. She lasts longer than one would think. And they have to call Clarence back to be the seventh member on the jury. Which would mean he would totally know who went where and for how long.
Also, as I posted in "Freaks and Geeks" his hostility towards Lex and Ethan, or rather as he grouped them, ETHAN and Lex, was surprising, too. On the other hand, he did NOT LIKE Mamakim, another surprise.

That Early Show is just a fountain of bubbling spoilage! I guess it's because it's their first PR outing and the Losers are really not yet used to dealing with the press and say things on it that are TRUE spoliage, like Diane's list, and Deb Eaton's list before her on S2. The less guileless they are,the more-unused to public scrutiny and public speaking they are, the more lucky they are to tell the truth - BUT JUST ON THAT SHOW. Then I can only imagine MB's BumbleB's(as one unused contestant so aptly called them) surround the Loser and tell them,
"You shouldn't have said that!" and "You should have said THIS, instead, etc. etc." orchestrating their every utterance from then on. And from then on, the ALL get more guarded. And hardly ever reveal anything substantive. It's only on the Early Show that they are unprepared, nervous, truthful, and more truly themselves.

Like for instance, Silas (I'm-really-smart-no-kiddin') Gaither's pointing to Tom as his "friend" was another case of his REALLY bad acting ability and why his career will go nowhere. THEN he blurts out on Regis "Who wouldn't want to be the next Tom Cruise?" Is he FOR REAL???? SOOOOOOO stupid. And on the E Pre-Show, he said, "I want to be the next Superman. I want to do it to honor Christopher Reeve." I know Christopher Reeve from Williamstown, and I know his devoted wife, Dana. I wanted to throw up, and I'm sure they did, too.

Now, if I was a film producer(and I am) I WOULD never put Silas/Chip in anything but a wood-chipper, or maybe a porno film.
He should be so LUCKY to even be CONSIDERED for PLAYGIRL!?! Believe me, 15 minutes from now, he's gonna need that exposure.
Silas have your agent call PLAYGIRL right now. I know you're reading this. Their offices are in New York on Second Avenue. They are in the phone book. YOU NEED THEM, DESPARATELY. YOU'LL NEVER BE ON AN MAGAZINE COVER AGAIN! CALL THEM!!!!

So he and Kelly, that other great actress, are hangin' in WEHO and watching the show together. I think that is somehow really hilarious, and also tells us that Kelly didn't win this. She wouldn't be seen ANYWHERE that specific and high profile and with the most-hated-player, the Loser of Losers, Silas IF SHE HAD WON. CBS would also have put a muzzle on her chatty mother who is all over the San Diego media outlets, blabbing away. Again, not something a Final Two mother would do. Right?

It was like Jerri's turning up on the Dating Game(and drunk, too,I heard)while the show was still on or Keith's pushing his cookbook WHILE THE GAME WAS STILL RUNNING! You do that sort of thing AFTER the show is over, unless you LOST, and you think you may not have the public's attention ever again.
Jerri's low self-esteem behavior on "The Dating Game" just SCREAMED " I LOST EVERYTHING"!

So I think Kelly's and Ethan's post-show bonding tells us that misery loves company.
And let me also point out what Tina did in the months after the show. She started inviting people she voted out to her home and to speak at her children's middle school! Mitchell is the main one who came to my mind, and she also maintained a close relationship with another of her early victims, Maralyn who was ASTOUNDED to find out when she watched the show that her new best friend Tina had voted her off! Tina never told her!
Now right there that said to me "This is the behavior of a guilty woman, who is trying to make up for the wrongs she did others. Does that mean she won?" Of course, it did.
But I couldn't believe this soccer mom who I always thought of as DEEP BACKGROUND, would go all the way. I just refused to entertain the thought. Of course, it had to be golden boy, Colby. NOT.
You also notice that Colby and even Jerri, aren't hangin' with Kelly and Silas, even though they are all in LA now.
Jerri is doing a good job co-hostessing the Pre-Show on E!, btw. I can't believe it's the same woman America Loved to Hate.

So what, for instance is Ethan Zohn up to? No one knows. He's vanished off the face of the earth. A sure sign that he may have ended up in the final two
Brandon's still working at the same bar he did before in Dallas. What are the others up to? Tom's back on his farm. Lex is in Santa Cruz with his family...AND HE GOT A SURVIVOR TATTOO! Which means this wasn't a totally negative experience for him. He wouldn't have gotten that tattoo if he's going soon. So Tom must be the one of those three that might go soon...It would be interesting to check what they are all up to.
